Quote: well, for me academy is overpowered -> great early/mid and late game ( if the aca player knows what he is doing) and thats the problem -> all the factions are strong only in one particular part of the game ( haven/sylvan/inferno/fortress - late; necro - mid, dungeon mid-late), while academy just rule them all Quote:
Well things are not that simple, since Academy is really resource consuming by default,so if something is limited, you cant progress with them as much with other factons.
And if we take artifacts into account, making a lvl3 mini is ridicuilously expensive..not to mention if you want to make 7 of them....

the 25 k gold that haven needs each month to train pallies is the same 25 k gold that academy uses to buy artifacts, and the longer the game the higher the chance to get some "weak" artefacts as ring of speed, some of the necro set arties, or lions crown, or knowledge boosters - just a few examples, besides is a map that has tons of gold but almost no resources balanced ? That simply means that haven can beat academy only on imbalanced map.
about sylvan - the only wrong thing here is that they can get aura of swiftness -> its not the overall speed bonus that it gives, but the "breaking" bonus - from 7 speed to 8, which combined with the sylvans high initiative is just wrong, still its not enough to beat academy with init arties, and dont forget the storm wind here, its impact on sylvan is much much heavier than on academy
about fortress - same early game as the guys above, week 2-3 phoenix settles the things
and i still think that u mean haven/sylvan/fortress lategame, how about early game ? the overall chance to win/lose is important, not the chance only in lategame ( and how about early phoenix vs disabled balista ?, havens + fortress chances for early battle just vanish, and sylvan is weakest of them early game - not evea a ballista, just for some better creeping)
so academy beats its stronger might foes early game, while the other factions are beaten lategame ? if you call this a balance ...
pls, dont want to hear that dungeon will charge, 10 init dragon and 11 init riders dont stand a chance vs artificed gargs and djinns( both will have more then 13 init ), and if that isnt enough aca can get storm wind just for the 10 init dragon , besides frenzy/puppet vs high att but low def dungeon may make the battle very boring
edit: the mini arties are something that you will face lategame, early game a phoenix/destructive > all the might factions ( new gremlins wtf ? no ballista )
lategame - arties + storm wind > necro , dungeon etc

Meh week 2-3 maps are imbalanced by nature. H5 has the best balance within week 4-6 without too much gold or too many resources, that is why mapmaking was so crucial in preserving multiplayer. I do not like that but it is possible to adapt to it.

100% theory. Also 100% wrong
Earlygame academy would fear dungeon more. Much faster in levelling, developing and rushing. Maybe also necro if the wizard does not have decent destructive spells.
Either way you need to play more, preferably multiplayer veterans on balanced maps
