I dunno! But as the comment explains; It's probally just a represantation of Ash's dad, made in Ash's head.
Not that I really support the 'Giovanni = Ash's dad' thing. Giovanni has only one son, Silver!

I am a little surprised it didn’t try to address Ho-oh or Suicune except to bundle them up with the other legendaries however—he’s seen them both at least 3-4 times each, and while Ash does have the luck to see legendary Pokemon regularly, I’d have given those two more significance when psychoanalyzing him.

I’m going to concur; Giovanni having any kids is creepy enough. 
Waiting on Alkar for the next update BTW. If I don’t hear anything by, say, midnight tonight I’ll post without Stacey’s input.
EDIT:
Caught error in the last round; Thundershock should have been re-directed by Rhyhorn's Lightningrod ability. No difference to the grand scheme of things (Tackle hit, and is guaranteed to do at least one damage, so Scyther's still unconscious) but if I do that again, yell at me.

Grunt 3 (the one with no Pokemon ). And Mina's wrong about the teleporting-one-person-at-a-time bit, but that'll be detailed later.
The setup so far is thus:
Our group and Christian, plus Grunt 3, are outside the Pokemon Center. With them are:
Gastly, Magby, and Rhyhorn
Natu
Pylus and Ironsides (Sting is recalled)
(All of Christian's Pokemon, who are recalled or unconscious)
Inside the Center are Grunts 5 and 6, plus:
Wispafern D
Growlithe and Hedge
Snorlax and Rattata
Oodramer and Sandshrew
Halfway between the Center and House #3 on the map are Grunts 1 and 2, Pellana, and Adrina, plus the Pokemon:
Machop 1
Wispaferyn 2 and Machop 2
Zucruu
Pidgey and Pikachu
Shambak
Jigglypuff
Halfway between the Center and House #1 is Grunt 4, plus the Pokemon:
Wobbuffet
Stripes and Evan
And coming out of the tower are parties unknown.

Since we seem to be drawing to the close of this fight, and we’re getting closer to the point where the Poffin mechanics are going to be relevant (at least for Mytical ), there are a few things I’d like your input on. First, here’s the refresher on Poffin:

All boosts are +1 to the stat for every 15 points of Condition. Conditions cap at 255, so the maximum stat gain in a category is 15 points.

Spicy/Red/Cool - Attack

Bitter/Green/Smart - Sp.Def
Sweet/Pink/Cute - Speed
HP is boosted by increasing any of the other conditions. Also, you have a "Feel" cap of 255.
That’s how winter had it set up. BUT, this raises two issues. The first being, 255/15 = 17, not 15. So my first question is, do all of you want to have it so the first 225 points boost stats and the remaining thirty points of Condition are ‘empty’, thus leaving the max at 15, or have the stat gain go all the way up to 255 with a max of 17?
The second is, should I give HP the same cap as the other stats? It’s more than possible to get points in more than one stat. Say for example I manage to max out Beauty and Smart. The way it’s set up right now that would give the Pokemon +15 to Special Attack, +15 to Special Defense, and +30 to HP. Should that be possible?
Note that I have no problem with it going either way; the two-point difference between 15 and 17 isn’t really all that big, and I am ambivalent about the HP. So I’m asking all of you, what do you think?

Not much.
—You missed a round of combat. All the goons are stopped except one in the Center (scroll up for who’s where). They have their Pokemon out. Also, someone or something is coming out of the tower.
—You missed Helnith’s second birthday.
—I’m currently taking input on how to tweak the Poffin mechanic (again, scroll up ). Got input from Alkar and Mytical so far.
