I have just started playing D2 and was wondering if anyone has compared an assassin with Martial Arts as the forte and then the traps?

This January marks the one year mark of my Diablo 2 experience. In celebration of it, I thought I'd post three of my best items from my inventory. These aren't necessarily up for trade, but I figure you guys were interested in what I've been collecting.

Diablo II is a good game!
I was always pretty bad at it.
Never got past the second quest.
But I was only 5 at the time, so don't blame me.
These days, I'm good with these types of games.

Single player
I was reading around on the Arreat Summit and found a way to make the guys tougher and get more exp in single player like u do in multiplayer games. You know how the guys get tougher when theres more people.
When in Single player game, not online, hit enter then type "/players #" #= any number between 1 and 8. Keep in mind that if a monster would normally have 100hp in a 1 player game if u set the players to 8 it will have 800hp. But the good news is the exp they give goes up as well.
Experience = X * (n + 1) / 2
X = base experience
n = # of players in the game
Meaning if the monster would have given 100exp with 1 player with 8 it would give you 450exp.
100 * (8 + 1)/2
= 100 * 9/2
= 900/2
= 450
Anyway I went through the whole game like this with an assasin and by the time I beat Diablo I was 34 or 36, and by the time I beat Baal I was level 47. I didn't even have to do any lvling up. Although ounce or twice if my exp bar was almost full I would kill some guys to get the lvl before fighting a boss.
Toughest part doing this was killing all the guys just before Baal with only my Shadow master and Merc to help. Was doing ok till the last 2 groups of guys.

I had started diablo 2 with an amazon a few weeks earlier but I got bored after an hour or two. Started a necromancer now, a lot more interesting 
I'm still lvl 7 and have leveled up raise skeletons and the bone teeth to aim for corpse explosion. Speaking of which does your magic hurt your own skeletons? I'm looking forward to build suggestions.

I suggest playing another game, this one is boring, unrewarding, not satisfying and ridiculous with its trade system, plus swarmed by hackers, botters and dupers.
If you really want to play a Diablo game (why not Diablo 1 + The Dark, then? ):
Hammerdin aka mr. I own-it-all
67 into dex, if I remember correctly
everything else to VIT
standard hammerdin PvM build (I assume you don't want to PvP, and I strongly recommend not to - this game wasn't created for PvP, plus the amount of hackers is sick. Also there is no ranking or any ladder, so you just kill poorly equipped chars and get owned by dupers and hackers.. yawn.)
20 hammer
20 blessed aim
20 concentration
20 vigor
20 holy shield
1 redemption
1 salvation, if you plan on abusing uber glitch
The cheaper, yet I-pwn-them-all-build
Helm: Harlequin Crest with Perfect Ruby
Amulet: Maras
Armor: Enigma Mageplate (may be 15%, but it's just for self satisfaction, as it does not affect your survivability even a tiny bit.)
Weapon: HoTo Flail
Shield: Spirit Sacred Targe with innate 45% resist all, roll 35% faster cast rating (using spirit packs, getting them is boring and they are expensive as hell), do NOT use Zaka, Zaka is for noobs.
Boots: Waterwalks
Ring1: Stone of Jordan, watch out for dupes
Ring2: The most expensive item, rare/crafted ring with 15 DEX and good mods like life/mana/resists
Belt: Arachnid's Mesh
Gloves: magefist or trang oul's gloves
on swap: Spirit in any pala shield, Call to arms Flail
10 Pala combat skillers, good pala torch (I found 20-19 pala T myself when I was playing this boring game, isn't it just WOW? -_-), good annihilus.
there you go, you teleport in the middle of every mob and spam hammers, every hammer instantly kills almost every creature in the game
you are immortal and with mercenary you never run out of mana.
Mercenary:
Act II Defensive merc from nightmare mode (holy freeze aura)
Insight (elite ethereal polearm)
Ethereal Shaftstop
Ethereal Vampire Gaze
Take off his weapon on chaos sanctuary or he will pwn himself due to iron maiden 20 times per game, in that place just use redemption to restore mana and teleport when merc's life starts getting low.
Boring, repetitive and extremely popular but duh
I can throw a few other good builds if you wish
But it's actually better to, idk, play solitaire?
