My Entry
Gremlin Dreadnought Grail Creature (no upgrades) - Academy
Prequisites: Cloud Coloseum, Workshop and Skyship (Tear of Asha)
Appearance: like the image below, but ornated with Gems and Metal inscriptions.
Purple Smoke comes out of the chimney and the man in the picture is replaced by a Master Gremlin. Addition, the Griffin motives on the Tank are replaced by Stars, Suns, Ankhs, Rakshasas, etc... The usual Academy motives.
Description: At the zenith of the Wizard's creation stand the literal Tank: the Dreadnought. Built out of Adamantine and Obsidian, this Machine is almost indistructable. It's manned by the crafty Gremlins, and it fires small bombs than can even dammage siege walls. Nothing can stop these Leviathans from moving, and if someone would dare to try, he would be crushed under it's wheels. The most terrible invention of all time !
Att: 60
Def: 68
Dam: 55-90
Hp: 350
Sp: 6
In: 9
Gr: one every month
Cs: 8000 gold, 20 Ore and one of each Rare rescource
Specials: Large - Mechanical - Shooter - Crushing Shot - Safe - Manoeuver - Squash unattended foes who stand in the way (aka Squash) - Magic Proof 50%
Explanations
Crushing Shot: Same as crushing blow, but only with Ranged attacks
Safe: Units allied to this creature can't be harmed whatsoever by it.
Squash: When this unit moves, it damages foes by riding over them. The damage = # Dreadnoughts X # of the Dreadnought tiles that squash the enemy.
Note: The opponest won't be squased in it is beneath the Dreadnought when it stops (unless it kills the whole stack). The Dreadnought will move around the stack in this case.
Animations: The Dreadnought trembles incessantly, making the machine look rather insteady. When it shoots it moves a small bit backwarts, because of the shock of the Shot.
When attacked in melee, the Dreadnough does just the same move backwards, but attacking in melee is funny: The Master Gremlin on top of the tank shoots (with the same kindo of rifle normal Gremlins have) to the attacker.
The cheering animation of the Dreadnought will be like this: the Gremlin on top will rejoice, swooping it's arms in the air and the Purple smoke out of the chimney will turn Blue and more thickish. This smoke will swoop in the Gremlin's face, making it cough.
When the Dreadnought is destroyed, the Purple Smoke will become red, after which the Dreadnought is set afire and explodes. The Gremlin is seen flying though the air, and will land somewhere outside the battle field. The Dreadnough it self starts to burn for the remainder of the battle, and slowly the fire will turn into to smoke. This process will take about five minutes.
Whe the Dreadnought moves it will leave tracks in the battlefiend, which only last a few seconds.
I hope you like it
EDIT: Seeing the comments of some other members, I changed the picture; I always wanted it look kinda like the current picture.

Second place!
Here comes week two!
Week 2 Entry:
Iron Maiden
Level 6 Academy Alternate Creature
Visual Description: The Iron Maidens wield a scimitar in their left hand and ninja stars (for their ranged attack) in their right hand. As one could assume from their name, they are completely metallic and mechanical. Their body is female in shape.
"Skin" color: They are painted in a light purple hue, and their eyes are red rubies.
Armor: They are outfitted with a magical spiked armor. It's effects will be explained later on (Spiked Armor ability).
Biography Description: The Iron Maidens were an experiment carried out during (relatively) ancient times by Cyrus. He attempted to create the perfect fighting unit: A unit that was completely subservient to him and worthy of his ever increasing air of egotistical arrogance. For long years he toiled in this endeavor.
After nearly one hundred failed experiments (among the failed experiments were those that created Gremlins and Goblins), he discovered a mysterious alloy, similar to the one used in modern times to create the Magnetic Golems. The alloy, named Espurium, was about 25 times stronger than steel and still as Magic Proof as Wizard's Iron (what Iron Golems are made out of ). With this, the Iron Maidens were born.
Unfortunately for Cyrus and the few Wizards that helped him in his mad quest, the Iron Maidens gained sentience and refused to be controlled by their creators. Out of pure rage, Cyrus destroyed most of the Iron Maidens. However, "extinction" (if you could call the complete destruction of a non-organic species extinction) was not to be. The remaining Iron Maidens escaped the Silver Cities and offered their services to the highest bidder, becoming mercenaries. Irony always finds a way to prevail, as sometimes the Maidens end up fighting their former masters and creators.
Unit Stats:
HP: 90
Attack: 20
Defense: 23
Speed: 7
Initiative: 10
Shots: 4
Damage: 20-23
Abilities: Mechanical, Shooter, Range Penalty, No Melee Penalty, Rain of Spikes, Spiked Armor, Sentience, Magic Proof 50%
Rain of Spikes - Once per battle, the Iron Maidens may shoot out spikes from their magical spiked armor into an opposing unit of their choice. The victim takes 15*(number of Iron Maidens in stack) damage and moves back 15%-45% (randomly chosen, in multiples of five) on the ATB bar.
Spiked Armor - Enemy melee units suffer 20% of the damage they inflict on this unit. In addition, the spikes may cause the victim to Bleed, causing it to lose an additional 5*(number of Iron Maidens in stack) Hit Points during their next action.
Sentience - In spite of the fact that these units are mechanical, they can think for themselves, and are thus affected by Morale, both negative and positive.
EDIT: Editing some poorly worded things.

