Poll Question: Best Faction Poll
I know that this poll has been done (probably several times) and that there's more than a likely chance tha alc. with lock it. But... who do you think is the stongest faction? I haven't seen this poll since the new patch which drastically changed Haven and Necropolis. Everybody can beat the computer and duel mode is dumb IMO so focus your answers on Multiplayer (non-duel) games.

Without a map context it's impossible to compare but I voted for haven because this training thing can easily get out of control if a map isn't poor enough.

Generally I would say both Necropolis and Inferno. The necros can rise creatures and convert all other troops into undeads; Inferno can gate lots of troops (even Urgash call isn't always that difficult to get). Warlocks are great with few troops.

You are right. Without a map context it is difficult to judge. So specify what type of map you usually play, and who tends to prevail in those matches. As for me, I generally play an extra large, map with no underground and hard creatures through the random map generator (which tend to be resource heavy). I usually win with Necropolis, but my playing buddies aren't as experienced as I am yet either. What is everyone else's experience?

Yes, there have been old Polls, but they did not include Fortress, and balances have changed with new patches, so let's have a go for it.

i'd say Fortress, theirs units are heathy and a decent attack means the live long and never die without taking someone with them

Dungeon for me.. one of the most powerful rushes+great midgame+ok endgame (with hit&run if necessary).. generally the warlock is not dependant on units and - in major part - on resources, and I love such heroes, since they work even under extreme circumstances.

My vote goes for Haven. But it's still anyones game.
In big maps where you can't rush things the Fortress might be the strongest. Runes and Magma Dragons just seems unstoppable in very long games.
Sylvan can be pretty deadly whit elven luck and their avenger ability. Still i thing Dungeon Wizards beat the living sould out of Rangers armies. Dungeon in another hand is not that great in very long games where Might goes over the Magic. Empowered Implosion whit Slippers is allways trouble tough.
I enjoy playing whit Inferno. Deleb and Gating makes good creeping but still i can't thing this is among the strongest fanctions in the game.
I'm mutch more Might player than Magic so Academy is not my first choice. I don't probably see Academys full potential when it's my least favorite fanction in HoMM5.
Necros has allways been my favorites. I liked the new necromancy system but it nerfed the fanction at the same time. When i use all Dark Energy points in day 1 i start to thing how great the original Necromancy was.
Haven is only Might oriental fanction in the game and that is one thing i like about them. Haven is not 'overpowered' as Heroes 3 where in some peoples minds. Haven has good creatures, hero and even light magic can be powerfull weapon in Knights arsenal. Haven has no real weakness and they are allways powerfull in games but never invincible.

Yes, many people whined about AA having best statics and special... Necro and Conflux was imba but that is another story.
In H5: Haven, Fortress and Dungeon are probably in top of my list.

I fully agree. Just as Homer said, it was especially conflux that was seriously overpowered (I even started 'banning' it on my maps ). But that's not about HoMM 5, so back to topic.
Well hard to judge, but I'd go for either one of haven/fortress/dungeon, maybe academy added - I did not researched wizards full potential yet. New necro appear weird (and weak) to me. Inferno is great, great fun to play, but has less potential. And Sylvan? They are very good, yes, but all of the three I've mentioned seem to me to be better.

Nobody likes Inferno? Sure, Deleb and her balista is a bit too powerful, but there are some other heroes, witch make gameplay enjoyable. Their ultimate immiediately disables enemy ranged options, too bad it's available so late. But, Urgash's Call requirements are all useful, not like those of, for example Rage of the Elements.

Nobody gets to use ultimates for multi anyway - they're too hard to get to so I don't really consider it a factor in deciding.

You're right. Still even without it's ultimate gating makes creeping easier. Their army has everyrthing it takes to be versatile - fast level 3 and 5 walkers, handy level 4 ranger and pesky mana stealing familiars. Horned overseers work best teleported right next to enemy shooters. Pit lords and devils have large damage range so they need divine strenght to be effective, however their specials make up for this.
