Why would you even want to be naked in front of little girls anyway? I never thought this about you. For shame!

@Gnu: What? Melee reigns supreme against magic and bows ^^
There's actually a bit of tactics in melee now as well, it's quite enjoyable imo.
Well as long as you're not dual-wielding weapons at least, that's just a hack-and-slash-fest where the one with the highest Health and highest DPS wins.
Btw, ORCS FRICKING RULE. Berserker Rage... double damage output and half damage taken for 60 seconds?! YES THANK YOU.
Even get this red filter on the screen when you do it... Adrius approves.

It really depends on what level of abusing the system we're talking about here ^^
As a mage in Skyrim you could simply enchant several pieces of apparel to reduce your Destruction (or whatever magicka school you want) magicka cost by 100%, meaning that magicka simply doesn't matter anymore. That lets you pretty much own anything; just spam staggering fireballs, nothing can beat you.
Melee characters can abuse the game even further by combining alchemy, enchanting and smithing to create weapons that one-shot anything in the game though, so in terms of abusement they own the field.
Now abusing ****ed up balance aside, in my opinion, magic is inferior to melee because it requires Magicka. Melee power attacks require stamina sure, but you can still do normal attacks. Without magicka you can do nothing as a mage.

Well what do ya know, I got bored.
I have mod-fever. I spend more time thinking of the potential of the game than actually playing it. I can't play this game until we have real mods running...! GIVE ME MY RANGER OUTFIT ALREADY.
We'll apparently have to wait another week for the first patch as well. No one knows when the Creation Kit will be released either, possibly sometime in December.

Ad, you are so inconsistent!
Then again, disputing about magic v melee is in vain. Counting the balance issues aside, it is easy to see that melee is better against most mobs but magic is better against some of the toughest of the lot. If you are not abusing smithing and enchanting, magic will allow you to reduce the reload times because you will not take on a friggin' mammoth, not to mention a giant in /melee/. Plus, sabre cats, bears still make easy toast of you in melee with their quickness unless you put all perks in heavy armor and up your health (again, if you abuse, it does not count). Then again, one-handed and archery levels up way faster than magic skills in later stages (unless you are using basic spells anyway, then they might even out, but in a standard build, you choose a fire aura + dual cast fireballs over melee or marksmanship any time).
I am glad that skills like smithing and alchemy do not impact a mage's levelling up so much. Enchanting's a b**** but I can still level it up quite steadily... the game just makes me a sad panda that I have to enchant meself a new item pretty much every time I go to a cave (oohh! nice leather armor of restoration! oooh, elven armor, need to enchant it! look a new helmet, etc.) so it levels up pretty fast.
I still have an hour before I go to sleep so I'd rather put it to work! Need to scout the area around Ivarstead now (gorgeous area, though it saddened me to see how inferior trolls are compared to simple falmer or bears)

Oh yeah I change my mind all the time haha.
All of those problems with melee you mentioned are easily countered by focusing on Block ya know
Heavy Armor and Health is not needed. What you do is level Block and invest in stamina. Then you shield-bash stagger everything all the time without running out of stamina. Your shield bash will do impressive damage by itself, so what you have is basically a warrior that dual wields two weapons and staggers with 50% of his strikes.
Some people have more problems with trolls than with dragons actually ^^. They have very impressive health regen, but anyone who knows basic troll-hunting lore knows what the remedy for that is

Problems with giants or mammoths in melee? LOL
L2P noobs
Yeah, dragons are ridiculously easy, only that their breath one hits if you fail to shield yourself from it. Yes, ancient dragon ice storm breath one hits nords with 400 HP and frost resist potions. But when dragons die in 3 seconds in melee it's a laugh.
Problems with trolls? Can't say I've had that. They die too fast for the regen to take effect. I think it's the master difficulty. Their health is already too high for the regen to be of signifigance.
I'm at 55 light armor and all perks so far give me 600 armor rating with shield and 500 without it. I don't have any enchanting nor do I have any enchantments. Smithed my own dragon scale armor. Weapons are dual glass waraxes with damage of 120 combined. Bow with arrows is 70 plus any poison I use. Health is 400ish and stamina 150. No mana taken. I own everything on master difficulty but I still tend to die rather fast if caught off balance due to my high sneak and lockpicking which has raised my levels to 35.
If given the first shot frost mages own me due to the freeze effect (and I'm a nord!) and if they have bodyguards all destro mages kill me in 2 seconds. Unless I sneak upon them and kill them first. Which I usually do.
My worst enemies are bosses with ridiculous amounts of health though. Some bosses take 500+ hits to kill and it's ridiculous. Two/three power attacks with dual weapons usually kill most regulars but some of the non-story bosses are insane. Bandit Lleader with 50k health? Yay!
Friend plays Altmer Destro/Conjur mage and he is pretty much the killing machine. Dual staggering fireballs + astronauchs = ownage. Enemy bosses one shot him but aside from lightning mages not much of an issue since casting spells doesn't slow one down.
Magicka regens faster than duel fireballs or conjurations spend at level 20 with some arties. As an Altmer I think he has 400 magic with his arties now. Just sick.

The end game stuff for the guild is leveled so be sure to be at least level 36 before you do the quests, otherwise you'll end up with much weaker equipment than you could have.
Some of the stuff even level as far as 50, so if you wanna max things out you shouldn't finish the quests until you're... well... level 50.
Or you could just say eff that **** and do the quests anyway and player.additem the ultimate gear later.
