I'd feel a shread of pity for Iran if it contemporized beyond the point of lashing women for showing their hair in public. Until that day, I will consider it nothing more than a backwater, barbaric nation.

I'm not sure where a nation which mistreats and exploits the poor and third world countries finds the guts to lecture other nations on bad standards of ethics and morals.

At the very least individual rights are protected in that nation, so on that point, yes, they actually do have the right to criticise others for that.

Meh. I have no problem with people going "What the **** are you doing?" at Iran after seeing women whipped in public and hands being cut off randomly. What I tend to find confusing is America trying to sanction it to stone age for allegedly having plans to some day build a nuke while they themselves chill with 5000 of those.
I mean, ok, they definitely shouldn't have nukes, but what happened to the 'lead by example' thing? I somehow wouldn't feel comfortable with America exclusively owning nuclear weapons while telling me I need to trust in their democratic higher judgment.
But yeah, it's a psycho social system they've got over there, I hear.

I support Iran getting nukes, but America/Israel (and Saudi Arabia) might not let that happen at all costs for fear of them being handed down to 3rd party proxies, which is a legitimate fear, but the way I see it such dangers are unavoidable and I trust Iran more than Pakistan, and yet Pakistan already has nukes, so whatever...
Iran getting nukes means the US will leave them alone. If your conventional army blows but you have nukes, that's all it takes. A 2nd cold war will issue in peace.

I could argue really, but it's the same as argueing with religious fanatics; it's pointless and a waste of time. I'm more of a 'live and let live' kind of person, in the sense that I fully support your right to be conceited. Just as much as I have the right to mock it.

You CLAIM you could present an argument, but I sure as hell don't recall you ever actually doing it. I seriously doubt if you could, especially since most of the crap you post is total nonsense.
So you post your one-liners with no knowledge, no evidence, and not even a logical argument, and then when someone disagrees with your nonsense all you do is claim that they are nationalistic, or blind sheep or whatever other stupid counters you use to compensate for not having any substance to your claims.
And if you think I'm nationalistic, again you don't know what the hell you're talking about. I'm a borderline anarchist, I hardly think that qualifies as nationalistic.

Irony? Yea, I knew before I posted it that you would bring that up. But maybe if you think you can remember when I have addressed these topics in detail. I don't see any need to repeat it every time I post. The problem with Moonlith (and a few others) is that rebellious one liners are virtually the ONLY thing they post.
I still find it totally hard to believe how many people who have probably never stepped foot into another country think they know so much more about it than people who have lived there for decades. That just totally amazes me how bold that is.

Interesting videos.
In theory I would support overthrowing government in countries that treat citizens badly, even when they don't pose any treat to the world. I just don't care about states or nations, only about good people in them. Yet, this will never be the case. Governments are overthrown for economic and political reasons and most usually for no good.
Moonlith, declaring forum members stupid doesn't make you a critical thinker, it does the opposite.

You've lived in Iran for decades?
Until you explain what part of what Bixie said is wrong or meaningless, or at least link to a post made ten years ago in which you did that, you're not only not better, but are also infinitely funnier since you're getting frustrated.
Anyway, I could agree with you if it weren't for two factors. One, nations like yours are constantly doing just that to nations like mine; and two, every nation contains dumb people, and dumb people believe what they're told. That's how propaganda works. A lot of people living in Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia had no idea just how crappy that system is. It's understandable that the same happens to the uneducated masses from Iran, North Korea, mid-west USA etc.
