Picked up Starcrawlers again.  I kicked it way back when and have beaten it at least once before but I really enjoy the game play.

After many hours of gaming I got ""Gamers Wrist"" diagnose so now I prefer to hang out with friends and try new real-life escape room games like World of Wizardry room inspired be Harry Potter or Jurassic Escape inspired by Jurassic Park. I'm fond of these games, we often book rooms in Escape60 here https://www.escape60.ca/ in downtown Calgary. The atmosphere there is really cool and extremely fun.

Armored Brigade.

A RTT about WWIIIsh. Pretty good. More realistic than most others but not all and not too badly burdened by the game engine limitation(still a bit, like only one unit on a tile, collision check, causes some pathfinding shenanigans but can be worked around.)

Also great case in point what happens when someone has a lot of ideas but not quite the perfect understanding of why they exist or how to exactly implement them.

For example, the game implements command delay, which is fine for a RTT game. But then it has zero autonomous decision making for units. So if you tell your AA piece to drive forward to a position and it comes under fire halfway you have two options:
A. let it keep suicide charging through the fire(and probably die)
B. cancel the movement order and give it an order to retreat, causing it to pause for the command delay(and definitely die)

Done right, you either remove the command delay(or make it very, very short) or you give units autonomous thinking to some degree. Like:
- Getting shot at -> seek cover -> return fire

The AI is a mixed bag. It knows how to use fire properly but it also loves to suicide charge it's MBTs into towns. So can't recommend for pure singleplayer.

With a little modding to command delay values it's an excellent multiplayer experience with a friend though...
...assuming it ever gets multiplayer...

I'm playing plenty, but I'm actually in the wait mode!

Like my subject matter states I'm playing plenty, but I'm actually in the wait mode!

While I've been messing around with DMC5

and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

and God of War 4,

what I'm really looking forward to is the new Mortal Kombat 11! Like really really looking forward to it X_X

I've even written a blog post to recap the narratives of the previous iterations in the series! Quite useful if you're preparing to meet the end of the trilogy head-on! Cheers <3

I finished Alien Isolation a couple of days ago. It's a really new game, besides I have an old love for Alien and Predator series both in movies and video games so I was really curious to try this one. And my opinion is that it's amazing, I think it's almost the best game in all these series. Plot, atmosphere, quests and graphics are on a very high level, and the game is really scary, I felt it all the time I played! So I definetely can recommend it too kfhkh
Also in general I prefer more various online games more like World of Warcraft, Cabal Online, Perfect World etc. I like some simple flash games too and online gambling, especially card games, sport bettings https://777score.co.uk/ and casino.

Gave Disciples 2 a run again with demons. Got bored out of my mind by around the campaign's fifth mission. I think the biggest flaw is how not every creature upgrade is viable and how the AOE heroes outshine the single target ones. I'd take 90 damage to 6 creatures over 180 to only one any day of the week. Also in most cases they come with an elemental source which beats weapon by a mile and also gives more freedom to choose your party composition. If you don't have an elemental source, you find one immune to weapon and you're screwed.

From that point of view Disciples 3 was much better. The diversity there allowed for some good choices. . Too bad they messed up the battle system.

Hmm? I remember my "Might" Heroes one-shoting most opponents for 300 dmg, and paralyzing (via artefact or ability) the rest afterwards. For AoE damage I usually took units from the Mage/Monster trees, or some unusual compositions like 5x Death. I always prefered melee Heroes over AoE ones, plus the 15% daily regeneration was useful, especially early game.

When it comes to what I play nowadays, it's rather a little bit of everything: Forza Horizon 4 (over 250h in, and still going strong!) Wargroove, Warparty, TW: WII, Hearthstone and recently back to H3: HotA. I preordered Fire Emblem TH, but there's still a long wait until 26th of July...

So why wouldn't you want to deal half of that damage and paralyse 6 units instead? The warrior lord bonus is the weakest late game and early game is almost useless because the creatures don't have enough HP to take advantage of the percentage. Mid game is a lot better because creatures usually have decent HP and the fights ensure you take damage. But I'd much rather have a mage lord at that point, cast a spell on the enemy and then wipe them in battle before taking any damage at all. With guildmaster the late game is even easier, it's probably the best lord in my opinion. Counterfeit orders is just insane, if you pull off a complete switch on the backline with the front you've won almost every battle for minimum cost.

I played Hordes extensively, they mostly deal death and weapon damage, if you have to fight a wraith or death you're in big trouble. Funnily enough that happens more than you might think, there's scenarios where they are even defending cities and you're royally screwed then because you can't even rely on magic to clear them. The only elemental source you find in the undead is the lich queen hero, and it pains me to go for her because nosferatu is so much better for the aoe drain. In long fights you are almost guaranteed to win, you can even put him in the front when he gets tankier.

I did play Mage heroes and it was also fun. But I always prefered Warrior heroes. I remember getting money for high tier buildings wasn't easy in this game so it was better to save money and not waste it on healing. And correct me if I'm wrong but there was a % change of paralyzing in AoE attacks, while Warriors gave you 100% paralysis on hit?

You're correct on the gold, getting high upgrades is very hard, you'd reach the exp requirements a lot sooner. I think the chance to paralyse is the same (can't remember exactly, but wasn't it tied with the item at 50%?) and I'm pretty sure there's no unit in the game with a 100% chance to do it, not at basic level anyway.

Fun fact on that note, I've seen before my leader miss with 100% chance, happens more often to aoe leaders since the roll is for more targets. Most likely a bug or something. The hit chance is very deceiving eithet way, sometimes I fought ghosts and they paralysed every time after dozens of  loads.

Units with AoE attacks apply the displayed hit chance to the main target and get a penalty for all other targets. In my experience this penalty is greater for the Mage leader and lower for the Mage units, for some reason. Not sure about the exact value. I've never seen a Warrior or Scout (except the Nosferatu, 'cause he's unique) miss their target with 100% chance.

As for the AoE units which don't deal damage - their hit chance appears to be constant across all targets. Thus, an Incubus boosted with a banner and potions practically needs to survive the first round attacks of the enemy and he's very likely to keep all of them petrified for the rest of the battle (great capitol thrasher along with the Fiend by the way).

Having finished Celeste recently (if you enjoy precision platformers and haven't heard about this one yet, go ahead and take a look - it's great), I started Yoku's Island Express. It's the most adorable game I've played in quite a while.

If you don't know Yoku's Island Express, imagine a metroidvania, but instead of regular platform elements you get pinball mechanics. You play as a beetle tethered to his little ball, roll it onto flippers and bounce your way around the island delivering mail. From what I've seen so far it's not a particularly difficult game, but it's just challenging enough to keep you focused. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a change of pace

When you're up to date on tech you just spam some mana on provinces that bring you plenty money. It's completely unbalanced in singleplayer, I conquered Japan as Ainu and it wasn't even that hard because you can simply wish money/manpower from nothing.

Or you use your ships to dominate some trade nodes if you are in such a position and collect sweet trade coin.

Or you simply grow more and more(just make sure to keep track of aggressive expansion and overextension/rebels.) Don't forget to core your land!
