My character has begun doing actual backstabs with his two-hander since the 1.5 patch.
Sure I don't get the massive multiplier that one-handers get, but it's SILENT.
Slit their throats with that giant two-hander heh...
EDIT:

Sounds like a certain Dark Brotherhood orc from Oblivion... ^^

Ugh. My brain is back into "What character do I want to play?" mode again. I just started making some significant progress too.

It doesn't matter what you play. The game is easy as hell anyway. Doesn't matter what difficulty.
Archers have it the best. Just climb up somewhere and stack up on arrows and you win everything. Will take a while but is easy from the get go. All points go to health.
Mages have it great, just get your enchanting up and make free spells. Put all points into health and voila! You have a perfect tank, battlemage. The trick here is that you don't have to climb somewhere as casting spells doesn't slow you down. Just run around shooting endless lighting/fireball.
Melees either have to get shield bash and a lot of stamina or elemental fury to really rock. The first one means losing out on health. Second one is not available to the start so if you wanna rock, it's got to be the shieldbasher. Just a litte weaker to spells in the beginning.
Oh yeah, 567 is the armour cap when you have four pieces of armour equipped. With shield it's somewhat lower. Anything beyond that has no effect.
Powergaming wise, alchemy+enchanting makes for a rather mean combo. You can enchant really good gear with that.
In the end the game didn't give my much joy after I had done almost everything with my first char, I didn't make another serious one.
More mods will correct it later.

Wow, that sounds like my type of complaint
I guess I'll skip it then. It sounds as bad as Witcher2's difficulty, which is non-existent even on Dark mode.

If you turn your difficulty to master once your already powered up then of course everything's easy.
Play it from the beggining where if you try to hack and slash you get impaled in a single strike, (and I'm not taling about bosses) but if you play smart you can do the same to them, it's all quite fun. Oh but if you turn it to master once you have max armor 100 in all important skills, then of course it's going to be easy .
But as Ad said the game will turn easy once you reach that level with the best armor and ****, but there's a difference whether you've sweat and bled to get there, or you casually strolled there.

Getting insta-gibbed isn't difficult, it's just annoying. Bad game design.
A well-designed difficult game does have an error margin, it's just progressively smaller for each difficulty setting.

High damage, low defense for both you and the enemy, that's what's fun, if you play smart of course, then you can kill them quickly, or you get impaled by a a 2h. Fighting dragons, if it even touches me I die, It's truly daunting, so i cringe behind rocks and get shots off at it when I get a chance, dragons also ignore you sometimes for a little while, during this time they rape the local country-side (fights bandits, et cetera).
Though I'd seriously love a hardcore mode.

Does anyone know Patch 1.6's notes? All I can find is random guesses on the internet; I can't play the game without knowing what was just added
Also in a moment of self realisation, by character has become a 'Sleeping Tree Sap' addict.
Edit: Here's another example of a strained situation, fighting a Dwemer sphere master, he charges you and one hits you, be you archer, mage or a heavy plated warrior (2 for warrior ^^) That is, if you get hit, this creature 'charges' you at high speed, now a little side stepping and you've survived one, now all you have to do is survive another two, five, ten!
(please don't dismiss this information lightly, I died two dozen times to find out, it's Darksouls all over again )

I still haven't "completed" Oblivion.
Checking the UESP there are still quests that I had missed and dungeons I left unexplored.
Too massive.
One thing I noticed after my eh... like... 267th character in Oblivion was that subconsciously I always tended to walk the same paths through the woods, take the same roads between the cities and so on...
Primary reason for me why some places just go undiscovered. You're released into this giant world where you can go anywhere you want... but the choices I make almost always turn up the same So much potential wasted.

I wish there was a Gallic race or something. I wanted my next character to be a cultured human but I don't feel like being English or Italian (waits for Adrius to pop in with a "Gaul race mod").
I'm playing a wizard/rogue with a hammer. Every new character I create becomes progressively more confusing. One of these days I'm going to wake up from a drunken stupor on the floor and I'll be playing a female orc wizard/harlot/werechair, just wandering around the wilderness naked and screaming to herself. Then I'll quit the game, start over as a blond-haired Nord with an axe and shield, and finally play through the main plot of Skyrim and beat the game. Probably what will happen. I call it.
Btw, dual wielding feels kind of ghey because there's no block mode with it. You just run around and power attack things to make a 3-prong attack. I'm probably going to just use one hammer and then have a spell on the ready. I'd need to invest in a lot of stamina if I want to dual wield anyway.
None of this means anything because I'll probably start over in 2 days.

I finally got the game and started a bit. It seems to me more of a speed problem. I recall I had the same problem in "Two Worlds" but once they made a mod increasing the mobs speed to x2 ours, it wasn't anymore possible to do this trick. And of course, they should be able to climb everywhere.

I played it on master from the start. You can go back to the earlier pages of this thread and you'll find my sneaky dual axe wielding character there.
That's the hardest kind of character to play. Dual wielding is massively underpowered(or just even with all the enemies) in the beginning because you need to melee and you don't have stun.
But two handed power sneak attacks kick ass.
BTW, if you're going sneak, pick a bow. When you kill someone with a bow from sneak, the others don't automatically notice you like they do if you use a melee weapon, which is a bullsnow. You can't go and take out guards silently because the moment you kill a guy with a melee sneak attack, all of the enemies in 30 mile radius have a GPS lock on you.
With a bow you can sneak right in the middle of them and shoot all of the enemies in the face one at a time. If your sneak is good enough, you can even shoot the same guy to death with 20 arrows while he is standing right next to you.

I don't abuse the complexion options. When I make a Redguard, I make a Samuel Jackson-type redguard not a friggin' Michael Jackon-type redguard.
@Joonas:
Yea I already noticed that with my bow character. You shoot people from a distance while sneaking and they all act retarded.
