The Elder Scrolls have always been a dull series to me. The exploration is quite fun, the world is colourful and interesting, agreed (especially in Morrowind), but everything else just lacks the things I'm looking for in a RPG. The NPCs are plastic and dull, the story-telling is artificial, the combat gets very repetitive not after long and the quests very often belong to the type I hate the most, namely "Go to the opposite end of the map and bring me that violet". If at least half of these are fixed in Skyrim I may give the Scrolls a second chance, the nice graphics alone are not enough for me and so far all trailers are advertising mainly (if not only) that.

Bethesda promised to post the system requirements today... they still haven't shown up. Pete Hines tweets about needing the green light to post them but not getting it... people are starting to get severely annoyed

No idea, likely not.
Maybe one at the beginning and one at the end of the main quest.

Hope they'll fix the stealth system, I want to become an assasin and actually have to sneak in order for people not to see me, I lol every time a guard is staring right at my face in Oblivion without being able to see me.

Pre-viewers have talked about the AI being quite impressive in terms of how they handle an assassin in their midst at least...
I remember reading about one guy firing an arrow into an enemy. His two friends got startled and then teamed up and methodically searched through the cavern.
Seems like the AI goes further than just...
*friend gets arrow in head*
"Who's there?"
*sheaths weapon*
"Rats, always sneaking around in the shadows, making me jumpy"
*goes on with his own business and leaves friend on floor*
EDIT:
Pete Hines:
Quote: Testing for PC specs is going to run into tomorrow. Sorry, I tried. Shouldn't have given a timeframe without being sure. Apologies.
Bah.
Well at least it seems they're doing things properly.

I remember doing the dark brotherhood quest when you break into the prison, and when the guards spot me, I close one door, they stop chasing, and then I can walk straight through the entire thing without anyone of them chasing me. Glad that won't happen in Skyrim.

Specs are out.
Quote from Pete Hines' twitter:
Quote: Min PC specs: Win XP/7/Vista (32 or 64 bit), dual core 2GB, 2GB RAM, DX9c video card w/ 512MB RAM, Internet Access for Steam activation
Recom PC specs: Win XP/7, quad-core Intel/AMD CPU, 4GB RAM, 6GB HD, DX compat snd card, DX9 vid card w/ 1 GB. GTX 260/Radeon 4890 or higher
This makes very little fricking sense.
The game doesn't even have a 64 Bit executable, which means the game CANNOT utilize more than 4 GB RAM... but the specs say I need 6 GB RAM for HD gameplay...? They want us to mod the game to be able to play effectively in HD?!
EDIT: Oh wait it's just Pete Hines that can't write for ****... he meant 6 GB HDD... meaning harddrive. That's the head of Bethesda's marketing division for ya.
EDIT2: I'd take that quad-core requirement with a dose of salt btw. The Witcher 2's graphics are far superior to Skyrim's and I breezed through that with my dual core.
All depends on how well Bethesda has optimized the game of course.

Hmm... I'm not really sure how much money I've spent on games this year. Whatever the amount, I'm positive it was more than enough.

@Darksy: Beats other DRMs out there.
You must've seen it coming with New Vegas and RAGE and many others using it.
Nice of you to post the list, looks the same but without typos this time. The 6GB HDD requirement is weird... shouldn't the game be a bit... bigger?
@Omega: Ah well, 2 months 'til new year anyway ^^
EDIT:
Hines replied to someone about the 6GB HDD size...
"only 6gb on hdd? hows that possible?"
"Uh, we're good? :-)"

Is that more than the minimum requirements? Or should I consider a new computer?
