There never was any real peace.

I annexed Cyprus in 1399 and from there on I was on a web of wars.

Funny note, it took me 15 years to fully subdue ottoman empire (this was somewhat early though) compared to the 7 years it took to subdue Ming

Dungeons of Dredmor. Playing as my third character now, first semi-serious one, named Hack von Slash. Descended to the third level now and haven't run into a whole lot of notable resistance. I'll probably bump up the difficulty level for my next character.

I decided to try the Median XL Omega mod for Diablo 2 since I'd never played a Diablo mod before. And I threw in Pluggy for the bigger stash.

It is an impressive mod. Lots of different monster types, lots of skills, lots of uniques, and sets. The unused areas have been made into "uber" or "heroic" areas.

I just finished the highest difficulty with my summoner/ice sorceress. Her summons are her familiar, ice elementals, and daystars (sort of undead mages, those from an O skill.)

It is definitely worth playing and it is enough different from Dialbo 2 to be fresh even if you've played tons of Diablo through the years.

I can't stand that game anymore. I used to play it a lot back in time and I had to use a 24/24H bot to have a slim chance for interesting artefacts or runes. An d of course he died from time to time and had to go back slam some cows. Is this mod enhancing the 0.000000000001 chance for finding something useful?

Yep. The uniques and sets are totally different than the ones in D2 and drop more often. Well, for sets, they don't start dropping until the final difficulty level. My first set piece dropped from Mephisto.

The rares can be very powerful.

Oh, there are more runes also, and totally different rune words. The runes drop much more frequently also. Runewords only need ONE rune. You fill in all the empty sockets with any jewels and then fill the last socket with the rune to make the runeword. The property of the jewels are added to the runeword. There are also jewel words and gem words.

Also, there are magic orbs that drop that can be used to add to the properties of items (and add 2 to the level requirement.) And you can buy magic orbs from the vendors.

Gambling is also cheaper, at least for rings and amulets which is mostly what I've gambled so far.

And the skills are all new so the experience should be fresh.

The mod requires replacing only one file so it is easy to install and uninstall. You can't play battle net with it installed but some people evidently play on lan or somebody's server that is set up like battlenet.

I would recommend you download the plugy mod also for the expanded/shared stashes.

Plugy gives you basically an unlimited stash. Median XL, which is one hell of an amazing mod, pretty much changes most things in the game. All skill sets are gone and replaced by new ones. New gems, new runes, new runewords, new items, new monsters, new everything. If you are bored of the original D2 then definitely try out the mod and you most definitely have to use plugy with it. It enhances the experience and makes it much better.

The only mod for D2 that I tried was Eastern Sun. And hell it was so easy with an auradin. On normal, I barely saw any enemies except for champions, elites and bosses. It had serious balance issues and the dungeons were badly messed up. Couldn't pass act 3 in Hell difficulty because I was unable to find Flayers Dungeon :/ you could even win set items in gambling. Meh. Despite all this crap it still had interesting ideas.

I am still playing Mas Effect 1 and 2, those games are so amazing and the replayability value is so huge.
My plans are to make a renegade Shepard who only has renegade squad members such as Morinth, Wrex and Zaeed in his squad.

I got tired of The Witcher 2 so didn't finish it. To dark and depressing for me I guess.

I started playing a bit The Sims 3 again and I made all my old class mates into sims.

I've started playing a bit of WoW again since the new patch is actually very good. The new daily quests are probably the best that have ever been made in the game and the new area, The Molten Front, is epic.
The Firelands raid contains lots of new raid mechanics that look very creative but I am more happy about that he old raids are puggable now since i'm not a hardcore raider anymore.

I just finished Killzone2.  I enjoyed it a lot, actually.  Good shooter, nice visuals.  Since I never played the first one the story, such as it was, made almost no sense... but who the hell needs a story in a shooter?

Next I'm playing Assassin's Creed 2 and looking forward to it.  I loved the first one and have heard that the second one is even better.

The story is basically: evil space nazi's fight totally non-evil non-oppressive humans

Be sure to NOT pick up killzone 3. It is worse in EVERY aspect and the story will only confuse you more

Any other shooters of similar quality you recommend for the PS3?  I was thinking of picking up Resistance, Fall of Man next.

I prefer squad-based cover shooters (Gears of War, etc.) but I've also enjoyed other ones as well (Halo series, Half Life series, etc.).

Resistance is good yes.

I could recommend Bad Company 2 but I  don't know if that's your thing

Dead Space 2 is a pretty good shooter. It is not squad based though. I never played DS1 but it is supposed to be good too.

Have you played Mass Effect 2? It is a squad based cover shooter-rpg with different classes so you can vary your playstyle a lot on replays. ME3 is coming out soon I think so can probably get it cheap if you keep a watch for it.

Dead space 1 contains alot more of horror elements and a lot less shooting than Dead space 2.
