Okay, before I start on the lineups proper, I'm going to suggest a greater use of text modifiers (bold, italic, underline, colours) to denote different parts of your proposals. F.E. underline the names of the units so we don't confuse them with the previous units abilities. Oh, and reduce the number of spaces between lines, like so:
s1x______ said: Level 1: Militia -> Conscript/Hunters
Militia: Local paramilitary forces. Lords may recruit them into the army. Some join for glory and others for gold. Their improvised weaponry is weak and ineffective except in large numbers
1/1-1/1/3/7/4/NIL/NIL/NIL/Taxpayer/?/?
Taxpayer: Adds 1g to your treasury each turn
Conscripts: Some lords equip their militias will spare armor and short spears. They are certainly more effective than their weaker counterparts.
1/1-2/3/5/8/4/NIL/NIL/NIL/Taxpayer/?/?
Hunters: Other lords may choose to recruit local hunters. Their shortbows are weak against armor and only accurate at close range.
1/1-1/1/4/8/4/6/0.4/4/Taxpayer/Mark/?/?
Mark: This unit marks attacked targets. Until they move, they take 15% more damage from all allied ranged attacks.
In terms of the lineups themselves, I'm not overly fond of the Human town (needs a better name too) as it's basically the Castle/Haven with a handful of tweaks. The academy does show some innovative choices though, which is good.

Nice formatting, it shall be done.
Admittedly a large chunk of lineups will be copied from previous lineups, Academy was probably the most innovative in the spreadsheet so far.
Demons was really hard for me to find the 21 creatures, so a pretty large portion of them will be copied. Elves is pretty similar as well. Necropolis is *checks* also kinda similar.
Thanks for the comments.

Are you going to create any factions that aren't the basic ones (Humans/Castle/Haven has been in every game so far, Necropolis in every game since its appearance in HoMM2, and Academy only skipped HoMM6)

I feel like with undead it's not that hard? There are a bunch of well-known options, some more repetitive than others:
* Skeleton/skeleton archer
* Zombie
* Ghoul
* Ghost
* Shade/wraith
* Flesh golem
* Vampire
* Mummy
* Lich
* Death knight
* Ghost dragon
* Grim reaper
With inferno-type creatures, it depends on how much mythological referencing you're okay with; my lineup managed to get seven creatures that don't exist in H3.

Inferno in Heroes games has typically been very fire-and-brimstone in its depiction of demons and hell but there's lots of other angles you could take, like basing them off of the 7 deadly sins, or primal fears, or more eastern religions. It doesn't all have to be Satan and his pitchfork. The nature of demons pretty much means that the sky is the limit in how you want to portray them.

Yeah - for example, in Norse mythology hell is depicted as cold, so if your setting has a lot of Norse motifs in it (like the dwarf-fortress of H5), you can go with that.
And conversely, if your setting has Mediterranean motifs, you can base the castle on the Byzantine army, which had horse archers in addition to the more usual types of cavalry and infantry that Western European armies had.

Thats true. I guess i m still stuck on 5-ish. I m gonna do Dwarves first, since they are my established Norse faction, plus i have them kinda written out. I'll figure out demons in the meantime

Well the H5 factions were mostly just touched-up versions of the H3 ones, with only Fortress being completely new.

Side note: I always feel weird when people associate dwarves with Northern European cultures, since Northern Europeans were always historically taller than Southern Europeans (due to higher meat consumption).

Yeah, but nothing else fits. The dwarves live inland, in the mountains; the vikings were famously seafarers and littoral raiders.

Okay, to be on-topic this time: can you do it as an actual spreadsheet or table? The format that you're using for this, as a long list of stats for each unit, is difficult to read, since I'm not going to memorize the order of 12+ different numerical attributes.

They're part of Nordic mythology.

What does the ^ symbol next to some of the abilities indicate?

That indicates which abilities are spread by the associated "Support Allies" ability. For example, Silver Unicorns share their Resistances and their Immunity to Curses, but not their First Strike and Negate First Strike abilities.
BTW, do you guys want to focus on mechanics first and ignore the short blurbs?

Ah. It was the Warden's First Strike and Break Charge abilities that got me confused on that point.
Quote: BTW, do you guys want to focus on mechanics first and ignore the short blurbs?
Add the blurbs as comments I'd say.
