The small holds make me mad because I can't have house there and call it my home base.

You can, simply kill the previous owner.

Yea but it just doesn't feel the same as buying the house. Makes it feel official.

Well, kill the jarl and display his corpse on your porch.

That ought to make it official

I'm a very lawful person when I play Skyrim Everybody loves me and I have zero bounties.

Except when I'm in a tavern brawl and I accidentally punch some barmaid ***** that was in the way. Then everybody is like "Herp derp!". I don't think I have any characters that haven't accidentally committed a crime. Like when I firebolted a chicken. Suddenly I have a bounty. wtf. Like, the chicken's brother apparently walked to the Jarl's house and told on me.

Rayek's End is the best home I've tried so far.

Hidden, secure, cozy, just the right amount of storage, beautiful water-based design, perfect lighting, lore-friendly.

It's just fricking awesome.

Likewise here. I got a bounty of 40 GP and I'm still not sure where it came from. The only thing I can think of is that the dead shop keeper from the Solitude Fletcher might be my fault, as I was hunting hawks that day. Not sure though.

Funny observation I've noticed - and I can't remember if it was this way in Oblivion or not - but absolutely every single drink in the game is alcoholic. When you raid people's food bins for those 0.1 weight, 3 value green apples and grab those loads of mead or wine, you can never find a single flask of juice or water Everybody in Skyrim is just perpetually dehydrated.

I hate how my character screams out in pain when I drink a beer. Negative effects ya know...

I remember The Todd talking about how alcohol was supposed to have effects on your vision and stuff, didn't turn out that way.

Will be a mod for it soon enough... I had one for Oblivion's alcohol. Not that hard to edit since the alcohols in the game are used for next to nothing, won't conflict with anything.

Just add a script to the alcohols that add a blur-shader to your vision, with increasing intensity the more you drink. If you drink too much, your character gets knocked down and automatically waits a few hours before waking up.

Pfft screw alcohol, it's sleepin' tree sap for me.

Also an FYI blizz, people in those times (in England anyhow) drank mostly ale (the common folk too) due to the accessible water supplies being 'contaminated'.

But this is like, Nordic territory man.

All those streams are sure to have pure water. I mean where I live I can just go outside and drink outta the damn lake if I want.

And you can just boil it if ya wanna be on the super-safe side.

Maybe I'm misinformed, but isn't it humanly impossible to just drink nothing but alcoholic drinks? You would die of dehydration. I guess unless you drank something with a really weak alcohol volume. These days ale is generally at least 8% or more though. Maybe they just drank a nasty watered-down version of it, and just had it a little alcoholic for the sake of disinfecting it. The 'S' in Serf stands for 'Sucks'.

Any river that has a sawmill installed in it would be a drinking hazard, but then again, people's standards are ridiculously more picky than what they used to be. A lot of people won't even drink raw milk because of the 0.000001% chance that you'll get something bad from it.

Duel: Combat Realism is an absolutely awesome mod.

The thing I like most about is so far is that excess damage that goes through your block is applied to your stamina instead of your health, so as long as you have stamina you won't be damaged by blocking. Awesome.

It also balances a lot of other things, like not being able to perma-stun someone by repeatedly bashing them. You can also stagger enemies by blocking the enemy's blow just before it hits.

Having really fun with it.

MODDING WITH ADRIUS EPISODE 978

You don't care? **** YOU I'M THE THANE OF WHITERUN. HERE COMES THE MODS.

Dragonplate HD
Spice it up!

Dual-Wield Parrying
Yup. Bind it to an entirely new hotkey or to one of your mouse buttons. The only drawback is that you can't bash when dual wielding, which is actually a very good balancing.

Hidden, secure and cozy player home. Has all the things you need without being overly cluttered. Very atmospheric.

Werewolf Upgrade
Now turning into a werewolf is less of a suicide.

Improved Dragon Shouts
Balances and improves.

Nordic Ambient Music
Very fitting music add-on. Boosts the atmosphere heavily.

Apocalypse Spell Package
What's that you say? 130+ new spells? With tactical combos and stuff?

Better Dynamic Snow
Snow that looks like snow. No it's not a poop overhaul.

The Dance of Death
Kill-move overhaul, with new kill-moves and added perk requirements for using them.

YY anim replacer - Zweihander
Wear your two-hander like a boss with this animation mod.

Skyrim Improved Menu
Looks fricking awesome. Less smoke, more falling snow!

EDIT:

Also, BEHOOOLD!

Frank Frazetta's Death Dealer armor in Skyrim.

Sexay.

Well, I just accidentally murdered yet another follower. Lightning bolt directly to the chest. Pretty sure I bulls-eyed the center of her heart.

I shot a lightning bolt at my housecarl's head the other night. She's dead too. I'm mildly annoyed with the selective realism of the game. The follower gets beaten to a pulp by an enemy and they just hunker down for awhile until they heal.

It was kind of cool the way I killed my follower though. The spriggin shifted into mist form immediately before I fired my lightning bolt, and my follower was running up from behind and got killed. Jet Li Spriggin knows what he's doing.
