I like the idea of Elves. Ashan needs this kind of creatures, peaceful and admire harmony.
Their forests are the most magical thing in Ashan, and they are very interesting.
The idea of the Dark Elves is a stupid idea. How can guys that want only harmony be DARK? And they are not really evil. What was in Dungeon campaign? According to the campaign, I wouldn't guess they are evil at all.
Anyway, I guess that some of the creatures that was in H3 dungeon (like Medusa), we'll see again in the Naga's faction.

Talking on the Elves here is not spamming.
The question is what do you prefer, H3 or H5 Dungeon.
H5 Dungeon's race is Dark Elves, that come from Elves.
This way talking about the Elves is not spamming.

LONG LIVE ELVES!!!
Elves rock and Lotr elves were awesome... Legolas was just a bit Imbo killing an ollifant by himself ... bit to overpowered!
Elves are great beings and needed in all kind of Fantasy storyline, the only problem is: There is to many kind of elves, Wood elves, High elves, Blood elves, dark elves, Night elves and well who knows how many?! Their should only be one kind elves not 20 !
For the Horde, sad they joined forces with the undead! Baaah!

As far as I know, there are only 2 kind of Elves in HOMM5.
Anyway, I agree with you that only one kind should be.
BTW: the Dark Elves' race isn't really a race.
If there are some evil human, will you do a whole new race for them? Maximum do a renegades' group.

H3 Dungeon
the H5 Dungeon 'discard' some important creature like Harpy and Manticore. Moreover, I think it is better if hydras not living there. They are swamp creatures with enough power to be level 7. Should not be defeated by some'thing' like the matriarches. 
Besides, if we look at the heroes, minotaur-race heroes like Deemer, Darkstorn, or Dace, looks more powerful and cooler than those dark elves with red lips BLEAAAAGH!!!!

Assasin < Troglodytes - Troglodytes are much more interesting
Harpys > Blood Furies - The original is better here
Minotaurs < Beholders - Minotaurs should be in the 5th level
Medusas > Dark Riders - The Medusas are much more interesting
Minotaurs > Hydras - What Hydras has to do with Dungeon? 
Manticore > Witches - Couldn't you find something more boaring then Wiches for the 6th level?
Shadow Dragon = Red Dragon - Shadow Dragon is cooler, but Red dragon is so classic.

1) You MUST be kidding!
2) Ask the ones who made H1 and H2...The Lernaian hydra lived in a cave bordering a swamp. You could imagine it either way, underground or a swamp dweller. After all reptilian monsters like to hide in cool, shadowy places!

Why, cooler ? The shadow and the black dragon in H5 are so equal....
The red dragon is cooler. The idea for Red Dragon in H3 come from The Hobbit (by Tolkien), from the red dragon Smog (not sure for the spelling)Smog sleep on chamber of gold - stealed from the dwarfs, in H3 the red dragons are the same, The Red Dragon RLZ!

I really loved the H3 dungeon. The music was great too. And you wouldn't think about what went on inside the manticore cave...
That was a really chaotic faction. Now it is also nice, but much more symmetrical and way to much Warcraft.
I always liked the warlock faction best though ...

Ofcourse.
It was away too overpowered in H1.
A little bit overpowered in H2.
Very strong, but balanced in H3.
I didn't play in H4 much, but I noticed it was overpowered there, but with low growth ratings.
Like in H4, overpowered with low growth ratings in H5.

Well, those medusas didn't do much against undead. I once tried a strategy of asylum vs necropolis for fun:
I got a death knight for tactics/attack/defence along with my warlock and built efreet and black dragons. Now add +50% to the *high* attack/defense of the dragons and efreet and imagine what a slaughter it was. He just couldn't kill me and hand of death couldn't help much either. The rest were blown up by the warlock.
Naturally my friend had vamps, bone dragons and a necromancer.
