Sorry I didn't get what skill you are talking about... I thougth this was about Warlocks Luck/Dwarfen Luck/Emphaty and neither of those require Sorcery...
Besides by the time you get the Warlock's Ultimate the elemental damage is far from tremendous...

Well, Expert Dark Magic + Puppet Master + Frenzy + hordes of raised creatures + Raise Dead + Mark of the Necromancer + Expert Sorcery = Giving the dwarves a pretty tough match I am not saying that necros will kick dwarf butts, I just say that other factions have a few nice tricks too
Btw, you should not talk about bless, as you have not tried it in action yourself

You are right. Necros troops doesnt kick dwarves troops because they dont have to. Let the dwraves kill themselves  . Frenzied or puppet mastered stack cannot use rune of exorcism.

I am not a good player as you i am sure...And probably my vote wont change anything but I just want to say my opinion. I belive Haven and Academy are battle the first place in the most powerfull races followed close by Necropolis. In every game that I played -I am playing defensebly(is that a word??I dont think so) all the time-I foud that I do better with those races than others. Dungeon is a cool race for rushing but my finnal vote goes to....Academy...because it is too strong sometimes. Happy voting

acually you can use runes agaisnt all spells except frenzy and if you armor of forgotten hero,luck magic resistance and dwarven luck almost every spell is resisted so once again....

Honestly don't think there is a strongest or weakest faction. Depends on who is playing the faction. For instance..Academy. I can not seem to play Academy good at all. Somebody could give me bonus starting cash, bonus starting troops, and still wipe the floor with me, regardless what town they play. That is against AI or Multiplayer.
Against the AI, I seem to do best with Sylvan. Even on the hardest setting, I just walk all over it. Necro's are my second choice.
Multiplayer I can't seem to get anything going with Sylvan, or Necros. Yet despite the fact that I am horrible at Inferno, if I play inferno in Multi I tend to do pretty good.
So, it depends on your skill level, your play style, and other factors.

Best or worst I tend to think of the factions played by an equally skilled player and some factions will just sweep opposition too early or too late. Of course in fast paced games chance can play a great role like geting destructive and warmachines with sylvan.

Not a bad for choices for strongest factions. Haven is best might oriented and academy is best magic user(or what I think).

Yes indeed but if Rungemages have those items but what happens if Necromancers have Staff of Sar-Issus? and maybe sandroīs cloak ? Yes they are rare items but so it os armor of forgotten. But letīs just say that both factions can beat each other (but necros still better)

I must say dungeon.
They are strong all the time.
And their magic... pure evil.
However the Black Dragons look small and ugly.
But my favorite faction is Sylvan.
Love all the creatures except Bladedancers and im not a big fan of Spirtes either.
I loved Findan with lots of shooters.

I agree with that statement. I like the Fortress, the Necropolis and the Inferno a lot but I must say I have a hard time playing the dwarf army whereas I can cope rather well with the Necromancer and the Demon Lord.
I'm not a big fan of the Dungeon although I must recognize the fact that empowered spells rule. Knowledge can be a serious limitation early in the game but in the end... I used to think that the Dungeon is the worst enemy of the Dungeon. Of course if a large stack of familiars steal your hero's mana the game is pretty much over.
Now with TotE we have the Stronghold and shatter magic. I've always been a fan of the Stronghold faction (ever since Homm2) and I can't play any other faction these days. I'm still learning a few tricks...
The main difference between factions is the fact that some factions are very independant. Necromancers, Demon Lords and Barbarians rely on their own troops to fight and they aren't so effective with the troops of some other faction (no raise dead, no gating or no blood rage). The IA will often mix different troops and sometimes this will work quite fine (adding titans to Haven troops) and some others it won't be convincing. Furthermore some heroes don't need very powerful troops to blast away whereas others boost certain troops and are almost useless without these troops. Take a high level Sinitar or a high level Kragh for instance they can wipe out entire stacks provided their own troops don't die too quickly.
There is always a place for luck though. I played Vrok once and I faced another Demon Lord. His familiars won the initiative and drained my mana. It would have been really annoying if my own stack of familiars hadn't drained his mana right after that. My hero could cast spells, the AI's couldn't. By that time the battle was pretty much over.

this poll is over a year old,it doesn't even include fortress or stronghold,and there are ppl who keep sayin there's no strongest faction blah blah blah...
but the reason i started that poll in the first place was because when the hommv was released it was so clear that some factions were superior and the others were pathetic compared to them,like V 1.00 klaus,pfft,unfortunately now sylvan is overpowered,and orcs with their ultimate are just carzy

Ok why do you think that sylvan is overpowered?From all faction probably i hate this one the most(and probably those crazy empowered spells of a warlock and his dungeon)

Don't get cute kiddo. As far as I can see this thread is not locked, so you should be glad that there are "ppl" who are still contributing to it.
Or perhaps you're just annoyed because you may have realized by now (thanks to hindsight, an entire year to ponder on things) that saying that any faction is "the strongest" is moot. There are too many factors to take into account.
This being said, I enjoy constructive posts, but the "blah blah blah" comment is rather a poor excuse for an argument.
And I'd like to know as well if you could be more specific about the Sylvan faction.

what i meant,that ppl keep saying there's no strongest faction when the title is really old,back when hommv was released there was for sure a strongest faction,i know now they're better,but i still think late game sylvan is a joke,espically with the high int,speed,multiple units attack,and great deff and the favoured enemy thingie.
and when i use blah blah blah,i mean etc,etc,etc...
u just take stuff too personal,blah blah blah isn't an insult or an excuse for anything
