I'm not sure if anyone said this before (I'm too lazy to look up the entire 40+ pages of the thread to clarify), but here it is:
You cannot have a Knowledge stat of zero.
Case in point: I was playing as a Barbarian hero (Shiva to be exact), and naturally, their knowledge stats are always 1. Anyway, I picked up the Titan's Cuirass (I think that was it), which increased spell power at the cost of knowledge. When I saw my hero's stats, the knowledge was still at one. Then I came to that conclusion.

That's right Foofa, it's been said earlier on. In fact, the base stats are Attack = 0 , Defense = 0 , Spell Power = 1 and Knowledge = 1.
Like any thing that's counted, at some very, very high point, a little more is a lot less. When you have 99 Attack or Defense, the next "level" is 0. When you have 99 Spell Power or Knwoledge, it's 1.

I thought that bug about the skills wrapping around after 99 was fixed a long time ago.

So you basically say that there's a newer version than Complete 4.0 ?
Cause I'm absolutely certain it's still there in it.

When I wrote that I was going by what I've read at HC. I never tested it until just now. (using Complete)
Started with all 99 stats at level 1. Leveled to level 46. The level-up screen showed the stats increasing. In the hero screen the stats stayed at 99. The creature stat stayed at +99. The damage in a fight was 400% of base damage. I didn't check if spell damage changed, but spell points stayed the same.
I did this about 6 times with two different heroes.
Also, adding Necklass of Bliss didn't change the hero or creature stats.

Dude, you didn't test it long enough. Also, since you say you based your previous comment solely on what you've read in HC, I understand that you missed the detailed post I've made about this long ago.
I'll check for it and/or for my original tests. Anyways, the thing is when you reach 99, you STAY at 99 for a long, long time. THEN you drop to 0 (for Att/Def) or 1 (for SP/Know) and from there on the stats start a new cycle of leveling up again. And it's an infinite loop for each stats (you can have stats 99-0-1-36 lmao). It's very similar to what happens when you have too much gold : you go bankrupt.
A similar loop/bug exists for the Hero Level as well. Say you have 2Millions XP points (by memory it's somewhere between 2 and 3 Millions). You get some more XP, then you fall to -2 or 3 Millions XP points. And the more XP you'll get from there on, the closer you'll go to ZERO. Oh, during that your hero's Level is ZERO as well, btw. When you turn positive again in the XP department, he'll turn to Level 1 again, and so on. Eternally.
But each count is separated. You can have a Level 0 HERO with 99 Attack, OR a Level 108 HERO with 0 Attack !

I almost forgot about this. I meant to test the primary stats in ROE, but forgot.
Legend, I see what you are saying now. We might be talking about two different things. As I said, I haven't tested it, just going by what I've read. Maybe I misinterpreted what was said about ROE.
I understood that in the original ROE, once you reached 99, it wrapped around on the very next level. Supposedly this was patched. It may be that they just raised the level to a very high point that couldn't be reached through normal gameplay, but you can still get there during testing.

puzzle map for allied players
I hope this is new for some of you:
The puzzle map reveals slightly different parts for each of the allied players. This makes grail seeking easier.
Reason is that the parts of the puzzle are shaped differently for different starting town (types).
I hope it is clear what I want to say.

are you sure about this? i'm quite sure once the AI sacrificed my stack of ogre magi to get my gold dragons back... (i pressed the auto combat button cos i knew i'd win anyway and i didn't care how much i lost... and my hands were tired) it was the map "serpent's treasure", at the end, the underground part =)

I never knew this. So of course I had to test it. On my test map it sort of worked, but it appears to be a bug. I couldn't make it work in a real game.
On the test map, the first hero would visit the spring. If I only had 2 heroes, the second one could visit the spring also (I didn't test enough to know if this is consistent). But if I had more than 2 heroes, at least some of the others could not visit.
When I had 8 heroes, the 1st one would visit. I checked the other 7 and 4-5 could visit and 2-3 could not visit.
Edit: This is clarified in the next few posts
About Gold Dragons and sacrifice. Sacrifice is a level 5 spell, but the resurrect part is level 4. So Goldies can be sacrificed, but not resurrected. Black Dragons are immune to both. And Efreet Sultans are immune to both, so both halves of the spell are treated like fire spells.

It only works if the spring has both hexes available to "visit", coz it's a 2hex wide object.

You can double your spellpoints one time in the left hex and one time in the right hex of the magic spring every week. I dont see how both hexes can not be free to visit. I think that needs a little explaining.

It didn't even occur to me about the left and right side. I rechecked and it works consistantly now, once on each side. I wish I knew about this six years ago.

Amazing how new things keep popping up after all these years, isnt it?
I found out about this only a few months ago. I had a magic spring on the road and went throug both hexes with severel heroes to save movement. Noticing that 2 heroes got double spellpoints was quite a supprise. Even after that it took me a while to find out what exactly had happend.

If this would work with resources on a marketplace, I would be very happy...lol
