Yes, but I would like it when people actually showed it by *cough-cough* posting their feedback in the thread (I mean, I somehow have the feeling that the Survivor Lex Fan Club is limited to Ashie, Azagal and Keksimaton lol.) 
QP would be appreciated lol, but no thanks. I've already gotten one.
On a sidenote, if Elvin ever steps down does he get a QP for "What do you see in the Picture?"?

Depends. First I would have to ensure that the community has built me a large padded room. Then I would have to be put in a straight jacket, and padlocked in that room. Then maybe, just maybe I would be crazy enough to Moderate the VW. Some people are just sane enough it would not cause them to want to bounce their heads against the nearest object..but I am not one of them.

Since the only way people seem to get QPs around here anymore is via recommendations, may I suggest doling a few out to some of the excellent recent posts in the math thread??
C'mon people, let's give credit where credit is due. That goes both to the mods and to the rest of you. I want some feel good vibes around here.

Also, as I explained in that very thread..if a Moderator (like me) has limited grasp of the material covered, and with the extream detail in a LOT of the posts..it is difficult to gage which should get a QP. Which is why, in that very thread, I asked for such suggestions.

My view on things:
Qp are very subjective, thereby extremely dependent of the moderator of the given time. Had Planck been a mod he'd maybe have complained of lack of consistency in some parts of it, who knows.
So qp for a given time period must be very dependent of the audience, i.e. the mod, if the post is written to an audience, assumed to know more than the mod in question, thereby occasionally making the posts not understandable for said mod, then it should be no surprise that this mod cannot hand out qp for the work done.
So, if one writes to gain qp, one must know the audience to some degree at least, so one knows how much explaining is needed and how much will be seen as trivial.

I have no clue about math yet I'm still able to understand that what's going on in there is on a pretty high level. You don't have to be a musician to understand that Mozarts music is art on a very high level. Not to say that what's going in that thread is the mathematical equivalent of Le nozze di Figaro but you get the idea. All it takes is reading the posts. So even if the mod is not a mathematician he should be able to see that the posts easily warrent qp's.

The problem with QPs is that instead of creating a positive environment they create a negative one. People start to resent the ease that others seems to be handed QPs. If I put my all into something and it's passed up for whatever reason, and I see person X get another QP for doing whatever, I'm going to be ticked. At that point, what incentive do I have to write great posts? That's part of the reason I got sick of writing in the Glade. I put a *LOT* of time and effort into the RPGs and barely got any recognition for it. Maybe it was because Mighty Mage didn't like me, maybe he didn't give a damn about the Glade, maybe he wanted to avoid the QP fest the Glade used to be; I don't know. All I know is that my work was ignored while other people were handed QPs left and right. It did get better when Misty took over the Glade but the damage was done. At that point, I was resentful that my work was ignored and it stopped being fun. It's a rotten attitude to have in a forum. It should be about fun and interacting with people with common interests, but the arbitrary rewards system ruined it for me.
Oh yeah, I also forgot about the stupid flood protection that's tied to the QP system. Brilliant decision with that one.

Byt do you think that alone should be enough for a qp? So if I write off from my text book about relativism, should I then get a qp? In my opinion, no, a qp must be given for something that adds to the community. Showing high skills in your field without being able to share it with others alone isn't enough. Both must be present before I think it's worthy of a qp.
Qp's would however be somewhat objective, if that alone would do it, but the only judge are the mods (and those who come with suggestions of course, if the mods respect their suggestion that is), and that means you may actually provide something to the community, but just not to the right person.
Also, to be honest, I don't think your mozart example is the best in the context of me (if it's me you are trying to convince). I don't see mozart at some kind of genious at all.
