Keep H3 Alive
I agree with Motors idea bout running a continuous tourney for H3 . Its just to big and popular to let go . In fact i think with H3 tourney and Sub-tourney for H4 would boost its support. But to let it go is quite a let down for alot of people right now. Well I hope this 1 voice makes a difference . Thx for all the work on your site VES , if not for your site 1 1/2 year ago i would have given up on this game entirely and i think that says something about the appeal of your H3 tourney site  _Ken_Dragon1 in the zone ROAR!!!!!!

Hia all
h3 vs h4...hmm
Well heres my 2 humble cents :
Making a new h3 main tourney, with heroes 4 in the 'background'. Because I too belive that the patch to h4 will not be out untill much much later than late june. I think there will be a patch, but that one will be far from fullfilling our needs ( We are a bunch of picky b@stards afterall )
But as Ves pointed out in a earlier thread, he made the automation in August 2001, for h4...( well correct me if im wrong Ves!) And as we all know 'The golfhating-I play homm instead-dentist' has the final word, imho!
BUT, after saying that I too agree with 'Savinghomm3Schaaf'
heroes3 must NOT die...eventho I too have been following the drastically activity on zone as Jb pointed out in a earlier post)
Bandwith...thats another problem..Just run a full h3 and h4 tourney, and put in Divisions..etc. etc. ...hmmm!
Are Jinxer/Lichy/Destro/Ves gonna run em all ?
Many ppl are talking about how fun rdm's really are..WERE where you when KoR was running????? you sure were there when the 'flaming' part was due here in community
Pleuris ( I think that was his nick) ran a cool sub-tourney where you could conquer land and had to defend em..that too got lost in a 'U-turn'
As for maps...well I like Flammi ( zdorovo ) let those who really like/ wants to play DW/BM/HG/BFH..etc. well let em do it!
But I like the idea that one have to 'move' on to new maps ( not in every game ) but eventually.
I have many of the 'old' maps in other folders..remember Watercross,The Chosen One,Wizards conquest..etc. ?
I know Im mixing it all ..
BUT my conclusion is this, let heroes3 run another season, with heroes4 'in waiting'.....
I do think the current map council need to loosen up a little ( not saying that they should let in crappy maps) but if we really want new maps, some of the old maps needs to be re-reviwied Heck I might even make a 'Naked map'
Hmmmm, I cant think of anything else right now, but iLL be back

Well how did we all play the blind maps when they first came out, I think it would be interesting playing a blind tournament but you know as much as i do that everyone will know the map before they play it blind.
Mayhaps not players like me who like the thrills but most.

hi all
Im sad to say that i believe JB is right i think Homm3 will die out to a very few players cause all where so ready for homm 4 and now we have all been fu... so theres a feeling of anger against heroes and to start playing homm3 again is hard for a lot i think so lets face it guys gotta find something new to do with all the free hours we got now so peace out everybody go use your brilliant brains somewhere else
Thanks for homm 3 all who have worked hard on it, and all that i have had the privilige of playing
I have started playing some cycling manager game LOL aint heroes thats for sure a game like that will never come again Go play some chess

Why do people expect H3 to die out, and that the audience for it is shrinking due to H4's release? I have heard nothing positive about H4 yet, so why would it draw H3 players away? Just curious.

Hmmm.. is there really a need to make a full HoMM3 season with divisions and stuff? Let's take a look at the last subtournaments
Clan Arena - more than 50% forfeits round 1
Might & Magic - still not finished
Clan Finals - how many games have been played in the whole series(1/4 finals, 1/2 finals, finals)? 3?
IMO Classics is the right frame for those people still addicted to HoMM3. Besides I'm not too sad that H4 sucks - more time for the important things in life

Behind the scenes.......
Man did this thread grow fast as hell lol.
Believe me I've been thinking a lot about a new season. The problem is, I just wish I knew when this multi patch would come out. Everything has been geared/designed for h4 right now, behind the scenes. The 'general public' and even most volunteers do not know what I have prepared in gear for homm4. Yes, all that can be readied for h3 instead, but is it worth doing it for a 3.5 year old game? Perhaps it is. But guys, I have some major plans for homm3 ToH upon the multiplayer patch release, much bigger than classic. Good things for homm3 are in store for ToH still. So do not be worried.
But this will all present itself on the h4 patch release. I will keep the season down until then.
I have been keeping tabs on the 'pulse of the heroes community', and what I can tell you is that h3 activity and player interest is down by about 50%. Peak of activity in ToH homm3 highest ever was between January through March. But after h4 release, it started dying down rapidly. So an excuse to close the season and take a break (though that did amplify the drop an activity.... but I needed a break).
But here is the interesting part: Though you hardcore homm3 players are disappointed about h4, there are 10 more for every one of you who love h4 and hate h3, and are waiting for the patch. This I know, because I am dealing with new registrations and Q&A daily, and its all people looking to play homm4, not homm3. H4 ToH will be more active than h3 ToH ever was. Some of you may not believe this, but believe it; Ive been in touch with the pulse of this community for 6 years and havent been wrong before. So ToH will remain h4 as its core, but a huge h3 subsection will be everpresent thoughout.
Its all demographics... some of you who were massive addicts of h3 ToH, may never play in h4 seasons of ToH, but your records will always be in history, and the H3 ToH will reflect on your main h4 record, and who knows, in 2 years or something, like many who didnt like h3 at start, may come back and enjoy homm4. I see players who can be the next zuds, jb's and such, but for homm4. Just like there were greats in homm2, but never came back for homm3.
The way I see it, ToH will exist as long as heroes exists, so not to worry one way or another. (unless I die or go to jail lol)

maybe ur right..maybe u are not..the question is will there be around a big number of players after 1 year ?
u really think H4 gonna be a success over 4 years ??
and think again about what u wrote...the most successfull time of H3 was 4 years after game release lol
i doubt there is any other game that has or will have a similar success story in the near future.

Well, its very reassuring to hear that there are no plans to "drop" H3. Is there anything planned for us players that will still be strictly (or mostly) playing H3? Do to system specs. I wont be able to play H4 anytime soon, so just wanted to know how "big" the H3 or Classic tourny would be.

I for one cant waiiit till Ves good idea is in store for us for the big season too come.
He did a fantastic job in previous seasons, so if he says not to worry & mentioned heroes 3 & 4 then I am not worried at the least
