Sure. In a town with such theme.
They just don't fit the overall steampunk theme of Forge town.
Otherwise, it's like replacing Behemoths with Hulks or Ultralisks.

i'm not related to the VCMI team, no. i don't even think they're related to each other.
i take offense to you saying that i talk mindlessly about my work, guy. that's disrespectful. as for infiltrating threads, i try to post in the appropriate thread, and if not, at the appropriate time, considering the subject matter; which is why i asked about that very thing earlier in THIS thread, if you had bothered to read it. the way you put it, i'm spamming like herry or husham. and that's disrepectful too, because i am serious when it comes to my work(at least, as serious as one can be about wasting real-life time playing with existing or new graphics for a game that came out in the 90's ).
TL;DR: check yo'self befo you wreck yo'self, foo.

To be honest, I was just asking to clarify some things which confused me about you since I see you in every thread going off-topic with your "I am making project like you, ignoring your work, but soon you can see MINE".
You statements made it unclear for me if you are participating in said threads or not. I don't know who is herry or whoever you are talking about.
Ok, you explained youself, no need to get sensitive, I didnt mean anything hostile by my reply.
In conclusion now, ironicaly, I am doing off-topic replies which I am not proud off.
Sorry for that, carry on.

The Forge is not even steampunk. It's more a "mad scientist" theme.
How about you go and make your own town and share you artistic vision with us?

you act like i've ever been purposely disrespectful. the VCMI team knows how much i respect both them and their work, as well as anyone else who works for free, benefitting the community, and putting forth maximum effort here to produce a quality product. you are the one being rude here, guy, with your assumptions.
people are going to get upset with you, when you're rude. that's not sensitivity, that's a common reaction to rudeness. that you don't see that because of your reckless attitude, is going to cause people to be more "sensitive" to you. you want to change that, you should put some effort forth into how you come across to others.
because you did not properly assimilate what i said before, i'll reiterate: i post where i think is fit for what i have to post(and again, i ASKED the VCMI team if they had an issue with me posting here), because i wasn't sure myself after i noticed the thread title change. the only disrespect here is coming from you. if you have a personal issue with me, take it up with the mods. that's one of the reasons they're there.

I mean steampunk in the sense that they got their hands on a technology ahead of them, and we're seeing these "retro" creatures equipped with some kind of "high"-tech weaponary (chainsaws arms, tanks etc all that WW1/2 tech is quite steampunk to me). It's obviously not textbook steampunk, but you see what I mean.
They're not definitely not mad scientists, because they're not scientists in the first place. No Hulk, no Spock, no Peter Parker, no mutants. Actually, was there ever a mutant (in the Marvel-verse sense) in MM world? You know, creatures who got super-strong because they were radiated or ate acid?
And in any case, there were no mutants whatsoever at all in the original Forge.
And no, unlike what you're trying to imply passive-aggressively, people can point things out about fan-made stuff or anything without making fanart themselves. It's called the First Amendment here.

