Ooo, the story has been progressing nicely.
College has been eating away at my life*, so perhaps Kareeah taking over was the best thing that could've happened to this RPG.
* - I can also blame Clash of Heroes. It's pretty darned addictive. It's also quite obvious it's NOT a Nival game.
Also everyone knows the real reason Fate and Dove aren't adventuring anymore...

I read on the very first page that you'd limited options on what starter pokemon you wanted. Does this rule still apply?
Secondly, how easy is it to get new pokemons in this rpg? Can one travel to all areas for non legendary pokemons and catch whatever one intents before going to battle, or are you forced to battle through gym leaders with a limited range of available pokemons, before you can get those that really interests you currently?
Third, is the battle system of the generation IV, or is it possible to choose what type of battle system to use? I am only familiar with the generation II battle system.

If you want to join up, make a list of about ten or so Pokemon you want. I'll let you know if any of them are unsuitable and you can pick your starter from there.
Catching new Pokemon is difficult but not impossible; Pokemon in Helnith are rather scarce due to the region dying while one of the local Legendaries was held captive by her counterpart. The biggest difficulties in catching them are distance and the fact that most of the region has been taken over by the local villainous team, Team Bandra. The Gym Leaders are something of a non-issue; the League hasn’t been held in several years since the League Champion is the leader of said team, though you can still challenge them if you want.
The battle system is Gen IV…mostly. We’ve adapted and changed a few things to fit bigger combat (more than 2 vs. 2), and of course as this is PbP it isn’t as limited as the handheld games.

It certainly sounds interesting.
Some more questions though. Since the pokemons are scarce, does that also mean the ability to learn pokemons certain moves also are limited? How available are tm's (and hm's), can they be bought from shops or is there only a limited amount of them in this world?
E.g. I really like using a smeargle, though to learn him the set I'd want to, I'd need to find the right opponent and sketch the right moves, I don't mind that being difficult, but is it even realistic in this world?
Now you mentioned the league, I just wondered, all the people who participates, I suppose they go around in the same world, does that mean we can actually meat eachother, and let's assume if we particpate in the league at the same time (had it existed) then we'd be able to meet eachother, like Ash and Gary in the Silver League?
I have never played by generation IV rules and therefore I have no idea about the changes from generation II, but I guess I could try to use my old generation II team and see how well it does.
My team, non-evolved, is:
Staryu
Eevee
Mr. Mime
Eevee
Smeargle
Eevee
Btw. how available are stones and is it possible for me to play around at the correct time, so I won't end up getting the wrong eevee evolution?
So all in all, are any of these a possible starter by the current rules:
Staryu, eevee, mr. mime or smeargle?

Stones are not so easy to get normally (though KI might think differently) however..you know you can evolve Eevee four ways without a single stone? Not sure that four rare eevee's will be allowed (think I had to get an egg to just get one), but..
The Ice, Grass, Dark, and Psychic evolutions don't require a single stone.

What grass and ice eevee, what's next dragon and steel eevee?
Or maybe poison and fighting.
Oh well, anyway, I am interested in getting a jolteon for agility baton pass, a vaporeon for acid armor and substitute(can't remember, gotta look it up) baton pass and a umbreon for something to resist the damage, which also can heal, while building up double team, to pass to a spore+100%aim+ohko smeargle.

Lol I wouldn't put it past them. However, actually we only need an eevee that is opposit gender to my Umbreon (dark evolved eevee) . We could breed the rest.
Edit : Since I think evan (the Umbreon's name) is male..that means a female..I think.

Cool, I didn't know we could meet in the rpg, that would be a great idea!
How easy is it to breed pokemons in this rpg and is there the typical stat rules or are stats fixed in this game?

Meet? Of course we can meet, that goes without saying for most of the RPs on this site. Usually everyone here travels around in one group, except for me, seing as I am with the bad guys.

