for an instant, rob saw Melony's shadow grow until it connected with Rob's foot. He felt something... enter his body. Another mind sharing his body. Something that he could readily detect as an energy signature popped up in the back of his head with a mumbled, -Why do we even need Jack Kane...- and then the shadow bolted out of his body and into Melony's, taking his breath as it left.
"There, that should be enough for you to trace." Melony said, gesturing to catch up again and walking away "Come lead on, Rob. Don't leave a lady waiting."

"I'm the enemy, remember?" Melony reminded him, "They were more likely to shoot me on sight than talk. Which way?" She asked, walking briskly but not too quickly. Fortunately, Rob did not seem to be able to see her exhaustion. Melony was almost to the point of just finding a bench in the mall or some apartment and taking a nap... But she was able to keep face for now. And for some reason, she never seemed to get cold... so the warmth that she gave off and her colorless cheeks added to the illusion.
hopefully they found Kane before that illusion faded away... if it did, though, Miasma could handle almost any situation that arose. With the power it had drained and the power it was draining... wait. Miasma, stop that. We need Rob to lead us.
-Grr, fine. Have it your way then.- It stopped draining from Rob's enhanced vision and sulked. -Don't know why you want to find Kane again... what possible use...- Melony tuned out the rest of the grumbling.

Melony stopped her march. "Wait... they still have operating cabs here? Bonus. Yes, call us a cab when we get to a busy street... in other words," Melony turned down the next alley on the left, "through here. There is a large, quickly moving collection of people this way... guessing that it's more likely that we'll find a cab there." Though Rob couldn't see it, Melony gave him a small grin. Cute, in his own innocent, Bambie way. Didn't have to suggest a cab... a place to sit... ugg, so tired... Melony stumbled once, but caught herself on the wall of the alley. "Yes, let's get a taxi." The smile was gone.

Rob noticed her stumble and looked at her for a second. He then realized that she was very tired, but very powerful. As they got to the main street, he called up a cab instantly. Taxi drivers in the city these days have a very tough and very well respected job these days. The few that operate change exorbitant prices, but Rob had plenty given to him by the Secret Fire. He told the cab driver where to go through the passenger seat window, then opened the door for Melony to get in saying, "After you."

Lena stood up and glared at Archon angrily. she fixed her optics and dialed a command aa Dog's controller.
the robotic hound moved fastly, slaughtering the soldiers who were shooting at her and Vlad moments earlier.
A booming soundwave shattered anything made of glass in the area, and the remaining few soldiers dropped dead. Dog's mouth implanted sonic weaponry was much more powerfull than the handheld version.
Vlad looked at the two supers locked in combat and then calmly said to Archon:
- I don't side with capitalist swines sellout. you damned americans never change. Remember it pup, I was once a national hero. I even managed to recover most of my awards and medals. I know what happens to those who work for the goverment. they'll discard you as a piece of trash when they done using you. You idiots can't pardon the one who's already dead. Travel to the Red Square in Moscow, you'll see my name written in golden letters on the mausoleum dedicated "to Those fallen for the moterland" along with those other 249 unfortunate ones who served the Union. as The Legion. In other words, I'm declared KIA more than around 30 years ago- His tone of voice changed.- Interfere or threaten as again american dog, and you shall meet fate along with all those others I slew. Hell will come for you. Maybe even today.- Vlad aimed at Archon, with his grav gauntlet and tore him away from Inferno.
- Sonic Blaster, second salvo! Now Lena!- Vlad shouted, as the girl gave command for Dog to fire. the power of the blast was concentrated on Archon. it would have stunned him, or maybe even heavily injured, Vlad didn't know. he needed a fast getaway.
- Tormi, We need a beam out now!- He said to his radio- three biologic lifeforms, one mechanical. Inferno, grab my arm fast mattvaju! We need to talk in a safe place now!

Inferno nodded and complied, grabbing Archon's hand. Archon, was injured, but he raised himself from the snow a minute later, his wounds slowly healing themselves. He cursed and threw himself at the ground in anger as Inferno, Vlad, Lena, and the mechanical hound disappeared.

