Wow, awesome intro...
Why?
1. Extremly cool Eldar (Which the first game lacked imo)
2. Bigger Space Marines (They now look like they should)
3. Mystery (Probably one of those Hive-Fleets that the Tyranids build.)
The part with the Warp-Spider was my favourite, the Eldar seems so bad-ass in this movie
I've always wanted to play with them but I've always become so irritated of how silly they speak and look. (Also, I always get kicked when playing with Eldar online, people hate them!)

People over at Relic Forums are almost rabid about the inclusion of the Tyranids but I don't really care if they make it because they are just a lame plot device really. Aside from gene-stelaers, I don't really see how you could have a meaningful campaign from the Tyranid perspective. It'd be too similar to the Necrons.
There's life.
Go kill it.
Move on.
If they do make it (and it certainly is looking that way), I don't think they will be a playable race in the campaign. I could see them being like the Necrons in Winter Assault by only showing up towards the end. As to multiplayer and skirmishes, I could see them being playable.
Oh yeah, the Emperor Protects isn't dead. It's just that I haven't had a whole lot of time to really put into updating it to the extent I believe would do it justice.

Yeah, that's probably it
In an interview the Relic guys said "You can save the galaxy any way you want!"
I immediatly thought: "What about destroying it?!"
EDIT: The Necrons were much cooler in Winter Assault, they were even slower but much stronger, which makes them even more intimidating

I was so disappointed with the nerfing they received in Soulstorm. My favorite race reduced to the worst in the game.

They shouldn't. Flayed Ones and Wraiths are fairly worthless now, warriors have poor scaling, you only get one elite infantry unit, your vehicles can be tangled up in melee, scarab swarms are sucktastic now, Lord Destroyers still aren't that useful, and the economy has been hit hard. Really hard.
While the Deceiver is cool, I still don't think he's that useful with only be able to deceive once. The illusionary monolith's knockback is pretty spiffy though.

Well, most Necron players I've played against just keeps on the defensive, building towers and stuff until they get the monolith out...
But the worst pain of all is the ever-respawning Necron lord! You just have to babysit the bastard cause he'll respawn in your camp all the time... So I can't really build up a nice offensive cause he's always in my way.
Maybe I just need a new tactic, I don't know

True, but I'm a Tau player: Meaning no mines and no turrets.
I can Snare Trap him with my Commander, but I'll have to keep some sort of force to kill him with at my base.

Then send some Barracudas over and take out his libraries or whatever they are called. Knock those out, take away the Necron Lord's trump cards. You can't really play a defensive match as the Tau.

The thing is that I have to be defensive until I get the Barracudas out...
Which will take time considering that I only get 4 vehicle cap with the Path of Enlightenment, meaning one Barracuda.
To get Barracudas working, I need a Mont'ka or Kauyon Commandpost, which takes resources and time.
By the time I get Barracudas out, he'll have a pretty good force to counter it with, and the Fully upgraded Monolith is probably on its way, along with the Deceiver which really is a terrible abomination. I've seen people getting tricked by its Monolith very, very many times. (Including myself)

Then get some stealth teams out to help stun the monolith. With limited detectors, you can let them just blast away at the necrons. You need to be relentless. Keep sending units to mess with his economy. Yeah the free necron warriors suck, but he probably won't reinforce them and kroot should be able to take them down. Also don't forget about your Pathfinders. Never, ever underestimate their versatility. Also if you get the Pirannahs, use that to help block necron advance. Let the Necrons waste time trying to figure out why they can't advance.

Wait a second... Is the Monolith really considered a vehicle when fully upgraded? That would actually solve a lot of problems...
Oh, and there's no such thing as Pirannahs, I think you mean barracudas unless your mixing it up with FoK
If the Monolith really is a vehicle, you've made online playing much easier for me

Actually, I think it may still count as a building. Yeah, it does because the Bonesinger can tie it up. My apologies.
I mean the Pirranhas. They are invisible. Just leave them as blocks.
EDIT: HD Trailer. Should be a fun download on a dial-up...
Oh yeah, you guys might enjoy the link to it.

Damn, Damn Monolith! Well, I can theorize and discuss all I want, the best way to learn is still to play, I'll play against the Necrons until I find a way to beat them

Oh yeah. Sorry about that. I wonder where I got the Pirranha thing from.
If the Monolith is giving you such a headache, try harder to uncap the relic points. I doubt a Necron player is going to have a lot of luck defending both his base and a point at the same time. If you want to be really sneaky, try sending in a team to attack a relic point, then send in a couple more to attack his base. Hopefully, your opponent will fall for the ploy and teleport his troops back, giving you a chance to send in another team to capture the point.
And don't underestimate the power of crisis suit flamers or drone harbringers.

I have both DOW and the first to expansions, but I only played it a few times. I can't stand RTS games for some reason, I have never found the strategy in them, but that is probally because of my lack of intelligence... The darn buildings just never seem to build fast enough to keep my attention!

Omega, now I've tried the mod.
The whole game is different and it takes a while to get used to it, but its great once u do.
The only thing I think is a little imbalanced is that the space marines can have 4(!!!) landraiders, and theres 3 different
But great mod

The cap system is a bit different but really, I doubt you'll have enough time to get four landraiders out. The enemy starts hitting really hard as the game goes on. Just wait until you are attacked by 3 Monoliths. That's just ducky.
