if at least there was some explanation to it. you can completely clean a map, and enemies will keep spawning in. where do they come from?
there is only water outside of the maps, and they don't survive in it, if the amount of drown corpses is any indication...

I remember in diablo 2, when I'd cleared a large potion of an act, then I saved and exited. When I returned all the enemies were back.
Now I know it's supposed to be a feature, but it annoying me a lot back then.

Having massive fun with Insurgency.
Learning the maps... the right angles for maximum coverage... what weapon combinations work where (actually I just M429 SAW everything)...
Never played Counter Strike anything more than casually like 5 or 6 times but I imagine it's a similar sensation.
Insurgency is absolutely brutal though, pretty much everything is a 1-hit kill. Battlefield looks so funny with its forced suppression mechanics that make your aim go everywhere... in Insurgency you stay the **** down when bullet go flying... and not cuz of aim sway but because they're goddamn bullets and they're scary.
It's real fun, killer deal at 15$.

Speaking of CS, I'm currently downloading 1.6 to watch some of my replays on some respawn servers. I was constantly accused of hacking so I figured that providing demos myself would prevent me from getting banned. And of course, a ton of screenshots made by the admins but lost most of them.
If anyone's interested I could get them uploaded. Approximately 3 hours of replay and 30 screenshots.

not fond of FPS with 1-hit kills (unless it's a headshot of course). it seems to favour campers too much.

why the **** is the last boss in "baldur's gate - dark alliance" a LOT easier to kill than the lizard boss in the swamp level? that's ****ing stupid. i expected some epic battle, and she was easy to kill. i mean, really. run up to her, and slash the **** out of her with any decent weapon, and game over? i was expecting her to make the onyx tower come to life and try to smack me with big chunks of it or something. that was about as un-boss as you can get. 
and on top of that, i don't get to restart with all the goods i picked up in the onyx tower(that i kept switching out, and making sure i got the best weight-to-gold ratio), make some hellacious bank, and play again at max difficulty or something? the first diablo was better than this, ffs.
well, at least the graphics were worth a damn. the storyline was retarded, though.

All of the original Guild Wars stuff is on -50% sale on steam if anyone is interested.
That's 22 €/£/$ for the whole game. 15 for just the trilogy without eye of the north.
It's a damn good deal if you ask me.

Played for like 2 days and suddenly I'm permanently banned from playing Insurgency.
Seriously wat. Apparently I'm a hacker. WAT WAT. I'm not even good.
How do I lift this ban? I can't believe this bull****.

Still playing Dragon Age.
Carefully planned gain for the throne and alistair marrying that blonde queen broad I aimed for was thrown out through the window after a few pints later.
Ordered alistair to kill loghaine, the lad got a bit pissed that he got the throne, and the broad is locked up in the tower.
because chaos.
Let's see how this all plays out in the end.

Gothic III. Not bad but everything is so slow, probably needs 1 real year of playing to finish.
Attack on Vengard, 1 hour to kill 100 orcs, 2 hours more to loot them. Animation "hero looks down, then hero uses hand to loot, then hero turns sides to loot, then hero puts loot in pocket" simply the most creepy one could imagine. 5 seconds to loot a corpse.
No cursor, objects activate when they are in some angle. You can easily confound a dead corpse with the fire nearby, and when fire camp activates, it follows a 20 seconds animation where hero says something, then slowly kneels, search for meat in inventory, gets a tool to put meal on, places the meal on the fire, waits to roast it, takes back the meal and so on.
No way to stop the animations if you slipped.
Other than that, the world is bigger than Skyrim and quests much less "bring me an apple" style. The combat is unique, if you keep frenetically clicking as in other RPG, you will die in seconds. Every creature has an unique attacking pattern which you must break.
Downside for testing and learning patterns: the whole world loads in save. Which means 1-2 minutes to wait when reload. A time sucker game.

Still Dragon Age.
In the end, it turned out rather well, with all the crap I did in the storyline.
one flop of the game: Y U NO LET ME LOOT THE LAST BOSS????!!!!11one11!
anyways, on to the Awakening storyline, which seems rather interesting so far.
Also been playing a bit of Minecraft. The 1.8 patch so far is pretty awesome, should've done that a long time ago.
Thinking of picking up Xenonauts in the near future. from the "let's plays" I watched seems like a pretty awesome spiritual successor to the original X-Com.

I think it would be nice if everyone commenting a game could upload (even a short) video about.
Next week I get a new PC, replacing the 2008 one so will be able to finally play more recent games than Heroes 3

You could have played hundreds of "more recent games than H3" with a 2008 machine, considering the game is from 1999. So, I guess not much will change.

Was a bit of sarcasm towards myself, I am very conservative about everything.
I decided to buy a new one as Gothic (2006) is incredibly slow, while excellent game and I want to finish it at least.

Hmm, even with the best hardware I still experience a bit of lags. Both Skyrim and Gothic 3.
And lol at win7. So much hassle from MS, still XP was way more friendly. Installing patches for games, overwriting files, thousand pop ups about administrator rights, change "read only mode" and more of this BS.
After spending 3 hours to click there and there, you finally set the XP options you had before.
So 3 hours lost.

spawns in bioshock 2 are still retarded. sometimes enemies spawn right in your back. I kill a protector, 10s later, a new one shows up. the good thing is I have so much adam that I'm not sure what to do with it lol. I mostly summon robots and wasp swarms to defend against hordes of chrosomes.
