Yeah and if cyborgs or robots are put in WoG, I'm out of it for good. No need for that kind of stuff in this game. And if you want some new creatures, why not draw some up, get them animated, and let's have a look? I'm not being mean here, just realistic. Remember....around 300 frames per creature.....

Well... actually back here in Poland on one of the biggest HoMM forums we had a little fight over the idea of having cyborgs, robots, etc.... I would love the idea... know why? I'm a maniac when it comes to the storyline... and the forgotten Forge town would bring so much into the H3 story... Kreegans... Acients..... oh.. I'm getting carried away. Anyway I would like to see some new, futuristic creatures in WoG.

[sarcasm] Yes, Forge was an awesome idea. Cyber Zombies, Lasergun Orcs called Stingers ( WHAT ELSE? ), and level 7 Tanks... Actually, those were more like mechanical Centaurs, y'know, women with bare breasts and tanks instead of hips and legs. And guns in their hands. Or were those machine guns?! All that, living in futuristic buildings, their dim neon lights glimmering in the etarnal post-nuclear night.
Gotta have the Forge! [/sarcasm]

So???? What's wrong with cyborgs and lasers? Have you ever played MM? I remind you that Kreegans are an alien race who came to us from another planet... They are not devils... they only look like them .... Besides in MM7 you get androids in Erathia.. in MM3 there are terminators.... Futuristic lasers and machines were in Erathia and Enroth right from the start!.... The Forge WAS constructed (MM7).... and wasn't introduced in AB just because fans like you who don't know the first thing about the MM-HoMM storyline started to protest..... You little humans think HoMM takes place in the dark ages...... The thruth is a lot more complicated!

I personally have been using Paint Shop Pro 7 to do my gfx work. To clarify for any would be gfx artists, each creature uses between 50-80 frames for the battle animations.
As for the whole Forge thing, I'm glad it never made it in, although I am partial to anything with bare breasts.

WoG is installed in the same directory but has a separate executable file, so you can still run SoD (instead of WoG). SoD should run as normal with the exception of a few minor graphical changes such as the animated trees.
An alternative to this that should avoid even minor graphical changes is to make another copy of SoD (if you have the hard drive space). Just copy & paste the Heroes3 directory to another hard drive or give the copy a new directory name on the same hard drive, and then install WoG on just one of the copies.
And yes, all options (okay, about 99% of them) can be turned off in the WoG Options menu that specifies how a map and game will be changed if you "WoGify" a map. There's two options right now that I can think of that can't be turned off (as far as I know). One is a new hero specialty for one of the Heroes (Nagash, I think) that gives him "Walking Darkness" on the adventure map, and the other is the selectable shoot/melee/spell/attack & return combat option that let's a shooter (e.g., Titan) or spell-casting creature (e.g., Faerie Dragon) make a melee attack instead of shooting or spell-casting. It also lets a Harpy attack without returning. These options are selected by right-clicking on the Defend button when it's that stack's turn in combat (and that choice remains for that unit until chnaged or the combat ends).

Mega Dragon not bad....but a Meka Dragon now we're getting somewhere. A robotic dragon would be nice, what about Zombie dragon.
I just thought of a great idea, pirates that are on ships that wander around on the oceans. They can act as barbarians and loot costal castles and have their own castle in the sea.........an oil tanker (like in water world)?? Ideas are just poping in....
What about ghost ships....

Pirate ships or ghost ships would be good, and they're something I already wanted to include but there's no easy way to create them at this time. All ships have to have heroes in them and there's no way of putting a hero directly into a ship with ERM (yet). I'm hoping Slava will be able to add a command that would do this so that I (or someone) could write a script around it.
Actually, there may be another way of doing it but there are other problems too--there's no way to keep the ship in the water and stop it from landing. Now that I think about it, that's an even trickier issue to deal with than putting a hero onto the ship in the first place.

Is there a way to put a monster in a different menu in the map editor? For example can you put a water elemental under the water objects menu in the map editor? This will make it so you can't place it on land. If so, can you make it wandering? If so, can you give it a script to act as monster and give it radius of 1 square around it and when a boat for example enters the radius it enters battle mode and when destroy the objects disappears like a monster?
Simple english, is it possible to......
1) Create another boat and add it in the water objects menu to prevent the boat being placed on land?
2) Then give it a script to act like a monster?
3) Make it wandering around, like freelancers?
4) When entered in its "radius", it enters combat mode like normal monsters and always have the battle grounds like the one where theres two ships with 3 wooden planks. One side heroes other side pirates?
5) When the pirate enters a "radius" of a costal castle, the pirates steal some of your gold or resourses then get teleported some place else?
Even though I know nothin' about ERMs, I have a gut instinct that this might work. But you never know I could be wrong, which is likely

Why do you need to put a hero in the boat in the first place? Create an object like a boat (with a "scull and cross bones" flag), give it an ERM script when attacked then give it a set battle ground that stays the same (the two boat one), etc.
