Rikku takes the dagger in hand, and the gold piece.
"Gil? Seems like it."
Finding nothing else, Rikku heads back out, and heads over to the shed, to check up on Victor's status.

Glenn starts exploring the island as the others do. He follows the footprints, and watches his surroundings as he passes them by.

Rikku enters the shed, and quickly glances around, more looking for Victor than anything else. A blur of red streaks across his/her vision, and Rikku looks back. The berries are seen, and a flashback of this body's alchemical studies come to mind.
"The red potion..."
Rikku walks over to the berries, cuts the vine, and places it in the pack. The contents of the pack are finally looked upon; a book, a potion, a few more reagents, and an empty potion bottle. The empty bottle was going to be of use, but it would have to wait until later.
Inspecting the room some more, Rikku notices Victor doing the same.
"Hey, I didn't find much of anything in the bottom layer of that tower, but I found something here. You find anything?"

Doom turned around and saw the man he knew as Tidus putting the red berries in his bag.
"Not much. Although we could probably take the fishing equipment and perhaps some other tools and sell to some fool at the market. Going around without as much as a coin will not do us any good. I also noticed those berries, but I could not recognize them. Do you believe them to be eatable?"

"I'm not sure how well they are by themselves, but I think they make the red potion those guys were talking about. Not that I want to join in on this contest, but the potion itself may be useful. Also, I did find a coin, so we do have one. Though, more would certainly help. Don't know how far this one would go."

The group explores the island; there isn’t much to see. Perhaps ten paces across, it’s more of a spot of high ground than anything else. Small footprints wander across and around it, and it’s ringed by a circle of mushrooms in bright colors—one each of orange, blue, red, yellow, purple, green, and indigo. The mushrooms are smeared by muddy, child-sized fingerprints, and some of them seem to be dusted with a strange blue powder…

Doom finds a withered bluish root in the bucket, and a dusty sack hidden in a corner under one table; inside are coins ((+33 gold)) and a folded bit of parchment. Rikku’s harvest of the berry plants yields four bunches of bright red berries.

Glenn decides to give the mushrooms a closer look. Perhaps there was something to them, that they were missing. The child-sized hand-prints were enough reason to investigate anyway.
Rikku helps gather items they figure they should gather, and they start on their way to the village, along the beach.

As they start walking, Victor notices that Tidus is heading towards the shore. He catches up and stops his companion.
"Where do you think you're going? The man clearly stated that the town hall is that way." Doom points in the direction of the swamp.
"But he also said that it would be simpler and safer to go along the coastline." Came the retort.
"Doom does not fear a mere swamp! Doom fears nothing! We shall go straight forward and let nothing sidetrack us from our current goal!"

- Nothing of worth. Just rocks and weird colored mushrooms. No sign of that child- Abaddon thought out loud. He came closer to the mushrooms.
- What do you think these are? From the look of it I wouldn't say that they're edible.

Rikku smiles and shrugs. She was more looking to not actually get lost in the swamp. Though, exploring it may be a little interesting, at the very least. Rikku turns, and starts walking into the swamp with Victor.

((Loot for Doom and Rikku: 1 Fishing net, 1 spear (1-8 damage), miscellaneous fishing equipment (hooks and such) worth 25 gold, 1 hammer (Cudgel skill, 2-7 damage). Also the Widowsweep Berries and gold mentioned earlier. If for some reason you want to take anything else, let me know.))
Doom and Rikku loot the shed and make their way slowly through the swamp.
Occasionally they see signs of other people—these range from boot prints to spilled blood, and in one particular area, scorch marks and a few lonely carcasses of some snake-like creature with bulging yellow eyes and dragonfly wings. The latter appear to have been gutted after they were slain, as their gizzards are uniformly sliced open in addition to the obvious injuries that contributed to their demise.
Some distance inland, they find further confirmation of other people; voices are coming from a clearing of sorts off to the duo’s left.

After he’s made his observation Abbadon notices movement near the edge of the pond.
Glenn’s examination yields three harvests of the sparkling blue powder. The blue and green mushrooms zap him with tiny energy bursts when he makes contact ((-1 HP from the blue, green does you no damage although you’ll still have felt it)), but one—the red mushroom—starts to glow very softly at his touch. The air gains a faint, eerie quality of unreality at this, though there is no other visible sign that anything has happened.

Kamahl's post was a not so exciting one. he was just about to get onto the small island to look around with them when he thought he heard some noise in the swamp. nothing perhaps. probably just a swamp creature.
But swamp creatures often have fangs, and are poisonous, and are vicious, and can kill you with a glance.
He calls out to the group
"I think something is coming!"
He quickly attempts to cross the swamp and get onto the island with the rest of them.

Rikku hurries past the creatures, and remained watchful, should there be more, living ones flying about.

Glenn inspected the mushrooms more, not paying too much attention to the others. The odd results of touching the red one worried him a little, but nothing had happened otherwise. He checked out each one again. He checked for muddy hand prints, and blue dust on each one. Was there a reason for the three bags of it? Do the mushrooms, bags, and hand prints have a connection? He wasn't totally sure about anything, but he wanted to check it out anyway.

Doom lifted one of the snake-like creatures with the end of his staff. What were they? Some degraded version of the negative zone denizens? Skrull offsprings? Whatever they were, they did not seem to be a serious threat, even when alive. Victor let the creature drop back on the ground and kept on walking.
When the duo heard voices not far from them, Dr. Doom stopped and motioned Tidus to do the same. Running into a big group of brigands would not be wise, but Doom saw an opportunity he just couldn't pass on. His first plan to collapse the floor under the feet of the group in the tower before they had a chance to attack and salvage their dead bodies, failed because of an old staircase. This was his second opportunity to get some information or money or equipment or all of the above. And Victor von Doom knew that a man who lets opportunities go pass him will never achieve greatness. He moved closer to his companion and whispered:
"Let us move closer and investigate the voices. In our situation, we could use all the information we can get."

Glenn’s second examination of the mushrooms turns up nothing new; muddy child-sized fingerprints over each mushroom and footprints crisscrossing over the island.
As Kamahl crosses the pond, he notices the source (Sources? There seem to be more than one…) of the noise are coming closer.

The pointy eared stickwielding fellow alerted us, "I think something is coming!". What, more annoying flying serpents?
We survived 1 attack, waiting to see if it was monsters before attempting to fire the bow would not be such a bad idea if it was friendly.

Glenn still wonders about these mushrooms. Perhaps there was an order to them? Maybe, if the tracks are followed, he could see if there was such. Also, was this powder used in any way, or was it just there? He didn't have a clue, but decided to follow the footprints of the child-like being. Hopefully they weren't ruined too much by the group's explorations.

Glenn tries to track the child’s path; this is made exceedingly more difficult by the overlapping prints from his prior explorations and those of the rest of the group. Near as he can tell, after interacting with the red mushroom the child wandered across the circle to where the indigo, orange, and yellow mushrooms grow. But which, exactly, he is going to have to guess at, because the traces that could have narrowed it down further have been eradicated by the group’s passage.
Doom and Rikku come just into sight of the voices; from their position they can see an assortment of individuals dressed much like themselves in little armor and secondhand equipment. The group is scattered on and around a small rise of land in the middle of a pond—and even from here it is obvious that two are green, and at least one of the others has pointy ears like the bodies they find themselves in. Another figure small enough to be a child is examining the ground around the edge of the island as though following something.