The teleportation was sudden, and now the trio found themselves in the teleportation chambet of an underwater Evolon facility.((Evolon appear similiar to Protoss, but have gills in their necks)) The Evolon technician present there saluted them. another, more slim and wearing blueish silver armor and robes awaited them. her eyes glew bright blue as she looked upon them
- Prototype 001 was taken to the maintenance area. repairs are required after the encounter with the super No 5487, Archon.- the technician said to Lena. his voice was rather deep, with a sound of echoing to it.
- See what you can do.- she replied.- Check for nanite damage and add countermeasures to them.- The technician nodded and left the area
- Dobro pazalovat to our new headquarters.- Said Vlad to Inferno, as the female evolon walked towards them.
- Salutations, Super No 0254, Inferno.- She said and raised her hand- I am Hla'ana Thormidh'al and I oversee the operations in this human metropolis. You're welcome to stay here as long as you please. Vladimir, Lena, the medical personell will restore any damage caused by the nanites.
- This is good to hear Tormi. the fresh improvements saved our lives, though the immunity system still hasn't managed to go into full power.- Said Vlad.- We'll be in my office if you'll want to join our discussion.
- Very well. Fresh food will be served shortly.- She said and left. Vlad and Lena followed her, along with Inferno. They reached Vlad's office soon enough. it was decorated as the previous one, execpt this time there was a frame with around 45 various awards and medals from the Soviet Union.
- I keep it as a reminder of what you really mean to the goverment. Now Franklin- He addressed Inferno by his first name.- Tell me everything. because every time I meet you I end up in a heap of trouble.

Inferno raised his hand and replied, "It's not Franklin anymore. Got a name change right before I joined the Secret Fire. It kept me under the gov's radar for a while, but Jon stuck. I like the name better anyhow."
Jonathan sat down on a chair and then continued, "You should know the general gist of it. Government wants to suppress and internalize freaks likes us. We want to kick them out of the city, and keep it as our own. A safe haven for people like us. Rex is doing something with his machinations, and I have no idea what the hell Xion is up to. Kane is now a recluse, but we've heard rumors of him going out every now and then and cleaning up some small gangs or something similar. Not as often or as deep a cleaning as you do, but the fact that he cares means that he hasn't quite given up yet. As for Archon, that @ss we ran into today, well, I guess he sold himself to the government. Probably an arm of the government, not serving the interests of the actual country itself. International specialists are hopping around the city, trying to research us and stuff. The Secret Fire isn't really too disturbed about it right now, as most of what they do is ask questions, then leave. But they recently took in one of our own. Minion. You've heard of him. He was found out in the middle of a street unconscious. No bullet wounds it seemed though. Was the work of a freelancer or just some really strong super that isn't with us. Most supers, in need a better term, either support or are in the Secret Fire. But Melony, that shadow girl, she seems to not want to stick with us. I find it hard to believe she'd hang with the government though, so I'm thinking she'll probably try to be with Kane. In the meantime, I've found something that could lead me to the Catalyst. I had almost forgotten about it until Melony brought Lisa with her to NC. So I took the key, and all I have to do is unlock the door."

Rob nodded and got in after Melony. He gave directions out to the less than chatty cab driver, then said to Melony, "So, what's your thing with Kane? I don't really want to intrude or anything, but he's not exactly the most sociable of people around town."

Kane walked by the street, his face hidden in the shadows. The night was cloudy and the streetlights were mostly ruined. For some it was a sign to keep away, a sign warning that the predators of the city waited to ambush you and probably kill you. For Kane it was work. He had just finished taking down a few robbers, their bodies hidden in dumpsters in a back alley just behind him. Their blood already starting to grow dark on his hands. His work this night was finished, yet another bloody warning to the criminals that if they decided to keep the streets unsafe, he would make the streets unsafe for them.

