actually,
yes, it will be a round robin and I'm just waiting a bit before creating a thread. Before we begin, we will do a little research on each player to see if he/she really is a N00b.
I'll try contacting Vesuvius as Lion mentionned. That was a great idea, but we will also show the updates on a thread in HC.
There will be no rules to the game. Basically, we are going to play the game the way it was meant to be, no taking out the DD or fly. All spells will be available, and all heroes too. All castle will also be available. (Conflux and necro)

If Conan doesn't mind...
I am going to contact Vesuvius right now and ask him a few things. I'll be doing this by email, so we'll see how long it takes to "touch base". Anyways, I'll be posting something here after I have discussed the nOOb Competition with him.
One a side note, we'll have to consider that not everyone who plays on ToH is also a member here at HC. So, there will eventually have to be a general announcement at ToH as well.
I'll keep you "posted"...hahaha! (Cheezy, I know) LOL

I realize that the "noob tourney" hit the mark and it seems that many members are interested... Personaly I would prefer to keep it limited to the HC members (since it was due to the many noob related discussions that we have had that inspired the idea. From there, if any of you wish to make a more serious and larger tournament format by contacting organizers from TOH or WW, go ahead.
For the rest, rest assured that the tournament that I would organize would be exclusive to HC... IMO it'll be more fun to start small.
let me know what you think....
(if the majority would prefer a larger scale tourney, I would then step aside to let someone else set it up)

I really like the idea of this tournament... I like how everybody is getting serious and trying to make it work and that it's not just another one of those ideas that never get anywhere.

LOL....... (holly crap I had to hold it my laughter cuz I'm at work....
I think King of the noob should be the winner... "noob court jester" could be the looser!!
I am however reluctant in accepting Angelito and Asmodean's claim to noobness!!! Not that I want to discriminate but c'mon guys!!! One's a mod and the other...... I won't go into details but we'd get destroyed.... How do we decide who is elligible without hurting anyones feelings..... I (we) can make the decision but would like to see what the general concensus is. I'm thinking that once we have a list of potential candidates we could have a period of "accept or contest" for each applicant....

Personaly I don't give a **** if they'r in or not... I don't want to turn someon like Angelito away... God knows he's spent allot of time coaching me on different issues... Don't think I'm trying to make sure that I get the title or anything.... You don't know my loyalties so don't assume anything.... the point of this tourney is to let the noobs go at each other in a fun, non competitive spirit.... I'm sure many of us are intimidated by playing some of these guys in a noob tourney... You could've simply said:" I'm cool with them being in..." and I would have accepted that at face value.... Hehe...
I donīt want to sign in in that tourney to kick all your a**es but to have fun, coz in a game without rules, the game will be over very soon when someone gets DD or fly, catches ALL artifacts and boxes without a fight with these spells and then gets all other towns as well. Donīt know if that is really THAT funny...especially when u have played for 4 hours, did your best in all the fights and get catched by a DD guy..
My suggestion about such a tourney would be a bit different. Games should be played like we wanted to play some days before. 2vs2, 1 experienced online player and 1 (online) newbie in each team.
It would be fun on one hand, and the newbies could learn many interesting things while watching the team mates move.
I would sign in for such a tourney.
But still have a 2vs2 tourney on WW to handle, so time could be close the next days.
Just my 2 cents...

After we have the "king of the noob" tourney, we could upgrade to the "newbie piggy back 2vs 2" tourney...
(man that would be sweet... we could either set up permanent teams or have it on a rotating basis.. in the round robin, every game you play, you're assigned a new partner. (ex: a noob would play with a variety of vets)
And then the highest ranked vet would get teamed up with lowest ranked noob and then you do elimination round!!
dang.... so many tourney ideas!!

take it easy i was just teasing you for the" king of the noobs" thinggie.It's nothing personal and i'm really sorry it came out this way!  I think angelito's ideea it's cool, because as i've said earlier it's suppose to be something fun and "educative" for us noobs..
BTW: Asmodean replied to Conan's reply in Turban Tribunal, so if you have the time make a new thread about the tournament in the tavern and he'll make it sticky or something.

there's allot of pressure and everything is moving so fast!! (sniff!!) ... ( i need a tissue )!!
no prob.... I just wanted to get that cleared up!!!
well if everyone is interested in the 2vs 2 noob vet tourney instead we can definetely look into it!!
( I only forsee one small problem... time zones... ) 1 vs 1 we can make arrangements a little easier with our oponent... and 2 vs 2 would have to be limited time per turn to make sure the games dont last 12 hours...)
Angelito was right when he said: "especially when u have played for 4 hours, did your best in all the fights and get catched by a DD guy.." (but Angel, that happened with us and we played rules.. 4 hour game, you came along and crushed me!! hehe!!!
Tig.. I'm not naturaly hostile, just need to clear up misunderstandings fast and to the point.
I look forward to this no matter what format!!

Ok so we're cool!:)
I like the idea of necro and conflux being brought back to the game, still i'm very much in doubt about dd fly and so on..As Angelito poined out the "luck factor" can be very frustrating sometimes..Even if you got beaten in a previous game at least you know it was all fair and squire, whereas now the outcome will be influenced by some scroll, i just don't think that's fair... but if the others subscribe to that format i'd gladly play too...

(yeah we're coolio!!) no worries....
I'm getting the impression that 2 small tourney's may be in order... The 2vs 2, full online rules (possibly with the addition of conflux and necro) since we'd be 2 per turn that would work ok.....
and the "king of the noob" 1vs1 could be a little side line tourney, no rules, for fun.

Conan's post was more an inquirie.....
you may want to consider waiting until the post for the official invite to the tourney comes up... all the info'll be there asking for interested parties!!! I was planning to discuss all these ideas with Conan then post the thread for the tourney.. (imo)
