Here I have to agree with TheDeath. People can and should look at their own faults, and attempt to correct them. On the other hand, people may not be good at finding some of their faults because they don't think that they're faults. (Of course, what people consider faults is partially subjective.) That's why it's important to listen to other people's critisism. Note that this doesn't mean that their critisism is "correct". They may simply have different preferences from you, and what seems bad to them may seem good to you, and vice versa. Nevertheless, a second (and third, and fourth) opinion may indeed be useful.

I think the thing to consider here, is that while introspection is good - too much self criticism is bad.

Introspection is the ability to look honestly at yourself, and see yourself for who you are. Being able to recognize your little flaws is a good thing, sometimes so that you can try to correct whatever you feel is wrong - or other times just being able to accept that 'that's just you'. I think that's a very healthy thing, and necessary to becoming the person you ultimately want to be.

However, some people tend to over criticize themselves. Its especially harmful when you're comparing yourself to other people, or ideals that aren't realistic to yourself. In example, someone who is genetically prone to being somewhat overweight comparing themselves to some pin thin model type - and then hating themselves for not looking that way.

I practice self-rejection

I will never get over my damn height. Why that damned 175 cm? Why not 188 cm? Aka the perfect height >_>

I feel a small man can never be considered really manly. I hate being a runt.

Is that really that short? I wouldn't say that a guy has to be tall to be 'manly' , its self confidence that makes a man - so you need to stop with the self rejection and work on the self acceptance

I know lots of women that don't like men to be towering over them.. you just need to find one of those

Well, going by your logic Seraphim, everything is pointless because everything leads to death. Eating, sleeping, breathing.. why to bother, you die anyway!

Right but somehow some ppl are usefull others are placeholders. There is now real usefull reason they are good or need to be on earth.
Some ppl are really useless to some extent, but I am not naive to say that is it and it is like that and so on.

Anyway, why is it so hard to be good? Sometimes you gain nothing and waste time. So,for me at least, being good is like being evil to your self.

Maybe, indifference is the only thing is usefull in life. Why bother helping others when you might gain nothing.Istead of helping pointlessly, you could focus on your self or help those who you might gain something.

I really do not know what to say for this.Ethics? Helping only for gain?

You are mistaken on so many levels. Being good does not mean you have to be stupid, there is a line for everything.

Very true but then:
Why help you when I think at least is worthless for me?That "I think part is hard"

I really found no reason to think well for helping. The lines, yes lines but where? You help older ppl for moral reasons but young ppl?

I have seen ppl that someone did good to them and they nerver were thankful for it.I know it is not on every human but it really puts my vision towards helping in a question.

Why help when I do not get even a "Thanks" from him/her.I mean, how todo good when you do nto know the object if he is kind?

I despise ungrateful people as much as anyone. But that's not the matter, helping others is a way of life. You don't do it for gain but of course if you see people not even recognize your efforts then you don't bother.

every human has faults & criticisms.
They usually cant see it unless someone points them out or you try to find your own faults.
It's always good to try to correct your faults if you can.
First you have to know that your doing something you think you can do better in.

Interesting that you think that way.I always thought that the sense to live is to have a purpose. Those ppl have for my thoughts no perspective to the life they have.So in theory, they are living "Dead" ppl.Right?