first of all, i feel that some things must be clarified in order to avoid off-topic posts and disrespectful words. i shall begin with the origins of the Heavenly Forge, by telling you that it's an ANTIQUE artefact. Yes, ANTIQUE! it predates any of the current factions: humans, elves, wizards, barbarians etc. It's the weapon of the Ancients, a very modernized race that traveled through space and seeded planets with races (dwarves, elves, humans) to make experiments. Their enemies were the Kreegans (Inferno, aliens) that followed them on Enroth too. Following their departure, the Kreegans attacked this planet and with each generation of the (now) indigenous races on Enroth, the Heavenly Forge became ruin, then legend, then myth. Years and years later, around the events of HoMM 3, a hand of people sought to revive this ANTIQUE artefact, in order to obtain power over all. A little bit after, a cataclysmic event happened and everything moved on to a new world, called Axeoth. And that's where the lore of HoMM 3 dies. It's official story is over. Even if we would talk about heirs, successors or legacies, HoMM story was restarted again with the release of HoMM V.
Now, we have a term for what people are doing here on HC, called "fan fiction" (for those who dont know, i dont want to point any fingers). People who feel that the HoMM story (on Enroth) is not over, wether if POST-armageddon or PRE-armageddon. And they can do whatever they want and post wherever they want as long as they dont break the rules of HC. And they dont!
Secondly, let's take a look at the definition of the word "mutant" in english! (the definition of "mutant" in my language would have been an even better argument)
Quote: adjective
1.
undergoing or resulting from mutation.
noun
2.
a new type of organism produced as the result of mutation.
now, let's see mutation:
Quote: noun
1.
Biology.
a sudden departure from the parent type in one or more heritable characteristics, caused by a change in a gene or a chromosome.
an individual, species, or the like, resulting from such a departure.
2.
the act or process of changing.
3.
a change or alteration, as in form or nature.
the way i see it, most of HoMM 3 creatures are mutants, especially the undeads and the best example would be the Vampires, whose not only genes were mutated through necromancy (magic), but he MUTATES into a bat.
so to HoMM universe, it makes PERFECT SENSE that magic, combined with Ancient-Modernistic technology and its waste (ofc, toxic waste) would alter the genes of already existing creatures of Enroth.
my only pain is the lack of naga tank in the Forge line-up , that was iconic.

Also for nature counts: success is the most importan factor in evolution. A species that is too dumb to replicate dies, same counts for creatures that are too dumb to find something to eat or aren't able to adapt for environmental changes. For zombies -> no survival. (so much for zombie-apocalypse) Thats the problem with any argumentations in case of fantasy units... fantasy hasn't to do anything with the real world.
Other example when I watch StarTrek or StarWars as physicist... well... thats a horrible bunch of bullsnow presented as working facts and theories there. (called Sci-Fi) But at least it's fun to watch...

You're just making that up though.
HoMM universe is a fictional universe, and the writers decide what is what. It doesn't have to fit the reality, your favorite childhood cartoon or something that makes "perfect sense" to you. Fiction doesn't have to make sense.
If you want something that makes "PERFECT SENSE" with caps, here's the harsh reality: mutations almost always result in cancer and death. That's why you only see dead animals rather than brain suckers around the toxic factory dumps. And that's why you don't see people running into radiation or toxic waste in the hopes of getting super powerful --rather it is fatally dangerous and people avoid it. You're confusing Marvel's crackpot science with actual science.
No MM game mentions vampires mutating into bats or whatever you think is plausible. And while it may be hard to accept for you, MM writers don't have to think like Marvel writers.
MM has its own style, and "mutation through toxic waste" or "superpowers through radiation" just isn't a part of it. And we all know that it wasn't a part of the real Forge town either.
And personally, I loved Naga tank and I wished seeing her bare bad ass juggs bouncing around.

mutations almost always result in cancer and death...yes! true! but that's only because we lack magic (unlike Enroth people)...and not only death. you re viewing mutation through a glass half empty, the bad side of it. Mutation is part of nature, part of evolution. We are mutants! Thus, it's not only about death, but also, the result is much stronger/adapted to it's habitat.
Now, back to our homm lore. Nobody compared homm universe to the marvel universe. you re the only one talking about Marvel, i hadnt even thought about Marvel since the last Marvel movie i saw(and i hadnt seen Antman!). Im just saying that with the right combination (magic, toxic waste and Heavenly Forge artefact), it might result in the current polish forge line-up. And who's to say that, really?! You've said it yourself: the developers! And who are the developers? Atm, the polish team! Because 3d0&NWC are dead. The community is the developer.

it seems to me that you re either troll or ignorant. The vampire lord mutates into a bat in game when you make him move. Like WTF!

OK, answer this: where the heck did you get the idea of mutating vampires?
A) In-game text from a MM game.
B) Pull it out of my ass.
Please tell me your answer is A with a source.

So yeah, Vampire mutates (changes, see point 2 of definition) into bat.

If you're trying to imply that no genetic manipulation and experiments have taken place in the MM lore, do not do that, please. And look at the hero rooster of Polish Forge, check out Agar's background, make proper conclusions and stop continuing pointless arguments.
