Heroes 6 so far: like and dislike list; every opinions are wellcome
Since announcement topic a bit more focused about arguments, let's everyone compile their own list and see the statistic yourself
Here's mine:
Like:
- Creature art so far: Griffin have a much better pose now compare to HV to say a few
- town convert
Dislike:
- Rumor said about no town screen that is the biggest letdown, all heroes game has them and they always been part of heroes game literally and one of many reason why I keep coming back to play the game, a big no-no
Mixed feeling:
- 4 resources: so far I can't really tell and rumors said about unique resource.
- Initiative: In HV, HV's Initiative is one of my favorite feature in HV. But yes the balancing probably an issue here since one unit can move twice while others extremely slow. But I'll leave the judgment after real play
- Linked Mine to Town. While this is probably good but the method of the feature itself still lack of detail. This is my suggestion/guess:
1. Linked Mines must be build and can be linked to any town of your choice. The cost and build time (in days) will be determined on the range form the considered mines to the town of choice.
- Heroes unique ability and skill (there is no longer random choices): Probably good, need a very careful implementation. If implemented perfectly, you will get a very good list of heroes with unique playing style. But I'll leave at it. Observing this new feature for now.

Like:
- graphics and overall art direction. It's looking amazing and better than ever.
- town conversion
- battlefield HUD
- a healthy amount of new units, none of which looks like a "filler"
- more detailed magic items that feel like I'm playing diablo love that.
- initiative like in H1-3.
- the idea that each faction has a very distinct strategy during a battle.
- skill system from H5 is still here.
- 1 hero for might and 1 for magic. Yes!
Dislike:
- no intown screen, if that's true news
- only one special resource. 4 was too much I agree, but IMO 2 would be perfect (crystals and mercury for example).
Mixed:
- 5 factions. I would have preferred 6 but who knows, perhaps 5 is just fine. It wasn't a problem for me in H4.

As I also said in the announcement topic, while the game might not be the perfect display of what I had in mind, it does seem promising.
Above all, I was hoping for more than 5 factions. However, according to the interview, each faction will be somewhat unique, so that might just cover up for it. Hopefully, there will be one or two more factions added in the expansions, too, since I assume it will have two add-ons, as well. As such, in regard to the factions, I'd rather remain neutral, for the time being.
Also, the number of resources being reduced to four is another thing I wouldn't be quick to judge. This kind of change has the potential of being both an improvement and a downfall, the outcome left to be determined by the way it's handled. I wouldn't want the game to lack variety, and become too plain and simple, but it is possible for this one resource to replace all the previous rare ones, and still give the same complexity in gameplay on this topic, yet in a new way, thus bringing a plus of enjoyment. It only depends on how they'll make the trade turn favourable. So, until any precise facts show up to answer my call, I'll remain neutral regarding this as well.
Now, I like the idea of converting the towns you capture. I find that quite an interesting and realistic change. I'm pretty sure something like that is up to your choosing as to when to do, so the player might also have the freedom of never doing it at all. As of the mines there only to be taken once the kingdom running them is captured, that might also give the gameplay an enjoyable different direction of sorts, as it gives the opportunity of a certain, easily settled, advantage to all the players.
Also, I like the idea of being able to build a hero with more precision. One shouldn't mistake precision with lack of variety, nor variety with randomness. Precision means not leaving things to chance, and variety means having more possible choices, while randomness means not being entirely able to determine an outcome. Now, one can either choose to pair variety with precision, or randomness. I, for one, would go for the former any day of the year. The previous games always left room for the random, which is one thing I always thought needed a change.
On the other hand, I must say that excluding the in-town screen is a change I don't find fit. I find it pretty hard to picture a turn without entering the castle for one of the many purposes it's known to serve. I'm quite curious how they plan on making up for this.

I think lack of town screen and resources might be just temporary,so we will have them on final versions.
As you can see from this :http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/6292/ssldk.jpg - H5 dungeon building screen is for necropolis, thing that is impossible,so we have an in-develop version in these screens.

^That's a photoshopped pic to show a possibility for the construction.
Not much disappointment here, except the lack of town screens if it's true, and of course I expected more factions so I'm gonna miss whichever doesn't make the cut.

Like:
- Developing from H5 instead of starting from scratch (remember when H5 started with no caravans & no hero paper doll?)...
maybe the initial game will be more complete closer to H5TotE 3.1 rather than H5 1.0
- Keeping 7 tiers/stacks
- Keeping battle map from H5
- Keeping heroes off battlefield like H5
- Removing peasants from Haven!
- Rumoured morale & luck being increments of 10 with other factors (artis) being increments of 5.
- Rumoured better campaigns & single-player rpg elements (at least can play in any order!)
Dislike:
- Rumoured removal of H5 initiative system & going back to H3 system (I like H5 initiative system but with less range of numbers)
- Rumoured linking of mines to towns
- Rumoured certainty of picking the skill/perk one wants (some skills in H5 are rare 2% for a reason)
- Necro & demon lovers
- revolutionising the whole thing from gains in H5
Mixed:
- Only 1 rare resource
- Each faction strikingly different in how they play: uh oh
oh & please include FULL Documentation in game first up [me picking summoning magic to try for Summon Phoenix with Isabel in 1st campaign was a big let down]
Good format.
I put rumoured because I personally haven't seen 100% confirmation of those.
let's post quick while at beginning of thread
Edit: instead of building/enhancing from H5 (it fooled me!), now dislike revolutionising whole thing away from H5 which seems a lot of effort for questionable/little/negative gain

