Quote: Alc, I am wondering what you are doing, I see you are so active in post's editing... you correct spellings or sth? no offence.
None taken ... I was cleaning the language of the posts - the first post contained a word I found mildly offensive, and when others complained as well, I changed it to a similar word with the same meaning and removed the references to the incident.
Quote: I think I found out why all the elves are blue look closly at the Dryad you may see that there is ice one her vines so I think they may be elves from icy forests and the rainbow dragon would possibly mean the Northern lights plus it would explain why the druid has a wolf hat and the treant is a pine tree.
That does sound likely, yes - you will also notice that the birds flying around the Dryad are Kingfisher (aka. Ice Bird), and that the Anger Treant grows Spruce on the head, whereas the other Treants have Oak.

Hey, yeah, that make sense. Mabey the alternatives will be ones that have spent time in other places!
Dungeon: Spent some time up north, and wears thicker clothing.
Acadamy: Spent time working on the ground, and as such are less fat.
Fortress: Spent time nearer the water, and wear bluer clothing.
Inferno: Spent time in the less flamey regions of Sheogh, and are darker.
etc.

even though it would be fun, i have neither the time, nor the legal rights to make these models, they are in fact the official alternatives for Sylvan, published by ubi on their site

So maybe there will be alternative heroes for each faction...
And they will have another familiar ground with no movin' penalty. But then Elven Familiar Ground ability wouldn't work properly

If they are from the north, they are just as dumb as the dark elves. Look at the Bladesinger, he doestn't look overdressed ! And maybe the northen lights , but ... They should call it Ice dragon, Diamond dragon (a stone type like Emerald makes good sense) or your god damn Azure dragon... rainbow - nope

So maybe sky Elves?
At the begining of each battle they are parachuted on the battle ground...
And they have good camouflage then.

Here's my guesses. I posted them on the Heroes Round Table at Celestial Havens as Alexander I, my other handle.
We already know the Sylvan upgrades, and I think (as much as we'd rather it weren't so) they'll probably use the Renegades as the Haven alternates because they're already done. It'd save them some time and effort.
So here's my thoughts on the other factions. Discuss.
Dwarves:
1. Defender > Housecarl: an offensive version of the unit, has a big war-axe
2. Spearwielder > Schiltron: only 2 shots again, but much higher attack, defense and HP
3. Bear Rider > Ice Bear Rider: rides a polar bear, has some kind of ice attack that freezes enemies temporarily, maybe prevents retaliation (thatd be great, maybe overpowered!)
4. Brawler > Thrall: better stats, but less initative?
5. Rune Priest > Rune Hierophant: more offense, can put enemy units to sleep?
6. Thane > Mountain King: slower, more armor/defense, and an earthquake spell
7. Fire Dragon > Lava Dragon: I have no idea how this would be different from the Magma Dragon
Dark Elves:
1. Scout > Dark Warrior: stronger stats but without the Assassins poison
2. Blood Maiden > Blood Amazon: has double attack instead of no retaliation
3. Minotaur > Minotaur Gladiator: gain better stats but lose the double attack
4. Dark Raider > Dark Raptor: weaker stats than Grim Raider, but has a Retreat ability allowing him to move away in any direction from his enemy after attacking
5. Hydra > Chaos Hydra: no regeneration, nine-headed attack, poisonous
6. Shadow Witch > Shadow Priestess: attack spells
7. Shadow Dragon > Night Dragon: no magic immunity, instead Invisible until it attacks
Undead:
1. Skeleton > Skeleton Warrior: stronger, more heavily armored skeleton, armed with a sword (people would still probably rather have the archers)
2. Zombie > Ghoul: faster movement and initiative instead of weakening strike
3. Ghost > Banshee: female ghosts with Banshee Wail attack, lowers enemy units initiative?
4. Vampire > Vampire Lady: convert enemy units of same or higher level into vampires instead of the Vampire Lords teleport (I figured the undead needed some females)
5. Lich > Demilich: adds Soul Trap ability, enemies killed are brought back to life as undead Shades
6. Wight > Revenant: enemies it kills are permanently dead cant be resurrected
7. Bone Dragon > Ghost Dragon: incorporeal
Wizards:
1. Gremlin > Gremlin Soldier: no repair, but armed with a long musket, double attack
2. Stone Gargoyle > Marble Gargoyle: stronger and faster
3. Iron Golem > Gold Golem: no unlimited retaliation, but faster and with many more immunities
4. Mage > Conjurer: sacrifice energy channel for better stats and more offensive spells
5. Djinn > Djinn Sultana: female version of Sultan, lower stats, but with some free buff spells
6. Rakshasa Rani > Rakshasa Brahmin: ranged attack w/o melee penalty instead of dash?
7. Colossus > Immortal: Shooter, no call lightning, absurd number of HP
Demons:
1. Imp > Changeling: can take the form of other level one creatures, mana reverb (stolen mana is dealt back to an enemy unit as damage?)
2. Horned Demon > Horned Tormentor: more attack, less defense, damage over time
3. Hell Hound > Barghest: no three heads, but black and only semi-corporeal
4. Succubus > Succubus Harlot: fireball damage instead of chain shot
5. Hell Charger > Dark Horseman: mounted by a demon warrior armed with a fiery sword, flame damage instead of fear
6. Pit Fiend > Pit Master: can summon fire elementals instead of vorpal sword
7. Devil > Demiurge: can raise demons from the dead

You know they say that all the alternative upgrades will have diffrent beliefs then their regular upgrades. Well here are my ideas for the other other towns belifs
Haven:
Even more holy( if that is possible) they are the chosen ones of Elrath and have regular crusades against the renegades
Inferno:
Less firy and more blackish (not exactly much to change here)
Necropolis:
Less evil and more neutral don't fight much unless it may mean that they may be able to change the cycle of life if they fight
Academy:
obssesed with the destruction of the necromancers and will do anything to stop them
can't think of anything for the Fortress, Dungeon, and Stronghold yet

As for the Rainbow Dragon, someone on Ubi forums suggested changing it to Prismatic dragon.
I hope they do that or change it to Prism Dragon (like the prism tanks in Red Alert 2) I think that would keep the same meaning but make it a more intimidating name. I mean as it is Sylvan has freakin' unicorns which are normally associated with little girls. Just Sayin'
Alternate Fortress Upgrades.
1. Defender > Offender: a dwarf that unleashes multiple racial slurs per combat and causes other creatures to become enraged. Recruited from Westborough Baptist Church. Very low growth
2. Spearwielder > Beerwielder: A drunken dwarf that is trained in the ways of the mead. Special Ability is during a seige this creature can load a keg into the catapult, thus disorienting all creatures hit by it (including for once the undead)
3. Bear Rider > Polar Bear: as soon as the dwarf tried to ride on a polar bear it was eaten. Does +100 damage for every seal it has eaten on the way to attacking the enemy.
4. Brawler > Anger Brawler: Nival wanted to make a name for an enraged viking/dwarf brawler but since Berserker was already taken they unfortunately went the Treant route once again.
5. Rune Priest > Rune Agnostic: Debates whether or not he believes runes exist, thus causing enemies to become confused.
6. Thane > Titanic Dwarf: Is the only Xtra large creature in the game *Taking 8 hexes*(I owe this the inspiration for this idea: http://www.celestialheavens.com/features/comics/beingcranky4.jpg)
7. Fire Dragon > Petroleum Dragon: can also be lit on fire but far more expensive than fire dragon.
