You forget the growth-price tag ratings in those. As you could see in my above test, the wizard town started FULLY BUILT, whereas the other player only had a fistful of ghosts to start with. Due to their high growth by killing weaker creatures, Ghosts increase so ridicully fast, that they will defeat Titans once you put a month of titans vs. a month of ghosts, as shown in my test.

You need quite a big amount of ghosts to dispose of a moderate number of Titans, that much is true. However, it's SO easy to get such high number of ghosts, making the titans the losing end in a hero vs. hero battle such as the one I conducted.

Yes in my test, I was just testing out when the Titans would stay for much longer with the increasing amount of Ghosts and seeing which was more powerful, and in my test the Titans were.

Look at the numbers in my test.

20 (could've been 21) vs. 958 Ghosts. THOSE are realistic numbers to obtain. Test THAT out and post your findings.

Good tests William!
But even from them you can see that Ghosts beat Titans at game conditions. It takes 200 Ghosts to beat 10 Titans. Lets say it takes 235 Ghosts to beat a monthly growth of 12 Titans. If you have plenty of resources and a fully built Wizard town on day 1 and your enemy has a town with no structures and no acces to it (just for the player to stay in the game), and 10 Ghosts. You will get 12 Titans at a month. The enemy will go around the map, killing neutral creatures and by the end of the month will have 500 - 600 Ghosts (for free) and that is enough (as shown in your tests) to beat even 20 Titans (even if you have expert archery).
Yes I love Titans to, and I know that they are the strongest creatures (together with the Black Dragons) and tacticaly the best creatures (having all the advanteges they have), and for me, the best creatures of all time.
But still, I look at the facts from a neutral view point.
And the facts show that the Ghosts huge growth rate (that comes from their special ability) makes them the best creatures, as quantity beats quality. Nothing, no matter how strong can beat those numbers. The Ghosts are so strong that they even unbalance the game, and that is propably the reason we don't see them in most of the maps. Ghost are always to many to lose to anything or anyone.
And Csarmi, what is the adress of your site? I want to get Supersonics map so we can all have a multiplayer game to solve this arguement!

It's redundant to test with different number of titans. You do not seem to understand that

10 titans vs 200 ghost = 20 titans vs 400 ghosts = 50 titans vs 1000 ghosts = x titans vs 20*x ghosts (x>4)

These fights are exactly the same.

Still your tests show that approximately 18 ghosts needed for every titan to win.

Now the one with the ghosts will probably attack you with 700 ghosts vs 7 titans sometimes week 3...

I did not receive the map at my email address

edit: I did receive it on the email address posted on my profile

BUT

there is a reason I told you to send it to my gmail.com address; I seldom use my freemail one, it is usually full with spams and I certainly delete any mail received there from strangers with attachments on sight...

Fortunately, i found it in the trash.

You may find the file at:

Still you will get more Titans that way, and if you have expert Diplomacy then you will get even more Titans, that is if the wandering Titans are willing to accept

Dude, just download the map, so that we can show william who's da DADDY! Okay, william, we don't blame you for your ekhm... mistakes, but if you don't stop talking bul....., then this map it's the only way to show you which creature is da best.

Basically, the map is full of monsters, so that the ghost player will have a challenge on how to get more ghosts than lose, cause wanderings are pretty tough. Second thing is that there are seldom resources, so that all other players will have a challenge in getting to 7 level dwelling. When william loses ( I assume ), I will create a rich map with weak monster (complete opposite), to see. If william is wiped out on this one, we are victorius. This map is for 6 players, so that everybody, who thinks that barbarian rox, or sorceress is da bomb, can play. Soooo, what are we waiting for?

PS: William, 13 out of 18, heh? Just delete the ones about 500 titans (unless you like to play a game that lasts 167 in-game week, which is 3 in-game years) and you'll see. 20 titans is also rare.

No offense william, I have my own opinion and you have yours (I am so bad using his tactic... )

If it's double the population of titans, it will place them. If it's just like +something, it won't. Everybody has the map? Now we need to give each other our IPs. William, do you know what an IP number is?

Not true, sorry.
No higher than level 4 units will be placed on the map when population doubles.

I meant that the week of thw Titan will increase your Titan growth rate by however much it is by that week only, I wasn't talking about Titans being placed on the map because of week of the Titan.
And also you cannot change someones opinion of something just by defeating them, if you defeat me online when I have my mighty Titans, then I won't change my opinion, you can't just say that your gonna show me whos the best, because I think my Titans are AND THATS MY OPINION and you can't change that.
Titans are considerably more stronger than Ghosts, they will beat them anyday.

Let me put it in more simple wordings, my friend William.

1 Titan beats 1 Ghost. True.
3 Titans (Week production) beat the number of ghosts you get from a barrow mound. True.

Week Production of Titans Loses to Week Harvest of Ghosts. Also True.

Your opinion is based on 1v1 battles, in which the Titan still loses to the Black Dragon (Refer to the Titan v Black Dragon thingy found in the Heroes II section of the main site). But in HoMM, 1 on 1 doesn't count. It's overall usefulness too. A good example can be found in the Hydra. While it is arguably the strongest LV5 unit, it isn't the most useful due to it's extremely low speed.

The Titans are powerful, and very versatile. High speed, GREAT ATK and DEF, but they on themselves cannot take on a stack of ghosts that has grown through battling.

So THAT is why the Ghosts will ALWAYS be the top star of HOMM2 when it comes to usefulness, their extremely high growth make them perfect map sweepers.

Hydras are the strongest????!!!! Hydras are 2-nd weakest level 7.

They're talking about Hydras from Heroes 2, which were quite powerful for their level. They were very slow, but dealt good adjacent damage and could take tons of punishment. Well, at least compared to the other Level 5 creatures.

I've found that if you can possibly get a large army of Hydras, by either Diplomacy or from multiple towns, that power stack will ensure your victory over the remaining course of the game. It might be less effective when playing against humans, but little can stop an army sporting a horde or throng of Hydras.

Oops, I missed that. Btw, I found hydras to be perfect defenders. Your spells and towers will kill all shooters who can't do a whole lot of damage because of castle walls penalty. They can cast spells on hydras too, but it won't make me cry Once the walls are down and the shooters are dead, they have to come and get your hydras with their walkers and flyers and this is where the hydras will shine.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention how good it feels to send the enemy shooters a present of a few dozen Hydras in the middle of combat. The Teleport spell does wonders for the slow Hydras, leaving the enemy scrambling to defeat something they obviously can't.
