Naah, it’s really not unless you wish to make it so. It’s mostly about military but how you get that military is a little different. Worth a try if you’ve never played it. Not a lot others like it. It’s a light empire management system on top of RTS mechanics. The end result is pretty good but the UI is dated and can take a while to learn for a new player.
The campaigns are half-carryover style so your king and heroes transfer over along with all your researched technology but your troops, civilians, spies and low rank generals don’t.
There’s a HD version of Seven Kingdoms 2 as well btw. Basically the same game with another race besides humans and some UI improvements.
Ps. The best thing is when your spy becomes their King, maximum troll value xD

Went and bought Pokémon let’s go. Was skeptical with this purchase but it turned out to be really great. It’s awesome going back to kanto with the fully 3D graphics and old battle styles. Honestly this is a must buy for any switch owners imho

That good eh? I belive you. Although I just don't have any more space to squeeze another game so I'll have to pass on this one. I'll rather wait for Pokemon 2019. Wonder if they'll use the same engine as this one, I would rather they did an overhaul. Not the basic idea, just maybe a bit more mature story or at least difficulty? After seeing Detective Pikachu movie trailer I don't think they need to keep it as kiddy as currently still.
Btw I picked up Tales from Candlekeep: Tomb of Annihilation on Steam sale. It's a simple tbs game based on a board game with the same. Nothing spectacular, alas fun. Solid to play in short 15 minute bursts, as this is how much a single "mission" takes...

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I’m enjoying it. Catching all of them and seeing the different walking animations is fun and the music is phenomenal.
The difficulty is certainly a negative but it’s easily manageable. The game is already a little easier when compared to blue and red but I wouldn’t say it’s any easier than modern Pokémon games. Personally they all got easier around the time of diamond version and so on, so I’d say the difficulty is around that level. However I play with my own specific rules. I tossed my starter to the box right out of the gates. Never had any intention to keep it since you can evolve the thing. But they give your starter some crazy stats and overpowered moves, so just don’t use it. And he game won’t be nearly as easy as some reviews say it is.

I'm not too keen on "artificially" making the game more difficult. The solution would be easy: give a "hard" difficulty mode (c'mon Game Freak, you know well a lot of Pokemon players are adult gamers). Raise levels (or EV's at least), give your opponents 6 Pokemon (no wonder it's easy, when it's 6 of your Pokes vs 2 of AI trainers) and give them more varied movesets. Change the game mechanics so it won't allow the abundance of 1-hit KO's.
Well I know there are modes that have a higher difficulty like battle Towers etc, but I was always and will be a "main story" guy. Well I think at least Gyms should be difficult. Miltank level hard

I agree. I always wanted a ‘hard mode’ in Pokémon games. But I have lost a few matches so far and even died during some team rocket missions out of the relentless koffings they throw at you. Just beat the fourth gym, still really enjoying it.

Gave up on Pathfinder: Kingmaker for the time-being. Even with the constant patching, the game is still a hot mess and bogged down by its main gimmick.
I have picked up Divinity Original Sin EE. I have owned it for awhile yet never played it. So far, I am greatly enjoying the tactical nature of the battles and the writing. I can see why it won so many awards.
Also, as to Teslagrad, I quit that game at that stupid bird monster. While an interesting premise, when you have 1 hit point, puzzle bosses who span stage-wide attacks are incredibly annoying.

Had a great run with Persia in Civ5 with the Vox Populi mod. I actually lost to Deity and it still felt incredibly satisfying. Never thought AI could feel challenging like that anymore.
Then I started to play StarCraft BroodWar and almost finished the original campaigns, last mission from zerg and then protoss. Writing and overall feel was great, but to be completely honest I prefer StarCraft 2's gameplay more.
I'm still thinking about what to play for December, lots of options. At the top of the list is Path of Exile with their new league droppingon on the 4th. Then there's WoW or DotA which I'd like to make a comeback to. Artifact's coming out soon and I wonder how it would compare to The Elder Scrolls: Legends and Hearthstone. Then there's Skyrim and Divinity 2 for RPGs, Cities Skylines and Stellaris for simulation, Civ 6 which I'd really like to try, etc.

