If the game takes like 3 months on ultra-rich map, nothing can stop fortress indeed (maybe except haven). But such situations happen rarely, besides you can always put some pressure on the shorties

I surprised that Inferno isn't getting more votes. You know this poll includes being able to use Deleb don't you? Maybe they are not as powerful as I thought, even with Deleb.

i agree, i think the polls are really showing how much people dislike Inferno, and surprisingly Necro are low in the polls with Dungeon, odd due to a lot of people saying the think Dungeon is the strongest

Does it really? I find that by the time my units have gated in, it's too late. I mean this against shooters, which is the only place where I really need them.

Huh? Dungeon was called the strongest faction in the very beginning of H5. It's not been called so for quite a long time.

I haven't seen many Dungeon TOH players. None except me in fact. maybe ive played with too few people but i feel like its Angelic side and Necro in game only.

Why yes indeed. IF You how to use them. Gating next to ranged stacks is only one way. The more troops we can gate, the more enemy retaliations they can eat and the more chances there are for hellfire to kick in. Sounds like a fine deal to me

I find inferno strong specially vs magic oponents I mean academy and dungeon... that insane mana imps in much cases leave this kind of heroes is very few mana points... specially if you can get one first turn with all your stack of imps and gate them...

I'm saying that against shooting neutrals they will get a shot in before your gated troops arrive, no matter what skills your hero has. Gating works well against flyers and walkers because they can't hit on the first turn.
I'm more likely to run out part way with my nightmares and hope they get morale.

Thats the whole point. W/o utlimate enemy rangers will manage to get one shot before blocked. But is still better than allowing them to shoot at least 2 times if You want to reach them normaly (unless we have windstrider boots, cerberi and nightmares).

Lol Inferno totally rocks and gating is very useful in gating.
I wont mind having a match with a fortress or dungeon or haven player.

Wooow Academy is the most voted faction !!! Haven isn't a surprise certainly, and all the other towns seem to be balanced in people preferences... I guess this says something about the game : not as big imbalances as there used to be

Haven is a powerful faction, but the patches have turned them from a totally overpowered faction to simply a 1st rate one. With still exploitable Marksmen, and Paladins, on top of their powerful hero choices its hard not to give a nod to Haven.
The Inferno, I would put it up among the weaker factions. Deleb is extremely powerful, but their other heroes don't have the punch that Haven heroes have. Their creatures, while fast, aren't too devestating, minus the Familiar vs. Warlocks.
The Necropolis it seems was either weakened or strengthened by the newest patch. For one, against Sylvan their skelleton archers won't always make the top favoured enemy list, but for another they lose their main advantage. They also can't continue to gain numbers all weak with the new limit. Still with Lucretia those extra vamps might pull their weight. I think that they are a middle of the road faction that can be devastating or weak depending on the map, but is not necessarily one or the other.
I really can't comment on Sylvan or the Dwarves as I rarely play them, but they seem strong-average.
The Academy is where I cast my vote. I used to play the Academy normally and aside from some advantages, I would have classified them as one of, if not the weakest faction. That is until I started playing using the MMR. With this strategy I have seen that the Academy has far more potential than I gave them credit for.
As for Dungeon, I think that they are the most situational. You can theoretically tear everything up with their magic, but there are many counters to that and their units don't have the goods the other factions have. I really think that they depend primarily on the map and your opponent.

I do love also, but IMO fortress is the best, sadly it beats haven with high defence. magma dragons defensive formation offensive formation absolutly damaging rune patriarch

Hmm, actually the results make perfect sense because Academy is considered the best "I will creep like mad, breakthrough everything with magic and rush ASAP while my level, arties and magic are still hot" castle and haven is considered the best "If you aren't fast enough, I'll have enough time to get the best stats and the best army" castle.
So, depending on map's "rushiness" it's either haven or academy.
