The political compass
There have been threads similar to this one, but I thought I'd share this quiz with you as I think (considering my own results and those of some of my RL friends) the results are quite adequate.
The Political Compass
For me the test had the following results:
Economic Left/Right: -8.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.49
Would be interesting to read about yours and maybe talk about some of the questions, some of them sure are fuel for a nice discussion methinks

Retook the test while paying better attention to its questions.
Economic Left/Right: -8.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.15
(half-attention results were -8.12 & -5.18)
On the plot of world leaders, it's pretty funny that, with the exceptions of Mandela, Gandhi (a social leader) and the Dalai Lama (a spiritual leader), everyone is positive on the Authoritarian/Libertarian scale. I guess in order to run a state, you need some basic faith in the power of the state.

Nice to see so many “leftist-lowists” here. Keep those negative coordinates rolling!
Personally, it guessed for me (more or less). According to this test, I’d classify as an extreme communist and moderate libertarian socialist.
I see myself as an extreme social-democrat, so, as i said, more or less, the result is true for me.
It’d be better if they had Castro and Tito on the compass. Also, I’m surprised how badly Bush rates. Highest authoritarian of the “democratic” leaders, very close to Mugabe, considering the vertical axis. But then again, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. :/
Ps: great test!

Pretty good test. Was worth the time.
Quote: Mahatma Gandhi to biographer Louis Fisher in June 1946 :"The Jews should have offered themselves to the butcher's knife. They should have thrown themselves into the sea from cliffs "
Obviously the quote is not antisemetic in any way. Gandhi was just a strong believer in passive resistance and that would have been the act he would have done in place of the Jews. The only problem is that Gandhi was 'fighting' against the far more humane British who could be affected by such a strategy. Very unlikely that the Nazis would have cared about mass suicide.

Check out the quiz site's graph of candidates in the US presidential primaries. You'll feel better. ...unlike some of us, who are depressed and wondering exactly how many political parties there are in the US, anyway.
