@Daystar: Cool!
That whole unit merging thing is a bit confusing, but it looks awesome.
@Sargeras: Ventmordant is a pretty neat name, but then it upgrades into a Sour One. In my opinion, you should change the name of the upgrade so it sounds...I don't know...better, I guess.
@Lexxan: So in other words, a creature with Blood Rage that doesn't need a hero to use it. Now why didn't Nival think of that?
Nice entry.
@Fauch: Creepy entry!
Keep it up guys!

Yep, the deadline is 'backed' . If you need an extention it will be up to Sith if it is warrented or not. I will post my impressions soon, but no actual scores. Sith will be doing the scoring. Since I can't see some tonight, will post impressions tommorrow when I can see all entries.

Thanks, but the idea is hardly a new one. To be honest, a qp for the overall winner would be better then a qp for the thread. Sticky would be nice tho

Yes, a QP for Daystar the overall winner is a good idea, but I think that you deserve one as well. Afterall, you successfully revived it. It seems to be much more active and popular than the original contest.

This weeks deadline is passed officially. Have to talk to sith about a extention. Since he hasn't scored yet, posting an entry and getting ahold of him might work
Edit : If not, there is next week. Deadline would be the 13th.

- Creativity How much imagination you put into your entry. This is the broadest category, so feel free to experiment with until your heart is content and then some!
- Fluency Essentially how well your creature and abilities match each other. The flow of its being, and how well your descriptions mesh.
- Combat How impressive or useful this creature would be in an actual combat situation. Its pwnage factor, and whether it could become a threat or a nuisance. Not gaged on power level, moreas a ratio between its abilities and its tier.
- Flavor The originality of it and how you've introduced it into the world. It depends on your presentation of it, and whether it gives a crisp taste to itself.
where did you read there was a bonus for pictures?

From what I have seen, Sith's list would pretty much be identical to mine. Some very close calls tho. You all did a magnificent job.
In case anybody is wondering, after each week has been judged I am going to include one of my creations for the week that has already been judged. Not actually in the contest, but thought it would be interesting.
Hybrid - Raptacect. A horrible cross between a reptile (specifically a raptor) and an insect (specifically a bumblebee).
Created by Enfram. Enfram was one of the crasiest of the mages experimenting with hybridnization. However, this creation was his last, for after he accidently crossed himself with a lemming and ended up jumping off a cliff.
Description - Looks like a small raptor (about 3' in length) with wings and a stinger. The usual coloration is replaced by black and yellow stripes.
Abilities - Stinger, Leap, Feast
Stinger - by sacrificing 10% of the number of Raptacects the entire stack does 20% more damage and poisons the enemy stack. The minimum sacrificed is 1.
Feast - When attacking any stack that has already taken casualties, the ability feast may be activated. A percentage of the hp of the casualties hitpoints are used to calculate the regeneration of the Raptacect. When they currently have regeneration cast on them from another source, the percentage is doubled.

ELEMENTAL SPIRE
Level 8
Attack: N/A
Defence: 27
Damage: N/A
Speed: Immobile (placed anywhere on the battlefield in Tactics Mode, can be teleported)
Initiative: 6
Health: 480
Cost: 6000 Gold, 3 Gems
Size: Large
Abilities: Elemental Shift (Spire assumes random control of one of the four elements), Chaotic Rupture (if the player chooses to defend instead of shift, the tower casts a random destructive spell at Basic level)
The Elemental Spire, a mindless, primal manifestation of an influx between mighty spirits representing the four elements, is among the most peculiar - and dangerous - of all the world's inanimate buildings. One would be quick to assume that this strange tower could do little or no harm to those keeping their distance, however...
AIR ELEMENTAL SPIRE
Abilities: Elemental Shift, Immune to Air, Call Lightning, Stormcloud, Valiant Winds (increases two random allies' speed by +2 for two turns), Striders of the Sky (grants Flight to a random ally)
...they rarely take into consideration the fact that, as a construct formed of magical and elemental energies, the Spire is capable of shifting itself to embody one of the four elements at will by opening unseen conduits into the Elemental Planes. When the Spire is enveloped by the Plane of Air, its power over the spectrum of time, speed and lightning is vastly increased, but...
EARTH ELEMENTAL SPIRE
Abilities: Elemental Shift, Immune to Earth, Aura of Magic Resistance, Regeneration, Engulf (up to two surrounding enemy stacks are randomly trapped beneath the earth for one turn, then regurgitated at a random position on the battlefield)
...should the Elemental Spire instead will itself to embody the element of Earth, it will obtain a multitude of powerful defensive abilities. Regeneration, immunity to Earth Magic, enhanced magical resistance and the power to swallow enemies into the depths of the choking soil for a single turn are easily enabled with the force of the Plane of Earth within the primal structure. However...
FIRE ELEMENTAL SPIRE
Abilities: Elemental Shift, Immune to Fire, Teleport Other, Frightful Aura, Infinite Wrath (nearby allied enemy stacks automatically receive the effects of the Expert Righteous Might spell), Caster: Fireball, Caster: Firewall
...when the Spire chooses the wild madness of the Plane of Fire as its internal source of strength, it undergoes a dire transformation. Fiery magics and dimensional transportation spells become available. Enemies are struck by terror at the very sight of the Fire Spire! And nearby allies rely on this terror to strike with redoubled force! But, finally...
WATER ELEMENTAL SPIRE
Abilities: Invisibility, Shield Allies, Death Stare, Deluge (floods the battlefield with water, dealing major damage to fire-elemental units and minor damage to others), Ice Torrent (five shards of ice fall from the sky - the random tiles upon which they fall are totally blocked for four turns), Caster: Ice Bolt, Caster: Phantom Forces
...the Water Elemental Spire is also very real - and equally fearsome. For not only can it turn invisible and defend allies while doing so. It can also summon tidal waves from the Plane of Water to soak friend and foe, even capable of producing enormous icicles from beyond to hinder enemies in their progress. Last, but not least, it can blast foes with arrows of ice, and create perfect illusionary copies of allied troops at whim.
Needless to say, with this many abilities and possibilities on offer, the Elemental Spire is a force to be reckoned with. A unit this imbalanced belongs in no game... only in the halls of Creature Contest 2.0 where it shall linger until this weary age is over, and a new one has begun.