TMs (they’re called SMs in this game but they’re functionally identical) show up sporadically. They aren’t raining from the sky but they’re not unheard of.
Misty had the first Eevee in Helnith in thirty years, so starting out with it would be a no. If you want one (and really, who doesn’t? ) you’re going to have to get one from her if/when she breeds Evan—which I was under the impression was a goal of hers anyway. Mr. Mime and Staryu are fine however. I’m also going to need basic information about your character (Name, gender, age, description (eye color/height and so on), region of origin).
Breeding requires a Daycare Center or similar, however we’ve already run into one and as the DM I can assure you there will be at least one more.
Stats are run as if the Pokemon had a neutral Nature and max IVs in all stats. Beyond that, you get one EV for every level after the fifth to put in a stat of your choice. There are a few other methods of improving your Pokemon but that’s the big one.

Funny thing, I've been thinking alot about that statement.
Okay so now tell me; Misty has the first eevee seen in helnith for the last thirty years, but seing as all of us also are from OTHER REGIONS...ain't it possible for us to have caught one before we arrived in Helnith?
Take that!

As we're all newbie nobody trainers, and Eevee is rather rare, no.
Remember, there's only been one set of games so far where you've actually been able to catch them and even THEN it's random in a specific location vey late in the game. Everywhere else you are GIFTED a single one a fair amount into the game, you can't catch them in the wild.

hmmmm....touché(dunno what it means but...)....
But how come I got to start with a Tyrogue then? That's another rather rare find, no?
Edit: And I'll tell you why to. IC my character got it as a gift which in itself means that the first pokémon I actually caught was a Slakoth. So, why not go with something simular? Got it as a gift or something

Quote: Mr. Mime and Staryu are fine however.
That's super, I really wanted to start with a Staryu anyway.
You forgot to reply how easy/hard it is to get stones, so I also can upgrade staryu (and future eevees hopefully).
Also, I'm rather new at this, so I'll probably be very nooby, but hey I am the noob after all.
So if I do something incorret, sorry ahead.
Quote: you’re going to have to get one from her if/when she breeds Evan
That sounds fine, with me. I don't know what eevee breeds with though, but couldn't one not just breed it with a ditto and thereby make it available for all who wants one?
All that EV, Nature stuff, is after gen II I think, so I don't know much if anything about it. What about the deter values, are they still used?
Quote: I’m also going to need basic information about your character (Name, gender, age, description (eye color/height and so on), region of origin).
Name: Zack (short for Zachary)
Gender: Male
Age: (I'd prefer to be around the age of the other contestants, if that varies a lot, then somewhere between 14-20 would be fine by me).
Description: When in battle, very determined to win, even at the risk of putting ones pokemon to danger. Very influated with power and not afraid to help team evil if I see that I get something out of it. Though most often trying to help restore the region and generally respect pokemons and their rights as a living being just as much as a human has that right. General goal is to prove oneself as the greatest pokemon trainer of the region, no matter who it requires to take down. Also a goal is to find some friends and with their help restore the pokemon league.
Eye Colour brown eyes.
height Depending on age, if 14 is choosen, around 1.80m, if 20 is choosen, around 1.84.
colour of skin dark
Comes from the region of: Johto (wanted to be a part of Silver League, but due to unknown circumstances, moved away before starting his pokemon adventure).
So what do I do now?

Stones: Again, not easy but not impossible. I’d say easier to get then TMs SMs. I was planning a few in the quasi-near future, and if worse comes to worse, there’s a nice collapsed mine in the north.
Eevee: That was the idea, yeah.
Determination values: Got overhauled between Gen II and Gen III. See Bulbapedia for details.
You: Now you wait while I set up your char in the CS thread and write your introductory post.

As K-9 said it. Affirmative.
Quote: and if worse comes to worse, there’s a nice collapsed mine in the north.
I suppose that could be one of the goals of my trainer, catching some kind of rock type that's good to dig, like an onix, and go to the mine and get stones for all of us, is that possible? Likewise, I suppose I'll first have to find out about the mine in the rpg, before I even can start to plan on going there.
Quote: Yeah, I can breed Evan thankfully..whever we get time. Got a Ditto and an Eevee..that is all that is required..and patience.
That sounds cool. If time is your problem, maybe one of my first goals could be to run it as an errand for you (taking your eevee and ditto the breeding center). Though I don't even know if I know about your character (Misty right?) and I suppose I'd have to ask around for people knowing anything about an eevee before I even can take this quest up?
