Final Fantasy
Heey I've just ordered Final Fantasy XIII to my PS3, aand i just can't wait for it to come ;p
So do i have something to look forward to?
Do you even like the FF universe?

yes i love all final fantasyssssssssss. I am currently playing ffix at the moment and that damn card game keeps drawing me back into it!!!

I got FFXIII at midnight, let me save you 20 min - as SOON as you get the ability to level, kill everything you see on your path and put all CP for lightning into health. There is a boss which 2 hit kills you soon after that, but if you get health maxed its 3 hits (still a potion heavy fight).

I'm seeing a lot of reports of enormous and insufferable linearity in this game, plus it is funding a pop star I openly wish to murder, so while I like the series I'll probably pass on it.

I have only tried eerh FFX X or XI :S The one with Tidus, Yuna and some guy with a dodgeball thing, and a guy with a red jacket/coat.
But i never passed Seymour when he summoned this erh Anima i think it was called..

I'd like to try this game, but sadly for reasons I wont mention, I won't.
and Havi, there are way more than 13.
There are the crystal chronicles, which are atleast 5, and atleast 15 subgames. Not counting expansions.

For a second I was thinking that Corribus was a Final Fantasy player... whew narrow escape oO. Oh and with MM gone this is pretty much lawless territory.

I've played every final fantasy. Well, every one except the latest one and the multiplayer one.
And if MM isn't around, perhaps it's time to start recruiting some new mods. What's the use in having mods who aren't around?

I've played every Final Fantasy except online ones. And a lot of Zeldas.
FF13 is pretty linear, think FF Mystic Quest as a choose your own adventure movie and you... will be relieved it's not that bad. (Though Mystic Quest did at least have towns and you could actually earn money to buy things.)
Your characters no longer have defense, just HP. You no longer tell your characters what to do, just macromanage their combat. It's probably because they spent so much more time making the small section of the world look so beautiful that they did not want you to see that everything outside of specific parts where the story sends you does not exist.

I have started playing FFXIII not long ago and I must say that it is very good.

I had trouble with that one too, untl I realised Yuna got another aeon (Shiva (or was it ixion?)) which totally brutalised anima (after anima killed ifrit and valefor obviously)

I have to disagree with you, or at least say that every FF after sixth part wasn't real FF
But modern FFs still have this magical atmosphere, they are still excellent mix of science fiction and fantasy, that makes it very original and finally stories of modern FFs are still very good and memorable...
Well... I can agree that story of XII wasn't very good, but XIII's one is great!
