Enough is Enough.
Frankly I've had enough. I stayed up late last night to make everyone an enjoyable joke with the avatars on time for 1st april. Then I come this morning to find a bunch of excuse me crap posted by a moderator, and another ex-moderator cursing, and people thrashing HC all over the place with flood and spam.
Some people actually care about HC enough to sponsor things like the april joke which is really cool, to write thoughful posts, and be considerate. But other post their useless worthless spam all over the place just to ruin it for everyone else. What sick perverted pleasure to you get from that? I don't have a clue how you can look in the mirror and call youself a decent human being breaking what others worked so hard for.
I spend hundreds if not thousands of hours working on HC, and the same amount or more on AOH, I barely get anything in return financially for it, no appreciation, and people just come and thrash the place when you do your best.
I've been thinking about this for a while now, but what happened today with people and moderators making a total abuse despite being asked not to, is the last straw. HC will now have a paid subscription membership. If you don't appreciate HC and people who contribute to it, go away. If you do, you won't mind showing your appreciation financially.
I'll be thinking about the exact details over the next week. The fee is likely to be $5 per month or $50 per year. People who don't become paying members will be restricted to 20 page views and 1 post per day. I'm sure this will greatly improve quality and get rid of spam. Also this will ensure that I have financial motivation to keep improving the place, making new features, etc, and can even give rewards to good moderators who do their job honestly without unexpected crap. The good quality of HC posts will be significantly improved, as well as the features of the boards as a result of this, and moderators and I will get what we deserve for giving up our time.
DS is now silenced and RSF is removed from the mod squad. I don't want to spend my weekend dealing with this mess. I hope there are decent people still left who can help to clean it up.
Spent half a year working hard out on HOMM sites and this is what I get in return. Thanks.

There are 2 sides to everything
Maybe you should ask about other people thoughts and insights on this "disgrace". Yesterday I couldn't get myself away from the PC all of that begining with the avatar joke and then all of RSF threads which are just dumb but they are soooo dumb that they are funny like hell, and then Dingo coming along and becoming a praiseworthy hero LOL, I was rolling on the floor!
It was just 1 day of the year when people can let themselves go I for once think I made quite a contribution to the joke with hurting anyones or anything check here and here.
I just want to say that I for once enjoyed that day very much, it was the best day for me ever...
Just my 2 cents...

Pay for HC, thats like asking all the kids to pay with thier lunch money?
Of all the bad modding you done, this takes the cake.
I mean, cant you have 1 sense of humour, sheesh.
Bad enough you Ban Stiven just because he speaks his mind, & blow up cause we have a little fun but now you charge us.
This is crap man.
Not in good mood now because Sox one my good friends nota mod because he went a little too far & Yea Slayers silenced, cool but this.

I've been busy teaching 180 12 year olds and Im sure that you deal with more snowing, whinning and cryin' in one day than I do in a week!
I've watched you put up with all this BS for a while now and have to admit that Im happy to see you finally say "n'uff is e'n'uff!!"
damn right nobody appreciates what you've done and frankly I say f*ck'em! Get rid of the drift wood and let those that appreciate this place rebuild it. To the rest, get your head out of your ass, and remove yourself from that cozzy secure seat that you've infested for I don't know how many years and stop waisting our time, energy and enthousiasm...
some of you are mature enough to decide if this is an april fools joke... actually, from what I've seen, I guess you're not.

To be perfectly honest, if I spoke my mind you would at least penalize me.
This paid membership has to be the worst thing you could possibly do to HC, Val. You will run this place into the ground. I can't say just how many people will leave HC. I know for a fact that Glade survive under these conditions. You can probably also kiss Tavern goodbye, Other Side as well.
But first of all, silencing Dragon Slayer and all the penalties to Aculias is not fair. It was just a prank and it was my idea. I'm to blame for this not them. You should lift the silence on him. I told him it would be okay and so he trusted me.
Second, you are overreacting way too much. Many people thought my pranks were all in good fun and had a great laugh. There's no way I should be removed from moderator.
Take a chill pill man. Let the penny drop from between your ass cheeks once in a while. The reason this board was so great for so long was the fun atmosphere and funny members. That has been slowly going away for the past few years. Sometimes there are still times of good fun, but it's never as fun as it used to be.
Finally if you don't reconsider on removing the penalties from Dragon Slayer, and not make this website paid, then you can count me out. I won't be coming back to HC. You can say goodbye.
I'm not going to sit here and try to convince you like people did with the arguements about Sir Stiven, because you are unwilling to change your mind, once its been made. I'll just hope that you can come to your senses.

Wtf? I remember last year's joke, with Dingo "stealing" RSF's account or something, it was fun. I laughet my ass off. But!
Remember it is 1 april, so Val must be making a joke or something, he is a too kind person to charge money for a thing he does from the bottom of his heart.

Whatever Jebus. I've done a lot to help this website. You haven't done anything. You gave up on this place a while ago. When is the last time you posted actively. You didn't see that Pandora made PT Club. That thread was fun and you weren't around, cause you gave up. And now that something big happened, you want to come back and make yourself look good.

I can tell when hes serious or not & hes pissed.
Especially when he does this then leaves because i dont see him.

What the Hell? I go to work for eight hours and all hell breaks loose?
Val, how can you de-mod RSF? You know damn well it was all in good fun. The both of us told you like two weeks ago that we were going to have some fun for April Fools Day. His mess could have easily been cleaned up and you know that.
My personal opinion is you should re-instate him. The reason I'm posting this here and not in Mod Squad is I know everyone will back me up when I say RSF has done a lot for "your" community.
As far as the payment plan goes I don't see why when I said there would be changes you got mad at me when you planned on announcing it anyway. I'm sorry but I think you're wrong Val.
