Be amazed! ANOTHER IDEA! :P

I think a really cool thing to add to a Heroes game would be dungeons! Like you constructed the inside of a cave, and could have a cool artifact at the end of a corridor, but you'd have to fight a dragon boss thing or something first. You could name the dungeon as well. Like some of the monster dwellings! You could go through a short few corridors, maybe with monsters, then at the end you could fight the Naga Queen or the Megadragon or whatever, and gain control of it. And once you gained control of the dwelling or whatever, you could place the guards wherever you wanted inside of it! Tell me what you think!

More Ideas!

Also, a town placed on all water tiles only could be like an Aquarium, or something! All the monsters there could be waterlike-such as Mermaids, Sea Serpents, Krakens, etc. Some of these monsters could be powered down if they leave a water area, but then go back to normal when they're in the water again! Boy am I full of ideas! ACK! I should make my own game! XP
Also, I've come up with all the monsters I'd ever want to see in a Heroes game (some of them are already in the game), and am going to list what some of them are here:
Manticore, Fire Basilisk, Basilisk, Puppet, Marionette, Mannakin, Lion, Tiger, White Tiger, Cyclops, Unicorn, Winged Unicorn, War Unicorn, Remora, Sea Serpent, Mermaid, Merman, Kraken, Octo Warrior, Iron Golem, Gold Golem, Nomad, Bandit, Dwarf, Halfling, Leprachaun, Fairy, Fairy Rabbit, Fairy Princess, Fairy Queen, Forest Imp, Troll, Orc, Ogre, Medusa, Naga, Naga Queen, Sphinx...(More to come later!)

Cave Idea

Seems to me that the cave idea is already covered by simply making an underground area, guarding the entrance with whatever you wish, and then placing whatever you want at the end, or somewhere in there.

I do like the idea of the aquarium, however.  That's an interesting concept, but I'll bet building it up would be a major pain in the neck.

i guess he probably meany that the artifact in the end of the cave is immobile. sort of like capturing a structure while you don't yet know what the special effect of the structure is.

Lol. That's kinda what I was thinking, but I suppose the underground is a lot like cave stuff. But it still would be neat to make multifloor dungeons, maybe, like a tower.
Having a sky world could be neat too, like have a Heaven and Hell war from the sky and the underworld lol! XP
Another neat town thing would be to have what's in a certain town change depending on the terrain it's on. I had a preserve on lava terrain in HOMM4 when I created my own map, and I would have been able to have unicorns and sprites available in it if I hadn't disabled them! XD So, using my concept, a preserve on lava terrain would have Hellhounds while a forest terrain preserve could have Timber Wolves...? Might be neat.

if you were to have caves, and towers and such

it would be like a game i played a looong time ago called "magic candle" or somethign like that it was graphical about 10 years old and you had to type what you wanted done (your heroes could be like gem cutters ect.. and they gave you 1000 days to complete).

if you enter a tower you would be forced to battle 4-5 fights in a row getting harder and harder, after each fight you could get the treasure and you would be asked if you wanted to retreat. maybe you could only take your hero with you (h4 style) and the treasure gets better and better, or maybe with all units.

i like this idea, but it would slow down multi games.

1)enter tower
2) *fight 200 pikemen
3) receive 1000 gold *retreat?
4) *fight 100 archers
5) get two of each resource *retreat?
6) *fight 100  griffens
7) get 5 or each resource *retreat?
8) *fight 100 monks
9) get artifact +2 all primarys *retreat?
10) *final battle fight 30 arch angels
11) get 10,000 gold, 10 each resource, armageddons blade (or something good anyways)

battles get considerably harder each time, but worth more and more

this would be customizable on custom maps, you could make first battle easiest or the hardest even, you could make it a necro's dream final battle 5000 peasants something like that.

Off-topic bonus-applied.

Draco's idea is as far as I know new to this forum.

There has been a lot of similar variants but as far as I know this is the first time I've seen this version of it.

