USA
I might be moving to the States in a year or two, so I'm interested in your experiences. I would like to hear from American citizens and immigrants as well.

That is true we got our own cultures like inAtlanta Georgia Texas & some other places like Kentucky is where all the red necks hang out & listen to thier country & some are still prejudice.
We got NY,Chicago which basically have thier own style of an accent that are city dwellers opposite of country hehe

Speaking as someone who went and lived in the US for too long .... beware of the southern states
The US really should put up warning posters about them before you get there I dont mind the rednecks personally, theyre a good laugh if they dont get too close or breath on you .... but the churches on every block and a different religion shoved down your throat every step you take.... its so hypocritical. Anywhere near the Bible belt.... run, run for your life

Is someone tugging my heartstrings?
Vlaad, I was born and raised in Chicago. Talk to me if you want to know more about it. I'll give you the layout...tell you which places are good to live...talk to you about the culture.
This incredible information comes with a price though.

Quote: I'll probably move to canada from israel.
I moved from Israel to Canada 3 years ago, so I know how it feels. Canada has some great advantages but you can't help but miss Israel - it's this kind of thing that you notice only when it is taken away from you. It's not just the friends, I miss all the little things like the food, the community feeling, the true patriotism, the sea and the desert.
Overall I am happy that I moved here, though, so I bet you would be happy in this country as well.

No, never heared of this place. Where is it located?
And I lived in Haifa for two years, then moved to a small town in the north called Maalot (20 minutes driving from Naharia, 1 hour from Haifa), then moved to Kfar-Vradim which is right beside it.
Where do you live?

I would LUV to hear something about Chicago! Needless to say, I've checked a number of sites but... that's not it!
First of all, my girlfriend (my future wife) has the opportunity to finish her studies in the States. She's studying medicine and will have graduated by November. Is there a good non-Ivy League university ( medical school? ) in Chicago and what's its name?
Other than that, we are interested in things like: what's a good part of the city to live in, what could a foreign English teacher do in America , what the heck are White Sox etc etc?

If Canada is still in the consideration, then I would recommend Alberta. Beautifull nature, but still a healthy amount of city life. Not interesting for people who enjoy nightlife, though.