- Interesting.- said Vlad.- Tell me more about this Secret Fire organisation you spoke of. I heard rumors of it, but I don't really get the full picture of it. Yes, I heard the Kane is still on the roll, but he's slippery like an eel and Tormi with her personell has a hard time keeping track on him. As you heard, the Evolon are also keeping an eye on us supers. Each is archived for his or her strenghts and weaknesses and is given a number. I'm Super No 0024 and Lena is Super No 0025. right now we have about eight thousand from all over the world, and the number grows daily.
An evolon medic entered the office with two pearl white devices on a plate. he carefully strapped each onto Vlad's and Lena's right arms, started the healing sequence, adjusted the doses of medicines. Then he bowed slightly and quietly left.
- A new improved version of their healing machines.- Vlad explained.- Before these handy things were developed we had to do our healing enclosed within a pod with the liquids. these treatments are exclusive to us and the Evolon warriors. Over few hours, it'll restore all the damage done by the goons of Archon. So, where was I? Ah, The current situation. As you may heard on the streets or saw on the media, I often engaged the forces of Rex. Can't say we've done much, but his operations are slowed from time to time. Xion remains silent, but I can assure you, that he's up to something big. The weaopns that Archon used against us, I believe they were created by using xion's own designs , those from before he went rogue.
- What about other alien technology?- Lena asked. she was without her optics and was grooming her pet sable. the critter climbed onto her shoulder and started to look around.
- My pirate parrot and sable mix- She smiled.
- funny critter isn't it?- Vlad asked Inferno. he then proceeded to answer Lena's question- We would know about it. after their crash landing Evolon keep tight surveilance on the other extraterrestrials and their contacts to Earth. It's highly unlikely that the goverment uses alien tech. the last full contact with the US goverment was in the 47, the crash in Roswell. the latest stealth jets are the product of reverse engineering that spacecraft. there were no know weapons on that vessel.
The door opened again and a servant drone, a sphercial shaped machine with six arms entered bearing three plates with freshly cooked food.
- freshly fried cod with vegetables- The drone said, putted down the food and departed.
- The Evolon use these drones for simple menial tasks such as carrying- vlad explain.- now, as I said I want to know everything about the Secret Fire, and perhaps to organise a meeting with your leader.- He said, opened a bottle of "Russkoje Standart" and poured three whiskey glasses half full.

Inferno smiled and replied, "Well you're in luck, because you are talking to one of them. The other is Felix. A rather quiet and ponderous leader. He has good ideas, but he can never put them into action. Only I could rouse the supers up and make the Secret Fire as powerful as it is. I can't really tell you much more than that I turned Felix's little club into a organization to be respected and feared in NC. The government wouldn't dare attack us directly. We have too much support from other supers across the world, and a counterattack by us would devastate them. Especially after tonight. Now, I know you like to not really pick sides and all, but we could use you. Now we can't offer what Archon was offering. But, we won't kill you if you refuse. We just ask that you keep it between us."

You saw my tattoo.((a bear killing a bald eagle if you forgot)) besides, I'm dead for more than four decades, and my supposelly 'badly burnt' remains are buried in Red Square at Moscow.

- Allright, this is what I'll tell you. I won't OPENLY participate in the activity of Secret Fire. for those who need I can provide armor and weapons. Even weapon training. I will bypass my principle of staying neutral. I wasn't able to heed it in the past few years anyhow. first chasing you and Sidewinder, then this dealings with The Doctor, taking out Zero, later Ouroboros affair and up to now it's Rex. I think you know this, that the media elevated the Red Devil from a 'terrorist' to a 'hero'. I couldn't care less. seeing as it's growing into an open conflict I won't lay my arms down. Tormi has the database and tech. Me and Lena are the muscle. Evolon are reliable, don't worry. With the russian services who found the 'lost' files on Project LEGION their own survival is at stake here. this here is only a small fortification. Baikal is where the remainder of their race lives. though I cant promise that their troops will participate in direct combat if such situation arises, however their tech is at our disposal. I think you saw my improved "Fiend" armor in action. you know their weapons are posing a huge threat. Dog or Prototype 001 is just an example of their weaponry. Remember, the Red Devil and The Black Sable has to keep their image of neutrality. We will aid you in any way we can. just leave a way to contact you. And also, I'd like to meet with Felix as soon as possible.- He finished and refilled the glasses.

Right now I have a guest there I need to attend to, but no one will bother us there. People are still scared of the memory of Zero for some reason. Plus I installed some security measures. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done." replied Inferno. "If you want to speak to Felix, then I'll have to take you to him myself. He moves from place to place often and is never in the same base twice. Sometimes he won't even tell me, but I still find him. I have a guy that can find anyone very easily."

- See what you can do then.- Vlad emptied his glass- We'll be dropping by you place within a few days. take this- Vlad handed a disc shaped device to Inferno. It was made of the smae silverish material that the other devices were made of. it had a indigo button in the middle.
- This is a sort of a holographic cell phone that Evolon use. All the required contacts are written in. You'll learn to use it instantly, just think of it as a very advanced smartphone. the push of a button brings up the menu, and there's a cakewalk from there. I want to keep a way of normal communication, I don't like you popping out of your smoke clouds in this place as you please.when you need to contact me just use this. I'd like to see Felix tomorrow if it's possible. I'd like to discuss my partn in your organisation with both of you.
