maybe is just a fear.
Would be wise to encounter a problem once is occured and not while the problem is in the sphere of speculations
which means: 'marksmen overload' is a theoretical problem.
I got squashed by marksmen before and i whooped them as well.
But hey! i got whipped by other animals too..
makes me think..
in conclusion,
let us not allow our n00bness come to early judgements

Here's an updated version of my map Dead Man's Lake, fully compatible with Hammers of Fate expansion.
Update!
There were some minor changes since this was posted. Please redownload the map.
Dead Mans Lake version 2.0 (HoF edition)
I advise other mapmakers to update their maps too, in order to enable new artifacts and runic magic in the guild.

Just a question Betruger how will the name show up in the map loading screen???
Will it be like : Dead man's Lake or more like:
Dead Man's Lake HoF or 2.0
(just so it will be easy to seperate the map from the "standar" one??

I've been super busy lately between work, gym, basketball and social life so haven't had a chance to really touch Heroes or any maps at all.. but I occasionally check here and haven't seen much regarding my maps, so I'll leave them as they are and I just picked up the expansion, so maybe Ill make a map or 2 for that.
With the addition of simultaneous turns maybe Ill try playing my first full online game of H5 haha.

Simultaneous vs Turn based
Btw - does anyone know what triggers the turn based - is it physical distance or possibillity of contact within one day given the heroes speed etc?
If it is the first criteria I guess "we" will have to make maps that have quite some distance between them, not like fatal controversy

Don't forget the silent stalking ability that lets you see half the map. I hope it is done by how far you are movement-wise.

According to manual it's like this:
"Simultaneous Turns only works until the first conflict. A ‘conflict’ is a
situation where players can affect each other. (...) Conflict probability is estimated at the beginning of each
turn. If conflict is possible, the game is permanently switched to the basic
turn-based mode. All the players receive a message confirming this."

Well, to be honest i didn't think of that. I just assumed that everyone will replace the old one with new one, thus have only 1 map - no need to separate anything
Strange thing is, I changed the map name in map properties, and it still shows up as "Dead Man's Lake", it's really confusing because that is just impossible, and yet it is like that
Oh well, I'll leave it as is then.
Update!
I modified the map slightly, placing 2 stacks of wraiths guarding the passage, instead of 1. This way, game should stay in sim-turn mode for much longer, and it doesn't really change gameplay all that much.
If you were able to kill one stack, you'll do fine with 2
Get it from here (same place as above actually)

Having played it online 4 times to the end, made all the appropriate changes so the map find its natural behaviour in game.
This update has taken into consideration 1.4 changes and simultaneous turns.
It is not up yet on toh map page and report list, due to some miscommunication with tournament administrator, however feel free to play and report on dml

so Fatal Contoversy is nearly worthless now when you have (i don't have the expansion pack yet...it'll be released in Poland on the 1st December!!) simultaneous turns because the conflict starts on the third day in the middle

That's what makes this map really interesting It'll be less popular now for sure, but we can't just forever play on maps where you don't see your opponent for 5 weeks, like BfH. It'd soon get boring.

I like the Rise to Power map. It is not a 1v1 bust-through, but it seems reasonably balanced for multiplayer. There are a few ways you can get at your opponent without going through a stack of level 7 guardians.
Can anyone recommend any others like it (either in base package or player-made)? Computer players don't bother me, but they're not necessary either.

very good changes, it keep simultaneous turns active untill 80% game completion. BUT, in order to use the dwarves at their full power, u must update it:
map properties - > enable all runes
each town properties -> enable all runes.
otherwise u are able to build runic guild but u willl not obtain any runes and therefore dwarves will be crippled. runes are game winners definetelly
have a nice day.
P.S. best map so far, imo, good job greek.

Help with Map Editor
After installing the Heroes V expansion pack, Hammers of Fate, I had the snow objects appear in my map editor, but I couldn't use them for some reason.
Thinking I was missing a patch I saw that a 1.04 patch was available I hadn't previously installed so I installed that.
Now the snow items are completely gone from my editor!
So I uninstalled Hammers of Fate and reinstalled it, but still no snow objects.
Anyone know what to do?
Thanks in advance.

Finally figured it out! =) so no need to reply.
