McDonald’s, the new sponsor of HC
Due to the lack of response to advertisements on Heroes Community I’ve ran into increasing financial difficulties of maintaining it. I am not the man to beg for money, so I contemplated closing HC completely. Fortunately, by complete coincidence I found someone who could give HC the financial help it requires. I’ve become acquainted a man who turned out to be an executive of the McDonald’s fast food chain and upon hearing about HC and its difficulties he said that McDonald’s have been looking to sponsor an existing web forum, due to difficulties of getting people to come to a brand new forum, and he made an offer which I couldn’t refuse.
So the future of HC is now safe thanks to McDonald’s. Due to this partnership some changes have to be made to the boards of course. The process is still in its draft phase. The executive will personally visit the forum tomorrow to have a look at the changes and approve them. So if you have any suggestions for better integration of McDonald’s and Heroes Community, please post them here. And if you wish to contact the executive, either reply to this thread, which I’ll make sure he reads, or send me an e-mail through HC and I’ll forward it directly to him.
I look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership and I’m sure we will all do our best to make it happen.
EDIT: And a new addition to FAQ is "McDonald's fine restaurant may never be slandered on this site, and any endorsement of any of McDonald's competetion may not be advertised here". Moderators will now be enforcing it.

Although I was completely freaked out at first, I am always open to change. So, I have an idea!!!
When I first came to the site and saw all of the McDonald's stuff, I was sure that a Hacker had gone berserk on Heroes Community; so I have thought up a new burger for the Empire that Ronald built:
McHack Attack
Give it whatever meaning that you want, but I think it would be an appropriate way of ushering in an April fool's joke...ahhh, I mean a NEW AGE in HC!

Of course we're serious.
We at Mc Donald's are currently aware that the biggest eater of our foods are video gamers and we're piloting a new scheme here at McHeroes Community to intergrate video games and our food in a synergistic and beneficial alliance for us all.
We feel that McHeroes Community is the way forward in an exciting new enterprise.
What better snack to munch on with pals while you're waiting your turn in a hotly contested Hotseat match than a supersized Big Mac Meal. Or our fabulous Mc Chicken Sandwich.
What better way to keep you going during those long gruelling McTOH matches as you strive to win that elusive $100 of McDonald's vouchers to be won than a cup of hot McDonald's coffee. (be careful, it's hot!)
And that's not all.
What better way to share your fabulous McDonald's experiences than with this great community.
I look forward to working (and eating) closely with you all.

Thought I was seeing things...
This is sooooo wacky, however true the story turned out to be. It's 3AM and I just came over to the comp after eating loads of chocolate candies and switched on the HC index... only to find that all of the names changed to MCD's stuff! Much like how I found a Wastelands thread about fast food earlier in the day. Thinking this was deja vu, I figured that either I'm staying up way too late or the chocolate candy I ate wasn't really chocolate but actually mushrooms. I was so tripped out, I thought my condition was serious! I too thought initially that somebody hacked the system here. Thank goodness it was cleared here, or else I'd probably get myself committed or something.
McDonald's, huh? Interesting savior for HC. Funny, I had a craving for their food earlier today, but my want was left unanswered. Looks like I'll have to treat myself to a burger tomorrow or else I'll be seeing more trippy MCD's stuff popping up here and there.

I know that this seems a little bit out of nowhere, but the issue of Heroes Community funding has been one that's been talked about for quite some time. You must have noticed changing adlinks for the past while, and some time back I tried reminding members where they can find the paypal link to donate (no one used it)
For any of you that have read Val's PP you know that he is on his own, and working hard at being independant, not only is this sponsorship good for him - but it's good for all of us with Heroes V coming, now we have no worries that HC will go away
I'll admit that when Val first mentioned this to me some time ago I thought it would never happen - but it did, and as always I'll support his decisions 100%.
Even though the forums have different names, everything will still be the same- so don't worry that this means a change for the Community - if anything it's a change for the better.
Just a reminder too, that if you have suggestions for board improvement please post them, as now we have new resources with which to make Heroes Community even bigger and better! Supersized, if you will

The new categories are misleading. We are not here
to discuss Mcdonalds competitors nor ways of eating
Mcfood. A new person will be kinda of confused as to
what is going on in this board. There must be a better
way, like a big banner ad rather that changing all the
names. Of course, if its a joke....

That's true, we discussed the different ways of introducing the changes - and McDonald's was interested in branding throughout the boards. I think you're eright that we need to find a means to do that and keep the Heroes Community flavour alive as well.
I'm thinking the forum names might stay, but the original write up for what each forum contains could also stay.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why would Val not do it? McDonald's Restaurant has always been in support of the same values that Val has shown us in the Code of Conduct he wrote for this board.
Remember that while McDonalds is of course best known for its restaurants, the company is also a strong supporter of Community events. They are always supporting charities, and offering scolarships and assistance to community programs. The Ronald McDonald house has existed for years in helping families deal with children's ilnesses.
I realize that because today is April first, it is easier just to assume this is all a joke - but any help that you may offer in making this transition smoother would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

I wasn't trying to make a connection between NewZealand and the Ronald McDonald house, I was just trying to illustrate that the McDonald's corperation extends far beyond burgers
McDonald's is a global company, and support many different things so long as they uphold the core values that McDonald's has come to represent.

It's a World Wide one.
