There is nothing like playing a brand new carefully thought of HOMM3 map against a challenging player. For it to work though, toh would need a secret map vault in which Vesuvius would accumulate maps. Then if 2 players agree on playing such a map, someone in charge of the vault would set the game up by hosting only for the first day. That would be great I think.

btw, each player can find opponent for playing maps which they both like. And i dont see here problem. When DW was popular all played DW, and Andi , and Jinxer and many more players. Now random maps most popular, i'm not fanatic random maps , but must play it if want find opponent quickly.Random medium -funny maps, just try play it on impossible mode  . Will be more intresting. Always easy make rule- restart game if 1st week meeting, its so easy for "rules lover".
Mainly, i cant understand reason why this thread show up.
Motor want play random small? or dont like medium random?
or enemy's points bothering him?
no offence, just asked.

anyway, generate random maps and fixing after it for relics,fly ,dd and etc. very good idea. We long time ago started use this method for our offline tourneys.
Possible , then 3 part host make it , it can be very funny and practicaly for TOH.

like i said before i wanted to hear opinions from random experts: if they like em - if they enjoy em or if they would ban em if they could. i dont have a clue about randoms so whats wrong with asking experts about that?

sure everyone on top is called a point hugger and the most hated player in toh lol thats nothin new really - every season the same . but the behaviour of some guys since i am on top (which is just because i have a lot time to play lately) on zone and on board is just poor and i feel sorry for em.
i mean when the Question was asked which subtourney is wanted most the answer was "divisons" - and now they attack the players that put a lot efford in it and try to get that tourney started as soon as possible...i cant really understand that ...

Motor that is the point of a LADDER ranking system is to climb the ladder. So I dont understand why people would be giving you a hard time. lol. Maybe they just jealous that you are goin so fast and you arent waiting on them hehe.
I say go as fast as ya can....I be there sooner or later hehe.
Besides I really want divisions to open so I say hurry up and to others that are getting close to Legionairre... hurry your butt up also 
Infact I wish I could POint Hug. Seems I dont have a good enough hold on my points, seem to drop them to easy lol.

Ok People So you telling me that on Random map you like meeting each other in 1st week? where is the fun in that if not just for the points and quick wins. if you say thats fun then you lying to yourself. The main problem i see with them are the town placement on the maps they are always so close togeather. Noe i played Random some and they are no fun for me. All the games i play of them end in 1st week. you really don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. Most players use the same Stragety on the them. old hire 6-8 heroes, Chaining and straight to their opponant.Now one unfair Advantage the host have rather most don't know is in Random map generations when its created the map goes in the hosr random map folder so all he has to do is look at his editor in between go's to see where everything is at, And none of the other players can. And that meet in 1st week restart rule good rule but don't you get tired of restarting a game 5-6 times? A complete waste of time. Well i could go on about randoms but enough said.

Then play lg w/under or better yet xl w/under.
As for checking editor,,,if u play honorable peeps u don't have to worry bout crap like that!!
By all means restarts sux, but when u get a good map its always a much better game then on "hex memorization" maps.
btw...where is Mr. DW...did flamingo retire?

I guess i must be weird or something, but contrary to what Data says i do enjoy a medium random for its sake with all it flaws.
Those maps make for a usually fast game, and a very different one to boot. I find it interesting to fight with limited resources and partial buildup where having lv4 or 5 by end of week 1 can be a big advantage. And it is a strategic game, you have to come up with novel ways to play in order to win. And if you think you can do it buying 6-8 heroes then you a very, very mistaken.
And i would agree that it makes for sometimes very unbalanced games. And therefore not a good strategy to rise in rank as Midnight already pointed out. But this is also why it can be much more fun then playing a set map against a weaker opponent. You'll have to think really hard to outplay even a very weak opponent when the deck is stacked in their favour.
Also having no week 1 or even better day 5 meeting rule as it eliminates a lot of restarts and no Red day 1 attack, make those maps pretty playable and entertaining.
As to being a point hugger I have played more then 20 TOH games where my potential point gain was 0, never asking a player to make it a fun game. So i dont think I can be acused of that bias. I hope more people will play random mediums as an alternative to DW and such when looking for a quick heroes fix

Yeah, thanks. Having a girlfriend and alot of summer outdoor activity really sucks, IŽd rather sit here at my computer all day playing heroes  .

Ok I actually played 3 Large Randoms early morning hours No under 3 players in each The 1st game was excellent i have to admit but one person left befor end screwed whole game up. 2nd game Horrible was locked into land no way out had to restart again. 3rd game playable but too many castles in that one game went on forever til we got boared and just agreed to quit. so i don't hate random just the town placement i hate. And yea you right Honorable oplayers will not look in editor but you never can tell about some. Overall i say med maps not good for Toh but Large and X-Large is fine. well i taken up enough of yall time here i'll be getting on to bed work later. need sleep

i appologize myself lews_therin for beeing ill for about 3 weeks.

ATTENTION!!!
Can we all show a little maturity? It is fun for a while to flame each other for any and everything, but its old now.
For 5 Season now we have had every debate in the book. It is a proven fact that each player has his and hers OWN style of play, there own map likes and dislikes, there own rules they like, there own TOWNs and Heroes, and there own tournies they prefer to join.
So why dont we just let everyone have there own choices and not try to convert everyone.
I personally played Fixed maps for 4 Seasons and got tired of them. I evolved to a different outlook on what Fixed maps had to offer and got bored with what they offered me. Some people never get bored with that same thing, so I say let them be.
AS for Tournies. Wether you people like Kitten or not, she has busted her butt for her Myths tourny. For what ever reason you dislike Myths tourny that is fine. You are entitled to your opinion, but should be no reason for publicly tearing it down.
As for Andi's Blind map tourny he is working on... The maps are RANDOM. He is not changing the layout or structure of the maps. All he is doing is removing a few extra Conservatories/Hives and NO ddoor/fly and any BIG wood ore blocks that would normally cause a restart. But on a fundemental level it is still a random map.
I personally think it is impressive that a fixed map player is atleast making an effort to bridge the gap between Fixed and Random players. Give him some credit. I am a Random player now and I am helping make this tourny with ANDI, because I think it is a great idea and has alot of potential.
I even want to say that WhiteWiz donated in his own way to this new Blind Map tourny. He let me use his Brackets graphic off his WWheroes site. There is NO reason why everyone cant be civilized and show respect to everyone even if we dont like there choices and ideas in tournies and style of play etc.
Too bad things werent the same as Season 1 and 2 in TOH. ALmost everyone worked together and enjoyed each other and the games. I hardly ever remember seeing all the bickering and fighting. Maybe we could all take a step back and try a little harder to make this online experience better instead of always complaining on why its bad etc.

b/c there r so many players now and so many diff kind of peeps and thats just the way the world works.
so every 1 finds there online friend and with them they get along best like u andi and motor the 3 of u get along gr-8 allways sucking up 2 each other.