I've recently picked up Starcraft Remaster on Black Friday deal so I can tell that a man really becomes accustomed to modern day conveniences. I mean the game is cool, but lacks some of those modern day improvements. You're like "they didn't have SHIFT command chains then?" etc. Still, it's great, nostalgia factor is strong especially because you notice some things you didn't see when the game had lower resolution, for ex. I didn't know that there's a Marine sitting in the Missile Turret
Aside from that continuing with RDR2 (GOTY material!). New expansion for Hearthstone incoming, there's still Valkyria Chronciles 4 and W:TW II Vampire Coast DLC waiting for me, and I ordered Smash, which I will probably play no earlier then Christmas.

Remaster is pretty good. Being able to rehotkey stuff is a great improvement(and the only one) by itself. It's nice that all the old mods work as well, this includes the co-op campaign mod. Some of the campaigns really haven't aged well, like the no-base missions are simply boring by modern standards, they're so easy you can a-move to the end and the cutscenes in game aren't interesting, they're mostly just a bother. But on the other hand the normal missions are really great, they're some of the best RTS missions ever when it comes to actually teaching you how to play the game. There's usually a fast enemy attack to just keep you from ecoing straight and almost always there's a relatively easy to take expansion nearby that rewards you for aggressive play. They also managed to make it so that the AI actually uses all it's capabilities, there are drops, nukes, siege pushes without making it absolutely impossible for new players. Sure you can still turtle for most maps until you're maxed but it's more efficient to play the missions while being active on the map(unlike Star2, for example.) The biggest problem is that the difficulty level is a bit of a rollercoaster with some of the later mission being just too easy but they're still great to play.
Remaster is a lot more satisfying to play than Star2 as well. Simply sitting in your base and macroing feels good when you hit all your production cycles. To me Star2 never achieved that and that's mainly why I don't like it too much(it's also even more hardcounterish.) LotV improved on the turtle gameplay from WoL but it's still the same old sit at home and amass snow. At least in remaster doing that gives you a sense of accomplishment. Though I won't arque against micro either, I must have beaten every zerg map I could by just microing mutas
I like exponential economy/map control RTS games over techswitch/gimmicky ones. This is where Age of Empires Definitive Edition hit the sweet spot. It's got that gameplay where you need to balance your economy and you need to control your army but it's not on the level where you hit/miss one Psi-storm/widow mine and the game just ends or where you can just a-move everything either. Too bad they didn't invest anything into the game, it's currently the best RTS out there but they practically killed the multiplayer before it started.

The unpatched 1.0 game is more fun though. That lonewolf glass-cannon
PS. No complaining about missing queued commands, back in the day we didn't even have production queues(Age of Empires 1997!) and we had to single select(Dune2 1992) all the units!

Finished RDR2. A masterpiece. I played both, and while God of War was a good game, it's nowhere near RDR2 which should've been game of the year. Well, father-son shenenigans captivated the jury more it seems.
Finally started Valkyria Chronicles 4. Another great game. It truly builds around it's predecessors: adding just the right amount of novelty, while keeping the core intact. Ofc, the series won't ever have such a wide aclaim like the two games I mentioned above, but still it's a very satysfying and well written TBS/Action game hybrid. Well written in the sense of dialogues and characters which are really likeable. Kai my waifu!

Playing a lot of Smash. The Online is infuriating but other than that it’s great!
The other game I’ve been playing is much more interesting...a little game called Heroes 2...for the gameboy! It’s a very oddly put together game that seems rushed lol but it’s super fun. It’s a strange mixture of the first and third games. I also have the first heroes for the gameboy, which is just a port of the first game. This second one has castle, rampart, stronghold, and fortress as it’s factions. Except the 7th tier is a dragon for everyone and there are no upgrades. Super random lol. Hilarious little gameboy sprites of basilisks, Rocs, and gorgons..etc. There’s a campaign and lots of maps. Hidden gem!

Yeah lol. It’s kinda neat though. Gold dragon is with castle, green with rampart, red is on stronghold, and blackie is with fortress. And fortress had the hydra for its t6 actually. I like to think they were at an inbetween phase of heroes 2 and 3 and still deciding on the tier 7s for h3
