You'd never guess that people who write stuff like this want to be taken serious.
You must be kidding, and considering what I was about to write I think you deliberately want to provoke me. No one can't be that stupid and write this kind of nonsense honestly believing it.

you see a lot of killing on TV, usually it is forbidden to kids under 10, but often, parents aren't as cautious about it as about porn I think. is it better than watching porn?

Kids do not end up as serial killers if they watch ehm... something violent on TV etc. And children who watch porn won't become rapists though maybe they will be a bit depressed in the end. xD
its not like you usually see mondo/gore and rapes on tv...

Your point IS nonsense, and of the worst kind.
It has nothing at ALL to do with the original issue - porn.
It is a LIVE event - except when watching stuff over a live cam, porn is pre-recorded.
It's even for races and traffic just WRONG in EVERY respect, like, race drivers are never driving "careful" anyway, a race has nothing to do with normal traffic, and race cars behave completely different behaviour from normal cars when crashing, and so on and so on.
So watching this, kids may learn how to race at te most, as watcing porn kids may learn how to behave when making a porn movie.
Worst of all is, that you, a moderator, is arguing for arguing's sake, and then on a level not even fit for children. And YOU tell Mvass, HE'd be playing devil's advocate and should stop.

Actually, I don't think watching someone kill another person can influence a kid. Otherwise, we'd have more serial killers that we had in the past, and that's not true. Psychopathy doesn't really trigger because you have watched sheriff X shoot bandit Y in the head as a kid.
With sex, on the other hand - explicit sex - it's worse because of zero actual education in that matter for most kids. Unlike killing, sex is something you probably will do in your life. If your only sense of knowledge about human anatomy is from porn movies, you may be disappointed or insecure later. Which is a thing I think is best to avoid.
So, my conclusion is that porn may be more "harmful" than violence for kids to watch, albeit it's still not something worth a ban.

aren't you the one who said that porn desensitize people? isn't it the same with violence at the tv.
yeah, of course, it doesn't make people become psychopaths, but does porn makes them rapists?
the problem might be that sexual education is nearly inexistant (at least in France)
you learn you shouldn't rape, to protect yourself against sexually transmissible diseases, and some bullsnow about love relationships
actually, maybe there should be love education, rather than sexual education. the problem is your chance to find someone who really understands what is love is really low.

Well, of course there ARE problems with violence on TV, but those are different. Violence is supposed to be AVOIDED - which iss not true for sex -, so whether you see people being killed or not is somewhat secondary, since the fact that a crime is a crime isn't touched there. There is no violence drive in human beings.
The problem with violence is another one. You probably all know cartoons, Tweety and Sylvester, Roadrunner, you name it, which are massively violent - of course without any consequences. Coyote may die five thousand times, comes the next panel, he's busily planning his nexxt attack. This is no problem for kids.
Now, modern action movies suffer from basically the same problem: violence isn't shown with the correct consequences. Movies are REAL, real people, real action, real life situations, everything is like the real thing, so the natural conclusion is that the depiction of violence must be somewhat real as well.
As a rule, though, if people hit each other, they can do it five minutes, with not much damage being done, except a few bruises. People survive heavy accidents without a scratch. They get shot and hit, and never suffer much - a hit in the leg, the bullet didn't hit something important, so it's just like a bad ankle or something.
So the problem is the mix of reality with fiction, and the fiction part is in reality downplaying the effects of violence, and it is known that this makes kids more willing to live out juvenile aggressions violently. Lots of kids are quite shocked after a brawl, what actually happens with a guy when they hit him squarely in the face.
Of course that problem exists with porn as well, the mix of reality and fiction where the kids have not much of a chance to see the line. The difference is, that sex isn't forbidden like violence. So for violence the only thing to keep in mind is that kids shouldn't be "motivated" to become violent themselves. For porn, though, this is completely different. Sex is a very important part of everyone's life, however, it's no standalone since it has something to do with social interaction. and it's the social interaction part - the context - that is missing.
Take teacher porn as an example, since this is a point where fiction and the reality of kids meet. I suppose most, if not all kids are somewhat dreaming of having sex with their teacher in a certain age. There are good reasons why, first and foremost, in reality this is as forbidden as violence, but that's of course not keeping porn to serve that fantasy. But what does it do for a kid to watch that? Clearly, it's way better to leave that to the imagination of the kids, because there just should not be any way for that fantasy to become true (and in fact lots of porn IS played-out fantasy one way or another in terms of "social context").
And here I haven't even touched the depiction of sex. I mean, let's face it, a facial is clearly NOT the best way to end your first real-life sexual encounter with your girl friend, 999.999 times out of a million, still, watching porn you might think it's the only way real men end it and real women want it.
Bottom line is, I don't think, porn is for kids. I don't think DOWNPLAYED violence is for kids either, IF the rest of the scenario is "real".

I agree.
Good thing girls usually don't like porn. They would otherwise be pretty surprised seeing their boyfriend's tiny penis after seeing loads of monster sized penises. sure, there is unbiased info about it but cmon, visual memory is hard to beat.

The average size is somewhere between 22 and 28 cm, right? Girls always say size does not matter (of course, if between those limits, naturally).

Lol.
By the way, it's not true that girls don't like porn. They like different kind of porn, that's for sure.
Most people won't know, but there was a time when porn had a certain chic - must be 30 years or so ago. There were people who had actually ambitions - does the name Lasse Braun ring any bells? In any case I can remember watching porn that was pretty erotic, that is, you could really believe the people enjoyed what they wre doing.
Anyways, there IS a market for adult movies for women. This is an interesting site:
http://www.pornmoviesforwomen.com/
(have no fear, nothing explicit, as far as I can see).

What is feminist porn? What does government support for feminist porn mean? What kind of person would rouse that kind of conversation? What does it say about the culture in wich this debate has become in anyway relevant?
