it seems the best are storm elemental.
I would also say dwarfs because they are the toughests and gargoyles which are good in every domain.

Storm elementals and marksmen. A little bit weaker are dwarves and magogs. The worsest are zombie.

The Storm Elematals are overpowered, so I woun't count it. I like Wolf Raiders (upg.).

Storm Elementals stats is great therefore 1st place for them. But i think this is injustice.
IMO second place is Harpy Hags and third place is Wolf Raiders they are great warriors and have a specials.
Worst is everybody knows Zombie

Marksmen: shoot twice, cheap, plenty. downside: low hp
Worst lvl 2: walking dead

If you can keep the Wolf Raiders alive, it's definately the strongest force among the second level units. (Not counting Storm elementals)
Walking dead is the worst.

hahaha... It may be noobish, I know they have poor dammage and are slow but i can't help it I just love the Zombies! I've always been a Zombie fan and nothing is bether then beating my opponents with Zombies. I don't use Zombies at expert players though.

Most level 2 units have their uses :
Marksmen - excellent shooting unit (must be upg)
Storm Element - more than excellent shooter (must be upg)
Dwarf - great blockers , 3 stacks of dwarves can protect your elves for enough rounds for the elves to shoot down the enemy
Harpy Hag - scout movement , excellent at fighting slow units or blocking shooters (must be upg)
Lizard Warrior - ok shooter (must be upg)
Wolf Raider - heavy double striker, map movement , need to be handled carefully (must be upg)
Gargoyle - on snow is good enough for blocking shooters, also can be used as block for MG-s or to lure slow enemies where you want them on the battlefield. Upgrade would be nice but tower can almost never afford it early enough to make a difference ....
Gog - shooter , 3 gogs = 1 demon
Walking Dead - the only unit that has practically no use in the game

Lizards have 50% more health,a lot more defense,and higher damage.

yes, if you look to the stats, they are really good, assuming that you play SoD. But they simply seem to do mediocre dmg.

They do not have higher damage. Lizard Warriors deal 2-5 dmg while marksmen deal 2-3 dmg twice. So practically LW have an average dmg of 3.5 and Marksmen have an average of 5. They are also faster with 6 speed over 5.

Why would you even cinsider speed if you are using shooter?Even if Marksman shoots twice Lizards defense is almost 3 times higher and they have +50%health.

If i remember correctly units with higher speed act before the slower units.
They do not have 50% more health. Also why should i care about their defense and hitpoints - they are not supposed to get hit anyway...