I agree in 100%, winterfate.
I like all the entries of this round.
The only one that bothers me is Lexxan's. I just think that one super-strong tank isn't suitable to Heroes. But I think that it's just the shape of the tank that makes it feel so advanced. A different shape (maybe sort of Mechanical Dragon, like the Golem Dragon of H4?) can make it so much better, in my opinion.
Edit: Much better that way!

Quote: why is there a griffin on an academy tank?
Read the comment: It's not the exact tank I had in mind, only it's shape. And off course the Griffins will be replaced by Stars, Lions and Elephants, the real academy motives.
EDIT: And the guy on top of the tank will be replaced by a Gremlin.

Good idea Fauch..., but why divine shield on the octo ?!?
My Entry
Alchemor -- Academy Lvl 7 alternative
Description: Trying to magicaly create angels alike, clever wizards have found a way to bond magic and technology. Alchemor is mechanical/magical construct, powerfull being capable to hand out quite a beating. In addition he's built to be a trap. When Alchemor is destroyed, magical cloud is dissipated from he's shell, stunning nerby foes.
...would look similar but with brass armour alike, no shield, bigger sword like angels but not plain yet mechanical and black wings.
Stats:
37 Att
25 Def
50-60 Damage
14 Init
9 Speed
190 Health
Abilities/Powers : Large creature, flyer, immune to mind control,
Anticipation - one time retaliation
Stall Reek - when destroyed, release a cloud that stunns nearby foes
SmotherGuise -- upgrade
Description: More powerfull version of the prior one SmotherGuise is concealed in gray smoke and is immune to ranged attacks. When attacking he emerges from the smoke striking with his magical blade and that blade is often the last thing the foe will see...
...almost perfect image...but it'll be more like silver/whitish armour and like energy sword (or glowing)...
Stats:
39 att
23 Def
55-65 Damage
15 Init
0 Speed (teleports around the battlefield)
175 Health
Abilities/Powers : Large creature, immune to mind control,
Teleport - teleports around the battlefield

@Sargeras: I was wondering about the Divine Shield as well...
Interesting entries. Can't wait to see them in action.
@Fauch: Are you talking about the level 5 Shielding spell (Arcane Armor), or Divine Shield aka. Invulnerability from Warcraft 3?
Also, I'd call the 3x3 size ability Giant Creature or Huge Creature. But that's just my opinion. Pretty original entry.
All in all, I like all of your entries. Some more than others (I won't tell who I prefer! ), but I like them all.

Wow, some awesome entries this time. While I think all of them are amazing I have my three favorites so far.
The Alchemor.
The Elemental Spire.
And...
Iron Maiden
Now, like I said the other entries are amazing..and even getting the three top so far was hard. Remember, you have time to tweak your entries.

Really? I think that the SabberStrutter is one of the best ones, maybe the best. It is, in my opinion, the most creative entry, the one with the best abilities ideas, and it's very original. Some entries feel like the person found a pretty picture and then built the concept, which is not a very original thing to do.

Quote: Good thing is that everybody has its own thoughts, and your not a judge.
Please talk nicely. There's no need to be agressive.
Quote: Finding a picture and building an entire creature around it is original enough for me, the story around the creature doesn't come with the art you know...
If I were a judge, I wouldn't take off points for that, because it wouldn't be fair. But I'm just saying that I wouldn't do that, because I know that the picture is someone else's idea.