From what i've seen it seems okay. I'm reasonably optimistic...
I liked the RPG elements and the combat a lot and the wide variety of units, so I like what i've seen a lot. I also liked the story. Well, I liked the story of Godric and Markal. markal was hilariously and obviously evil and I loved him. i fet like he deserved to win, because, you know, he's had to put up with a lot of stupid snow from those griffin peasants.
I liked Godric because Godric was the only one with brains in the whole ordeal.
I hope they fluffed up the story or paid some decent story. Black hole released mark of chaos and I know their story was... Decent, but not very character driven, so I'm interested in this development. I also like the removal of the resources and the town screen. Building of the town and resource management was very tedious and annoying. constantly reclaiming mines from enemy scouts was damn stupid and made me quite a lot. let me just have good and interesting sieges with a wide variety of units and such and I'm happy.
Admittedly I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I think the series isn't that complicated that it's appreciated by a lot of hardcore gamers anyway. I'm not sure about much else, but currently it looks like something I'd pick up and, hey, it's turn-based, so system requirements should be low, right?

Like:
- Town screen: there is still a town screen, or more accurately, a town window. Each town still have its own theme music and all. It is a 2D, animated town screen. The Haven town screen was part of the missing elements, that's why it was replaced by a mere screenshot for the demo.
- You can see more info about a city on its 3D model on the adventure map (not just its town hall and if it has fortifications). You can learn a lot about your adversary's strategy just by observing how he developed his towns.
- There are still mines on the adventure map. You still have to flag them in order to gain resources. The new stuff is now all mines are in the "area of control" of a city or fort. Once you own the fort/city of an area and flagged(?) the mines, the only way to take the mines from you is to capture the city/fort that controls the area.
- However, it is still possible to occupy an enemy mine with one of your heroes to steal his resources. But the mine automatically reverts back to the owner of the area of control as soon as you leave it.

Control zones for towns so you don't need to invest in a pickup hero
Only 5 races, You can actually specialize in a race, and not be able to
get away with not knowing the tricks of all races. Remember, Starcraft has only 3 races, and warcraft only 4 that are playable.
Town screens(I assume that town windows are towns screens.)
Easier to deny resources(the trading system really threw a wrench in the ability of players to deny the enemy their upgrade resource.
You can just take a quick look at the opponents town and see what strategy they are going.
Dislike:
All the scheptisism that forum goers are throwing around, its like they expect heroes 6 to be a bust no matter what happens. These are the two opinions that seem to be floating around at the moment...
Nothing got changed! Its a bust because i could play heroes 5 and get the same experience.
A few things got changed! This is going away from the Heroes formula, what could they be thinking?!

Less factions is pretty much a balance feature. Having 8 factions and trying to keep them all closely balanced is almost impossible if you're going to make all of them highly unique (I'm sure more will be added in expansions)

Quote: Only 5 races, You can actually specialize in a race, and not be able to get away with not knowing the tricks of all races. Remember, Starcraft has only 3 races, and warcraft only 4 that are playable.
Um, that's what specialisation means.
Quote: Easier to deny resources(the trading system really threw a wrench in the ability of players to deny the enemy their upgrade resource.
Harder to deny resources since there are fewer types of resources (no more having to trade for that one precious resource you haven't got a mine for), and they're not tied to your town if they're in its zone of control.
Quote: You can just take a quick look at the opponents town and see what strategy they are going.
You can see what buildings he's got, but that gives few clues as to his strategy, and its not like there are actually that many buildings in any case. And its not like there's that many strategies either, the tier system is linear and fixed, it doesn't allow you to focus on and speedsters over tanks, or casters over archers.
Quote: Nothing got changed! Its a bust because i could play heroes 5 and get the same experience.
A few things got changed! This is going away from the Heroes formula, what could they be thinking?!
Actually, there are four voices out there, those that want a totally new game, those that want H3 in 3D, those who'd like a balance between old and new, and think that they're going about it in the wrong way, and those who are content to sit around and wait to see else is coming. Personally I'm one of the third group, I'm open to new ideas, but IMO they're going about it in the wrong way, changing things that shouldn't be changed, while at the same time leaving some fairly glaring errors in that ought to have been right at the top of the list (like the scale of the adventure map and the size of the battlefield).

@Lucky: I quote the following thing you said again, to elaborate on what MattII responded:
Quote: Only 5 races, You can actually specialize in a race, and not be able to

The whole point of being a specialist is that said race is your best. If you were equally good at playing all races, you'd be a generalist (not specialized).
So, the two parts of the quoted part are contradictory.
Just clarifying in case you didn't get what MattII meant.

Likes:
- Nice non cartoony graphics
- Hero customization. In WOG I allways put my name to my stronger hero, so even with a mere rename hero option I'll be happy.
- Town conversion. YES!! I hate having 3 different town types, instead of being loyal to my chosen town and reinforce my main army. However the system should be something like this:
1. Price of conversion varies according to town level.
2. Conversion process should allways last a week!!!
3. If the former owner of the town captures it before the end of the conversion process, the process is cancelled and the enemy would have lost his money.
Dislikes:
- Only 5 starter races. Seeing as the whole game turned out to be a lot simplier (town windows, I'm looking at you) I don't see any reason for it.
- No hexes. Some people say that hexes would be to difficult to execute in 3D.... but there is kings bounty.
- Small battlefield.
- At first sight/read the gameplay it's aimed to be a lot faster...
Thoughts:
- Mark of Chaos had long loading times, that might be the reason behind the 2D town window, to avoid the loading of a new 3D instance inside the engine (besides combat screen) everytime you click on town, so now, everything happens on the adventure map.
- Seems that Black Hole really liked the Warhammer designs, as I'm seeing on the unit design, and especially on the egiptian undead. Anyway, that's a good thing in my book.
Warhammer Undead Building
W40K Necron Monolith
HOMMVI Undead town
Last two are pretty similar...
