Forum fights and ToH

Folks.... Have you noticed that the forums are getting a little crazy? Of course you have.
People are irritable and cranky lately. Probably because Heroes 4 isnt exactly what we wanted.
And ToT isnt exactly what we wanted.
ToH IS what we want though, in some form or another.
I played in too many other tourneys in the last 3-4 years that circled the porcelain bowl and disappeared. I want ToH in whatever form Ves decides will work. If thats H4 with H3 sub-tourneys, I will play.
It's just over 2 weeks until we find out if H4 multi will work or not. We have waited a long time and we can wait a little longer. If it works, it works. If it doesnt, many of us will not wait any longer. So, it's H3 then I guess.
I dread trying to find a game in the zone on the same old maps and the same old tactics and the same old rulez though, and many feel the same way. I wish Ves could come up with a way to ASSIGN maps, colors, and towns to play. It would open up a whole new world of H3 play!
I will play Frank on DW if assigned. I will lose but if fairly drawn it's fair! And we could all play some of those good but rarely played maps that no one knew like the back of their hand.
It could work for H4 too! There will not be a lot of maps at first and we all know what towns we will select dont we?
Back to the forum fights though.
Every time I walk into the Tavern lately I check my shoes when I leave, I must have stepped in something that smells really bad! And it seems to be leaking over into the other forums too.
I have contributed my share of sarcastic remarks and flamed the clueless......
But for the next few weeks I promise to be good and refrain from crap throwing. It wont be easy sometimes but what the hell.... It's only a couple of weeks. If it isnt sorted out by then, there may not even be an HC!

Craig -- it is very simple to do what you suggest. It is called Bracketed subtournies. Set matchups and assigned maps for each bracketed tourny.
I to hope TOH goes back to more bracketed tournies and NO more additcs style.
Also I personally will be playing about 95% random maps if there is a new Heroes3 Season5. Unless ALL the maps are scraped and all new style of maps are created. Just seems pointless to watch people advane up the rankings playing Desertwar 110 times and Hourglass 100+ times only.

Ves,,,IS TOH!!!
Just cause we critisize some decisions(whisper,,homm4)
He da man, creating ToH and paying expenses out of pocket, in order to support the tournament. Not to mention the time involved...
I just wish I was around at the beginning,,,
But I have come to respect the ones that were...
They can be arrogant sometimes(where's mocara)
But damn they've mastered the game for the most part,,,
and it's my goal to learn as much as possible from them..
So show some respect,,,

I didn`t suggested he should stop doing what he is doing , i only suggested some kind of hiding the real identity of the next season so ppl think it`s a new one , and like it or not....then people would stop figting about how ToH should be...
Anyway , it was meant to be a joke ....tough i see that lately people lost the sense of humour .....bah , i didn`t see any pornoghraphy on thy site , and all are revolted about a pic...

I am sure Ves will agree to this.... Ves isn't ToH, yes he runs it but YOU the PLAYERS are ToH you made, ToH what it is. Yeah Ves created ToH but if noone played it there wouldn't be a ToH now would there

this has always been my gripe with TOH playing the same maps over and over till you can plai it with one hand while you write a leeter with the other LOL.
Random rules!

IMO
Random is the answer to people who play for the right reason, FUN!
But some people are just to obsessed with winning they wont try new maps. In the new season, in whatever capacity H3 is involved, I plan to play alot of random.

I can see where that post could be misunderstood that way, please see my post in the "5th TOH season= random season?" topic. In there I sort of explained myself better.
And no, I dont think that people that dont play random, play only for point winning. People that play the same maps over and over either really like the map and wont mind a point reduction system for playing same maps, or they are too obessed with gaining points.
Ofcourse people that dont mind trying new maps dont really have anything to worry about.

U play enough templates they end up being the same always..playing randoms is like playing same maps over and over.

Sure they are... why you think people know which templates are bad which are good...therefore wanna restart. Granted you don't know exactly where stuff is but have a good idea once template is played enough.
This templates rich.. that ones poor.. this road goes to second town that road goes to middle.Open your eye's : o)
This template gives me 1 of every resources and a gold mine so i better clear my area before following road to middle first.: o)
That's the truth in case u missed it : o)

So IMO your quote doesn't come close to that!
Maybe there are some similarities in the templates, as you call them, but still nowhere near as bad as playing TOH maps till the end of time!

if u dont know desert war vs an player who knows it very well u dont have a big chance to win
if u dont know dwarven tunnels template template for example vs. someone who does know it very well u dont have a big chance to win too.
on toh maps , both players know if there are utopias, 2nd towns, mines, if its a rich or a poor map - on random maps the unexperienced player doent know anything of that - the random expert knows every template by hard and knows what he has to expect.
