I quit WoT today. I was really good at the game, but the gameplay began to frustrate me lately. Games ending after 2-3 mins with autolose or autowin (both suck) was the main cause.
Playing Diablo3 RoS, and enjoying it.

Trying out Xenonauts.
Eat you heart out Firaxis, this is X-Com done bleeping right.
Even though it was a great game, but it was dumbed down for the growing populace of morons. Which is not nice.
Absolutely well done game in overall, nice alien species to kill, and the difficulty and the challenge is great.
This game puts you back in the days of the original X-com(Which I had the opportunity to first play in 2000 something). unforgiving and kicking you in the nuts for every little screw up.
Amazing.
Really would like to see a Terror from the deep-esque expansion or crap. that'll be awesome.
also Minecraft. After the latest patch, it's not a huge pain in the arse to repair your tools and enchant them. The down of it is only just basic blocks of the new stone types (No slabs, stairs, bricks and such) otherwise it's a pretty good update.

I liked the new X-Com as well. It's a very well made game.
But it lacked in difficulty. unless you turned the difficulty to the max and checked the Iron Man box.
I know, I know, It's supposed to be modern and such, which means it's dumbed down for the current iPhone wielding generation of imbeciles and so.
The new X-com, while being a very well developed game with a good intent and a genre which these days seems dying, lacks in it's difficulty.
The original X-com even on easy was bleeping hard as hell. Even with a buddy at your side it was difficult to survive it.
I remember countless sessions where we were blasting the xeno scum away for a good few hours, then they come back and bite us in the arse. This factor what made it enjoyable to the max.
Xenonauts bring back this feeling. even on easy it's hard as bleep. which is what all such games should be. It should make you think.

What did you think I did?

Trying to set up Tale of two Wastelands (Fallout 3 + New Vegas in same game) and my mind is about to blow up getting all my favourite stuff in there and compatible.
Nexus has really effing spoiled me, just navigating the mod threads on the TTW forums gives me a headache. Have like 20 tabs open, god.
And yet... it's fun messing with the stuff, trying to get it work.

The ambulance will find me passed out on the keyboard, a browser with 200 tabs of compatibility patches and a mod manager approaching selfdestruction.
I really like that there is even a TTW mod that changes the tone of the player voice to match between the games, and even adds dialogue references to New Vegas based on your experiences in Fallout 3.
Really looking forward to how Onix ENB will look on the Capital Wasteland... tihi.
EDIT:
*starts Fallout 3 just to generate the ini files or whatever*

Have my sights on the game for some time, but lost interest. But after discovering that one of the races are some cool dragon people (really like their design) my interest came back.
You can hardly call it a TBS, as it is a 4X game, but still, I think in terms of atmosphere, UI, and overall artistic impressions this has the potential to be the first turn based game in a while to stay for a while on my PC

Did anyone of you try it?
I have been very tempted to pick it up. I need something to keep me occupied until Civilization: Beyond Earth comes our and Endless Legend looks very interesting.

Horribly sluggish, unintuitive interface, cheating starter races(115/80 civ points wtf?), REALLY SLOW to start(your basic starter building takes 7-9 turns to build and first level army unit takes 13-15)
Battles are cool, not heroes or aow cool but way better than any civ. Very good map cutomization. Nice custom empire(but too little points! and too few negatives) Basically a civ clone(this is a plus)
PS. Oh yeah, manual battles tilt when two units want to get to the same location.
Not worth buying yet.

Hmm... Thanks for the recommendation. I think I will pass. Currently, Age of Wonders III is 50% off on Steam, so I think I will pick that up instead.
