It had cost one of the robots to take Rob. The shards of scrap metal fell to the ground as Miasma ripped out the central processor and left Melony's body. Somehow, it was remembering how its abilities worked... Miasma remembered that it could generate some kind of energy vacuum. Gas does not travel through vacuums. Creating a barrier between Melony, Kane and the gas, Miasma told the two supers, "I will hold whoever our pursuer is here. Kane, get Melony out of here. If I can find you, then I will come back with Rob. Go!"

Kane struggled to his feet after the blast just as the gas started leaking. He felt his senses weaken and everything got kind of blurry. He could just barely make out Melony as she fell to the ground and made his way over to her, almost stumbling into a crate. Kane lifted her up in his arms and cradled her, making sure to support her head. He saw a door and headed for it, , making sure to breath as little as possible of the gas to preserve his strength. He got out of the door where the air was fresher and took a deep breath, feeling his light-headedness go slowly away. Whoever followed them clearly did not want a confrontation where Kane could get his hands on him and therefor decided on using gas and long distance weapons to take them out.
It's probably the sniper, the same person I saw earlier taking out Archon. Kane thought. That makes this much more dangerous
He heaved Melony over one shoulder and made his way slowly through the warehouse, getting as far away from the gas as possible. He cast his senses out to catch the signature of any moving objects or people.

Miasma went in the direction from where the shots were coming. The gas leaked through its insubstantial form, and it was glad that it couldn't not effect something that couldn't breathe... chlorine gas was rather harmful to beings that had lungs.
Gliding out of the warehouse, Miasma looked around. "Come out, come out wherever you are! It's just you and me now."
Melony drifted from unconsciousness to sleep.
"Now the creature known as Miasma can manipulate energy by creating energy tunnels, all of the equalizers can. They drain energy from one point into themselves and their hosts."
"So what stops them from taking all the energy?" Melony asked the scientist.
"Well, we've pre-programmed the energy levels of all known living things into the creatures, and the energy of, say, dirt as well, so the hosts that control them like yourself don't become too powerful and ambitious."
"So..." Melony made a cute, confused face, "What stops a human that develops these... powers?"
"Er... well, the transfer isn't 100% effective, more like 20%, and too much energy overloads the transit line... So I guess that their own body's capabilities do the job since they would have to spend more energy than they gained... why are you asking these questions girl? Shouldn't you be asleep?" The skinny scientist cast a cautious eye over the little girl.
"Oh, just curious. Oh, why's the sky blue?" G9 smiled inside of its host. The other two were dormant right now... So the girl had no limits? Hmph, the weakling that G9 had been paired with was not anywhere near strong or ambitious enough to allow her to have that power. G9 started checking itself for the code they had placed... and Melony remembered how it reprogrammed itself. She remembered how to drain the energy from the earth as well.

Cyrus walked out of the hidden vantage point in the warehouse to a balcony outside. From there he could see Kane with Melony in his arms. Cyrus aimed the rifle at the back of Kane's head, but then paused as he felt something.
"A shadow? No. More than that." thought Cyrus. "Taking the shot at this point would reveal my position."
He looked out at the street below him. A car was driving through it near Kane.
"Such a wasted opportunity. Incendiary shot to the fuel tank would make it look like an accident."
Cyrus went back inside and dropped down to the ground level in front of Miasma, with a concealed hand behind his back holding something.
"Evening." Cyrus said.

Miasma jumped back five feet to keep out of striking distance and hovered there. It looked at Cyrus "You? Wait... I recognize you... You're that thing that was sent to kill Melony, aren't you? That's why I can't detect you! With your powers drained and your masters dead, you are just a normal human." The energy signature though... "But that... whatever it is behind you back most definitely isn't, is it?" Miasma braced itself, "What weapon are you hiding?"

A drone lead the way to the sub for Inferno. the pilot had awaited him near the aparatus, and soon enough Inferno found himself on the dockside of NC.
While patrolling Lena heard some gunshots, but didn't check it out. She was more concerned about the Evolon instalation, which turned out to be working witout any interruptions. then she heard an explosion. aomething had gone out with a bang. A huge one. Lena strode through that direction looking for survivors. She and Dog entered one of the warehouses and sniffed the air. knock out gas. extremely potent. with her enhancements she could take it, but didn't knew if there were any others nearby. Lena walked slowly, aiming her gun at potential threats. then her optics picked up something. two people moving. she ordered dog to block their path. When the automaton followed the command, she started running at them. When being nearby, she saw the duo and remembered them seeing about a year ago. Her father's friend Jack Kane and a girl named Melony.
- Sto ta chuinia?- she asked.- What's happened here?

