The grind, the quests, the story... I think I played too much before, and now I spoiled it. I'll give one last chance to it when my new comp arrives, but I don't think it'll seize it.

Skyrim is more about freedom the way I see it. If you want a more story driven experience play Dragon Age.

Slitting throats was fun though. I wanna try more of that. Sad that I tried Assassin's Creed and it sucked.

I think there's a 'live another life' mod that lets you skip the tutorial, and I KNOW there are mods that add new quests (Wyrmstooth, Falskaar, one that added a Skyrim-converted version of one of the Resident Evil games)...would that help any?

Skirim is about trying mods. As long as there are new interesting mods, it is worth restart over and over. But in per se, is the proof that absolute open games get boring fast, because no strong scenario and polished progression to follow.

Tried installing live another life, that was the one mod I failed to set up correctly. Maybe on my new comp.
Meanwhile, are there any good RPGs all about slitting throats?

I was playing Oblivion yesterday and heard some random NPC chatter that intrigued me. Apparently the Greybeards were talking about the end of the world back in Oblivion. Foreshadowing for Alduin's return, or just commenting on the Daedric invasion?

The Invasion I believe
I don't think they had in mind yet what the next game would be when making Oblivion

I had a little trouble justifying using Umbra with my paladin, and then I found Talos' Shrine. Prepared for war? Check! That sword is SO much fun to carry around at level five! XD

I see you didn't install the "Thomas the tank engine" dragons.
Might I ask why?

I made some progress on the Knights of the Nine quest, and I have to say...it's a little creepy that when I left the place it was abandoned, and when I came back not only was it fixed up but it was stuffed with people I never told where it was and some of them I haven't even met. Yes Layton, it's very sad that your master died...but I never actually met the man so would you please stop acting like I know who he is?
Edit: Aaaand finished Knights of the Nine. That was it? I was expecting more backstory. I'll admit to being somewhat disappointed that they just infodump the Song of Pelinal in the first quest or so and then never really touch on it again.
Edit again:
Finished the Fighters' Guild questline. Now I need to decide what to do next: Skyrim or Fallout: New Vegas?
Edit yet again:
Do any of you who mod know how to tweak the values of the Slow Poison? I found the magic effect for it in the Creation Kit, but no values controlling the power (EX: 50% speed vs. 25% vs. 150%).

Got bored and revisited my old project, made some screens since I've got a better video card...
Enjoy...
It made me sad to see the potential, but the game simply can't be molded to my desires...
What do you think? This is but a small portion of the changes I had made, consider it a teaser.
DISCLAIMER: The project is to be considered abandoned, don't get your hopes up, should I decide to work on it again I won't let you know, I don't want to ruin expectations, since I'm not sure I'll ever finish this.

So I got used to playing as a boxer and it became too easy to just pwn everything. Therefore I'm setting myself a challenge. Mods affecting gameplay will be SPERG and Stealth Skills Rebalanced.
NO consumables(potions/ingredients/food
NO shouts
NO crafting(including tempering) Not even to farm gold.
NO casting spells that positively affect battle outcome(direct damage, wards, mage armor, invisibility, muffle, summoning, reanimating, heal, etc) I reserve the right to cast Clairvoyance and the spell necessary to join the college of Winterhold. Out of combat I may cast, IF I don't engage in battle afterwards. Casting Illusion spells is PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES except Clairvoyance
NO enchanted gear. I reserve the right to sell any I find as loot
NO weapons other than Iron ones( untempered, unenchanted) I reserve the right to sell looted weapons. I can use a torch if I wish.
NO shields. Same exception as with enchanted gear.
NO allies; followers, summons, conjurations etc. Out of combat I may conjure stuff in order to train, but not for any other purpose. If the game temporarily foists an ally on me, I'll have to live with it, but getting rid of them ASAP is a priority.
NO taking the Good Listener perk.
Difficulty has to be set to Legendary
What do yall think? Too easy?
Experience: Snowing annoying to level the stuff you need, takes a snowton of time, end result not nearly as epic as with SPERG Weapon styles.
Endgame stats(Level 52): Damage: 156(Ignores 100% Armor) Armor: 531 Magic Resist: 85% Magic + 20% Frost. Damage from Arrows halved. Damage from Melee reduced by 20%. Melee Haste 70%. Melee attack has 10% chance to stun. Health: 460 Stamina: 400 Magicka: 100 Carry Weight: 577 Didn't test against Dragons, everything else is doable. With that much Magic Resist, they shouldn't be insurmountable.
Same rules, SPERG Weapon Styles mod
Endgame stats(Level 51):
Health 470 Stamina 360, Magicka 100. Carry Weight 568
Damage: 272( Ignores 100% Armor) Armor rating: 531
Magic resist: 70% Magic
Damage from Arrows halved. Damage from Melee reduced by 20%
Melee haste 85%(passive)Skooma Frenzy: Once every 6 hours, movement rate and attack speed are doubled for 1 RL minute.(Active) Whirlwind: For 10 RL seconds, attack speed increased by 150%, Armor Rating halved(Active, spammable)
Leveling takes AGES, if I'm serious about playing this build taking Good Listener early is the only way I'm doing it. (Except when I use console commands to take a peek at possible endgame stats)
Which reminds me, endgame skill points:
Pickpocket, One-Handed, Two-Handed, Light Armor, Heavy Armor, Sneak, Lockpicking: 100
Alteration: 70
Earlygame perk choice order: Ancestral Awakening, Good Listener, Bladesman, Skullcrusher, Great Swings. Effects: Base unarmed damage doubled, Skooma Frenzy acquired, 30% Melee Haste, attacks ignore 50% armor, training unlocked. Needed stats:
Level 10
Speech 20 (Getting this ASAP IS AN ABSOLUTE PRIORITY)
Alteration 15
Two-Handed 30
One-Handed 30
Midgame perk choice order - note, this is more flexible as by this point you need about 4000 Gold and access to at least expert, ideally Master trainers: This way, desired skills can be trained up to 75-90 relatively quickly, in quick succession:
Single Weapon Style
Dual Weapon Style
Sagacious Warrior
Fighting Stance
Vigorous
Savagery
Celerity
Toxic Touch
Acid Splash
Dodge
Blade Catcher
Cheap Shot
Fists of Steel
Needed stats:
Level 36
One-Handed 80
Pickpocket 100
Heavy Armor 30
Lategame perk choice order:
Inexorable
Magic Resistance (Note: Before taking on Dragons, acquire the Agent of Mara and Lord Stone powers to max out magic resistance at 70%)
Skirmish tactics
Thick Padding
Mounted Knight
Requirements:
Level 46
One-handed 90
Light Armor 80
Heavy Armor 55
Alteration 70
From here on, you basically stop leveling unless you make Pickpocket Legendary, train it up to 90 with the Thieves Guild, and fully master it by moving your gold around on a sleeping target. Perks to be considered at this stage, for extra cheese:
Keymaster
Extra Pockets
Purse Snatcher
Warded Plate
Iron Will
Frost Aura
Stalwart Defender
Wall of Iron
Ignore Pain
Soldier
Sneak Attack
Ethereal Arrows
Eagle Eye
Power Shot
Silence
Requirements:
Level 76
Destruction 55
Archery 65
Block 10
Heavy Armor 100
Light Armor 90
Sneak 50
At this point, you are GOD.
Have fun punching stuff!
