Black Dragons. DUH.

Arch devils can win impossible battles against the neutral guards by using wait in conjunction with no retaliation. you can actually defeat throng of iron golems with only one A D if u use the proper tactics and if you have 1 hour to waste

Gold Dragons & Black Dragons - both are tough , good attack & defense, good speed , good damage , and magic immunity.
But i choose them because I love Dragons

I don't have any specified favourite. I rarely invest in hydras, devils and bone/ghost dragons. They are too weak for their price and creatures from lower levels in insane amounts can be so devastating that 7-level units are not necessary.
So, when it comes to name my favourite, let it be a black dragon because of its looks and immunities. Titans are great as well because they shoot.

Several years ago I run 1 on 1 on all 7 levels, equal att/def heroes, no bonuses of whatsoever to damage, speed, neutral terrain for both, did 3 out of 3 and etc. Archangel beats all but a Behemoth and a Black Dragon ( yes, a black dragon wins a 1 to 1 with the AA ). My top list:
1. Archangel
2. Black dragon
3. Ancient Behemoth
4. Gold dragon
5. Titan
6. Chaos Hydra
7. Phoenix ( x2 for equal comparison )
8. Arch Devil
9. Ghost dragon
I see many people quoting the spell imunity of the BD, however it can`t take beneficial spells either and hero with Archangels has the first move which might be clone and deliver more damage to the dragon stack than implosion and force the dungeon hero lose one of his stacks hit or a spellcast to deal with the clone.

there is no best 7 level creature because you never fight them 1v1 to see which one beats which one. Sure, the AA has the best stats but he's not the best creature even in 1v1 combat where the ancient behemoth will own the archangel most of the time.
And when you put AAs against mighty moos, or chaos hydras, or ADs, he's not that tough anymore. It's all about your style of playing and which 7th level creature you need to accomplish what.
For example, blessed and counterstriked chaos hydras teleported into the enemy field will unleash hell.
Now, since there is no best level 7th creature (or any other level for that matter) my favorite 7th level creatures (by design) are the ArchDevil, the Titan, and the Phoenix. But I like Fortress a lot so Chaos Hydra is among my favorites as well. I don't like the AA not a bit, and don't like the Black Dragon either. I don't know why I don't like these, I just don't

Most likely Phoenixes are the best but Conflux is lame so they don't count.
There are some not too good ones like Ghost Dragons and Devils, but I think all the others are rather good. Maybe Hydra is a little situational but if you can pull it off they are amazing. Titans and AAs are amazing and so are Blacks but their dwellings are also very expensive while Hydra Pond or Behemoth cave is rather cheap.

Yeah, I like the AD too, how it looks like, the colors, the teleporting ability, the "no retaliation" one and so on and so forth. It may not be the best 7th level creature indeed, but I like it and I won't discuss this
Also, I agree with someone who said earlier that Ghost Dragons are the worst 7th level creature, I really couldn't agree more. While all other 7s are situational, for GD I really see no use in any situation. I'd transform them all into skeletons if I'd get 1k skellies or so for each ghost dragon  .... And I'm sure I never saw their aging ability more than once or twice in my entire life, not even on weaker units. So....

Ghost Dragons are fragile and don't have much going for them alone, but in the Necro army they're a valuable assets. While they could stand alone as the backbone of an army (though one of the weaker ones at that), they don't have to, while other armies rely much more heavily on their level 7 units, Necropolis have threats from several unit levels.
