Just finished Deus Ex Human revolution.

I played it as a rambo-hacker playthrough and really had a problem with the end because I ran out of bullets. I went with sarif in the end and that ending gave me goosebumps.

I also liked the atmosphere alot. It gave me a unique feeling throughout the game. This is one of the few games that had me feel it and made me think what I was doing.
I can give an example to this: Later in the game there will be a hotel and you will find an ebook of a guy telling his story.
He was a student who worked on that hotel as a receptionist and was gathering money to escape Hengsha.

Then, I saw a safe there. I hacked it and saw the money. For a moment, I stopped there. Stealing his money obviously had no effect on the story but I felt bad somehow. It simply made me think about my morals.

I never had that issue with other games.
If you are not into this type of game, you should defenitely check its soundtrack.
In fact, the soundtrack makes me depressed when I listen to it but its still beautiful.

that reminds me of a discussion in deus ex. you meet a family in Paris which is talking about their son who got hired by the milicia. and they are arguing, the father is like "his job is immoral and dangerous" and the mother is like "but he needs the job and the money" and as you keep listening to them, you realize that he is one of the soldiers down the street and you might have killed him already.

Might and Magic VII Big Daddy's Rev7mod. Refreshing and fun, but those old games really lack useful features. Have to constantly switch to online walkthrough to find one instructor or another. And Test of Friendship quest is terrific.

The old games just didn't hold your hand like the new ones, that's all. You had to find the things by yourself, sometimes following some vague clues and so on but just finding them felt like a reward. Now you have "achievements" for walking 100 game meters in a straight line or killing 3 enemies from class "blind, deaf and dumb".

Agree, but I believe the player should be able to keep notes about his journey. So when I find someone, write it down where is it and not have to search online later (because searching again in the game for hours is not fun). Notes in game I mean, not in notepad.

Aww your post reminded me of the time I played Ultima IV, I had a cool map and many pages of hand-written text of people's locations and cities and all sort of cool stuff. For me, writing notes in game isn't good, it's much easier and funnier to find stuff that you wrote yourself with your own hands

Btw, Might and Magic 1 also comes to mind, it was so cool drawing your own maps of the towns and places

Playing Orcs Must Die 2. I finished the campaign on Warmage difficulty with the sorceress and have finished about the first 5 maps on Nightmare. Very enjoyable.

Playing Orcs Must Die 2 as well.  Beat the game on apprentice, then going through Warmage with the Warmage.  I am not resetting my skulls, so upgrading the wrong things is making it tricky when going for 5 skulls on every map.  I tried one of the endless maps and it's crazy.

I'm also playing the Dungeons of Dredmor expansion Conquest of the Wizardlands, Mass Effect 3 mutliplayer, Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition (despite causing me to yell at a computer monitor like an idiot), and... I'm forgetting something.

I've only played one endless map, the first that you unlock. I wiped on wave 41, good enough to 5 star it. I only used acid traps, spike traps, ice vents, and dwarves. I think I can do considerably better with what I've learned since then.

I just finished the Precipice map on Nightmare. Very intense. I let some flyers sneak past me so I only got 3 skulls. Heh, lots of flyers and big units on the map. I used the polymorph ring for the first time on the map and it was very helpful. My gear was the wand, freezing decoy, floor scorcher, grinder, steam trap, barricade, manna trinket, vampiric gloves, polymorph ring, and the zapper. I should have put up more zappers on the side I did not set up on and those pesky flyers probably would not have gotten through.

For the $10.00 or so I think I've spent on Dungeons of Dredmor, I've put about 110 hours into it.  Easily one of the best games for the value.

As to OMD2, don't bother with getting the flame trap upgrade that lets you place the traps on the walls, Elodin.  They are not worth it.  It's a cool idea to place them above a hall way, but I have yet to notice any damage being done when placed that way.

As to Nightmare, I'm working through Warmage on both characters before going Nightmare.  I beat every mission in the first on Nightmare and know what a pain it can.  I'm not paying co-op either, so it should be a challenge.

As someone that often has a limited appreciation of RPGs, I've been playing Reckoning: Kingdoms of Amular and loving it. It's not a challenging game, but I never found that important for classic RPGs anyway. A lot of people wouldn't agree, but I love the color-filled, cartoonish style of graphics they put into a game that is based on a faerie-like, nature-filled fantasy world. Everything is just fantastic looking, and I've really been enjoying the plot as well, which I won't talk about It doesn't have the budget of a game like Skyrim, but it makes up for it in style.

I liked KOA:R.  It was a fun game with a great story and fun combat.  It wasn't very deep but it didn't need to be.

Hmmmmm. Are you sure those don't work on the wall?  I've put them above other traps before, but there are always so many traps going off that I don't notice what one particular trap is doing.

I have reached the final map in the Nightmare campaign. And failed twice on the last wave. Heh. Well, things get pretty hectic trying to defend those two rifts with all the boss type enemies that get throw at you. I just have to twink my strategy a little bit and pay attention to make sure those feakin' gnoll hunters don't get to my archers.

The thing that annoys me a little about Nightmare is you get no "Go" breaks to set up stuff so you have to set it up on the fly.

I'm not playing any coop either. But I guess that is a one of the things that makes it challenging.

-----------
Edit:  Nightmare has fallen!!! I knew my strategic genius could not be denied.
