I have played competitively the game for years and I can tell you that the factions are balanced. By midgame you should have no problem against sylvan unless you don't know how to handle them effectively. Inferno requires a lot more skill than sylvan does both in creeping and in hero battles.

Playing with Inferno is such a problem the auto-combat. Itīs quite boring repeating every combat (even against zombies) because the IA tends to leave the imps in the middle of nowhere, undefended.
But solving that, Inferno is as powerful as another gameīs faction. I agree with you Elvin, however, in patch 3.1 I think that Sylvans, and specially Orcs, are a bit better than the others.

Not entirely sure about orcs but sylvan is definitely a lategame problem.. High druids and pristine unicorns and tricks like rain of frenzy or ultra boosted phoenix are just unbalancing I wish high druid bonus would gradually reduce itself each round or at least adjust according to druid losses.

Yep, agree with that. High Druidīs ability is quite imbalanced, but it comes completely imbalanced when combined with Divine Vengeance.
Lategame playing against Orcs(when your opponent has a good amount of creatures), is so difficult to hit them properly to make them lose creatures & rage.

I have noticed that. My reasoning is that most factions have something against that.
Haven has extreme champion stacks.
Sylvan has avenger/luck/sweet dragon breath/many potential schools. (Though recent tests show me that sylvan needs some luck to win)
Dwarves have insane runes but may also pick dark. Frenzy is one of their favoured spells in arcane library and slow or confusion is not hard to get.
Academy depends but they have some tricks.
Unsure about inferno, never tried late. But I have seen orcs utterly destroyed by a demonlord that had absolute gating..
I would be more concerned about necro and dungeon for such late matches. And DV is imbalanced by default hence why it's always banned In my duel map I let it for some time to see if it had been nerfed sufficiently but after seeing more than half the champions die after the first charge.. I think DV is broken not just because of its damage but also because of some factions' nature:
Dwarves can keep abusing resurrection rune and you have no chance but to keep attacking them so DV will keep getting better and they'll be able to stall just fine.
Sylvan not anly has high druids but also rain of arrows, no comment.
And academy has motw.
As for factions like dungeon that can hit 30+ spellpower this is seriously wrong..

Yeah, in theory, most of that tactics should work, but I think you forgot the goblins. Lategame you wonīt be able to throw any spell. Dungeon and Academy are practically unable to defeat Stronghold in lategames

Oh please. Maybe in week 7 armies and there is still a good margin for failure. In all my orc games and replays of others I have seen a spell blocked exactly 2 times.

IIRC it is 5% decrease/increase per Hero Level + Spell Level against Goblins divided by their weekly growth... so it's actually a pretty low chance even in late game (when the hero has level 20+)

Hi,
I have read somewhere that there might be an error in the 3.0 skill wheel, specifically towards the Teleport Assult perk ( there might be others too ). Is this true or have I been misinformed ?
Edit If so, where can I get the up-to-date skill wheel at ?.
Thanks in advice.

Well I'm pretty sure I have the correct Skill Wheel, so I'll upload it somewhere.
You know what's extremely funny and weird? That, when I installed TotE on the new comp (I bought a new Hard Disk these days), from the same disk I used before, I got the wrong skill wheel. Fortunately, I copied the correct one from the old Hard Disk.

Hi,
Thanks Asheera, but I think I have seen somewhere that the Demon Lord's way to Teleport Assault is wrong on the skill wheel you gave a link too ?
The one I have say's :
Exp. Logistics
Consume Corpse
Pathfinding
and
Swift Gating
Am I missing something or do I have it right ?

Yes, it's correct.
The error is for the Warlock: Some Skill Wheels say it requires Scouting, some say it requires Pathfinding.
The latter one is correct, and the one I uploaded above says that Teleport Assault for Warlocks requires Pathfinding, as it is correctly.

The most strange thing about this patch is if you make a random map and the underground terrain generated is dwarven terrain, then the whole underground is dwarven terrain. Why can't some become dwarven terrain and some normal underground terrain??

Not sure why, maybe it is the limitations of the map editor.
In fact, there is also a lava-type underground, so that means 3 underground terrains to choose from.
Despite the darkness of dungeon sub, I still prefer it, because different sub-areas would give different hues (like red, yellow or green), which look quite ok. Sadly, when using Map Editor to generate maps, more often it's dwarven sub for the underground (which I don't really like).

yes, if there is another patch, it would be nice to have a selection in the editor of which type of subterrain (dwarven, lava, standard, or random) to choose before generation.

Good day, honourable members of the Community.
I come humbly before you all and ask for your assistance. If I have never patched H5 Tribes of the East can I run patch 3.1 or is it nescesary for me to run through all of them up to 3.1?
Please excuse if this question have been put before, but in my newbyness I failed to detect it.
Thank you very much for your help and a great forum.
(PS: even though this is my first post I have been reading the forum for some time now.)

TotE is independent of the other heroes games so the other patches won't even work at all. Just patch with the 3.1 and you're updated to the latest version

Asheera, I am honoured by your interest in this matter and appreciates you help.
Thank you very much!

Guys, sorry to bother you with a n00b question:
Does the patch affect the earlier saved games? I mean, could I still load the earlier games or continue the progressing ones saved under 3.0?
Much appreciated.