Thats a good idea 2. Like, side maps.
I dont think they have anything like this, where you go inside a place and walk around. You always touch the door and everythings done.

Mabey this, rare ability for map makers to make a large room with puzzles or something. And seers huts can give the awnser or clue. Walk upwards if you step on particular spaces a wall opens and unleashes enemies. ect..

hmmm i dont completely agree with dracos suggestion.

Some of the "funniest" things in crashing a bank is that they consist of different number of creatures and rewards.

So i think like this:

You enter a bank like draco mentioned above BUT at each level there is 4 different options... meaning you see the term of how many creatures (pack/lots/several and so on) so instead of fighting 200 pikes you could get to fight say 50/100/150/250 of em and the rewards would be better the more creatures you fought (obviously).

Then after that you get offered to fight next level like "do you wish to progress to next level and fight horde/throng/swarm... of archers? which also is random of 4 different options.

Then if you answer yes you will fight and go up to next level BUT if you reject i think the bank should be closed for all further visits. Then you cant take the bonuses gradually but you gotta estimate how many levels you wanna take of the bank and how many units you will need for it.

It also contributes with a stragecial option meaning you can "steal" a bank like this, like for example your opponent knows he can take say 3-4 levels but wanna try and take all 5 (because of randomization of 1-4 options he will have to save up a bigger army in case of largest top level, as if he would "stop" then bank would close and he would lose the greatest reward) and saves up army for that.. then you can sneak in a power scout with enough army to clear first level and "close" the bank.

Good idea though dracos, sure has potential.

are we still talking about homm? cause it sounds more like a first person game.

p.s. thanks for the QP

to: Sir_Stiven

I like your idea of randomness (i think thats what your saying)

so would it say something like "do you wish to fight lots to swarm of pikemen" or would it be like in H3 crypts and stuff where you get suprised? or did you mean it would ask you to chose your difficulty?

the way i would like to see it, would be each level you can chose the difficulty

i.e. options
1) pack of pikemen
2) lots
3) horde
4) throng

this way near the begining of a game you may want to chose the easy route for the little gold (reward) however if you find it later in the game you will want to chose the stronger battle.

I do not like however the idea of "closing the bank" once a level is completed, that level can never be fought again, however there is no reason to limit someone from fighting the higher levels. (lets face it it would be a long game before you can kill every level of the tower)

if someone fights and beats 4 of the 5 floors then leaves, you could still go into the tower and fight the final floor. taking the reward.

Yes draco, i want it to be random and once you have cleared a level you will have the oppurtunity to advance to next and the # of creatures you will fight will be random between 4 options. Like when you cleared an area you will getting a question saying "next level is guarded by [horde] of [griffins] do you want to proceed?" (the values in tags are replaceable).

That way you will also never know what to expect, you could have been saving up a huge army for example fighting the toughest option on the two top levels while they turned out to be the smallest.

This as mentioned also is the reason i want the banks to close when you decide to "pull out". Otherwise you will always know what to expect on next level and you can take the levels gradually once you have reached approx. the number of creatures needed.

If bank closes there will be more of a strategical move, not only because of gambling on when to take it or it could be stealed by opponent.

But also if you for example are 1k gold short of getting the creature dwell that you really need for next week and got no resources to trade. Your only "real" option is to attack this bank for smallest level and gain 1k gold from it, nothing more because you know that you wont have enough units to fight it. Then do you leave your creature dwell for next week and hope for a full bank which top levels are really rich or do you get the first bank level and then close the bank knowing that you atleast got your good creature dwell and hope that you didnt miss too much missing out on the top levels on this bank.

Because as i want it these special banks are to be rare, about as rare as getting h3 utopias are. So it will hurt if you wont make all the levels and not just be able to try again on em a few days later.

I don't think it's a pretty good idea. I think that this is almost subterranean map, so you don't need to construct caves. By the way, there are adventure caves like you want in h3: WoG.

huh?

we are talking about creature banks here... not building some cave?

The bank could as an utopia be placed anywhere on map, not just subterrean ground.