Kane ignored her question. "Do you have any kind of transport to get us out of here?" he asked. "We're hunted by someone, I don't know who, and I don't know how long Miasma will be able to hold him back. He has taken down supers before so I wouldn't count on him being stopped for long. Send your machine back to aid against the man and help me get Melony out of here!"

- We don't have much time. I can't take down the sniper right now- Lena said. - Grab my arm, both of you- she said.
- I'm heading back to base- Said Lena- there are two supers with me.
- roger that, three biological lifeforms, one maechanical jump after three.. two... one...
Seconds later, the group found themselves in the Evolon facility.
- Call the medics, they may need treatment- Lena said to the Evolon technician- and Tell Tormi we'll finally add Jack Kane to our list.
- Do not worry. it's just an archive of all supers. Dad will be happy to see you Kane.- Lena said.
((That's it from me for today, my colleagues need help at the bar as again I'm the only one who's fluent english in the brigade :/ ))

Kane looked straight forward, sensing dozen of people and tons of technology all around. "I won't be added to no list." Kane growled. "And Vlad would know as much."
He didn't sense the man nearby right now, someone else would have had to teleport him there. "So now we have teleportation technology. Fantastic." he muttered.

Melony's eyes opened when the teleportation ended. WhenLena left, Melony whispered to Kane, "We are so very far away from what I was planning... Kane, I don't know if we can get out of here without their permission. I... I can feel them moving. There are too many for us alone."

"Don't worry, this place is safer than what you planned. Maybe not my first choice, but it's safer anyway." Kane whispered. "Vlad can be trusted, believe me. He and his people just acts without thinking very often. If we want to leave they will not stop us. For now I think it might be best to stay put though, until this is at least sort of figured out and they've checked you for any damage from the gas."

"I'm fine, I think that you got me far enough away that I didn't inhale the gas, and then Miasma made that barrier... Miasma stayed behind again. Damn!" Melony began pacing nervously. "Well... damn! Can't do anything about that, again! Something I can do, something... Aha!" Peeking her head out, she asked the nearest person, "Excuse me, but do you think I could use a phone?"

((OOC: I'm going on a limb here, but I'll expect Berny to speak up if I do something wrong))
When Rob woke up, he notice that he was numb from the waist down. He tried to move in his bonds, but managed very little.
"Don't move." A female voice said gently, but with an unmistakable firm undertone. "I might nick something of you start struggling."
Rob looked down the surgery table to see a female doctor operating on his shot knee. He tried to speak, but before he managed the doctor started talking.
"Do not strain yourself, you're hurt badly. If you want me to repair your knee propperly, you'd best do as little as possible."
Rob lay his head down again and just looked around the room. The room had no windows, just a shut door. It was tiled roof to floor, with lamps hanging at regular intervals. The female doctor was sitting on a stool, an android passed her the equipment she required from a trolley set somewhat away from the surgery table. In the corner, just within Rob's periferal vision there stood a second android holding a large assault-rifle.
"It's a good thing you were drugged," the doctor said again. "the tranquiliser and your unconcious state stemmed the bloodflow somewhat, but you still lost a lot of it. Clamp. Some of your type is being fetched as we speak. It's also a good thing you weren't shot by Rex or one of the droids. They would not have sufficed with just one knee, and the shots wouldn't have been so....sloppy. I said don't move." Rob had tried to look at the doctor once more. "I'll need to put a pin in your lower-femur and you'll need a kneebrace for at least six weeks, but this will heal. Just don't strain yourself too much. And no running or acrobatics while your in the brace, you might damage your knee again. Plyers. There's the culprit, well part of it at least."
"How much longer?" A raspy metallic voice came from nowhere in particular.
"I'd said about 30 minutes." The doctor replied. "Then he needs to rest a bit. You can talk to him soon enough, Rex."
"Verry well. The blood will be delivered to you in 7 minutes. The IV should be there in 2."
"Hear that Rob," the doctor said, "You're gonna be just fine."

((Hey lookie here O.O I did manage to squease in a post before returning to Germany. London sucks.))
- Do you require aid Super No. 2158, Melony?- Asked an Evolon Medic who arrived nearly instantly after the teleportation. Without receiving an answer he started a quick scan of Melony's body and then prepared the medicine in the same device that Lena and Vlad used for treating their injuries.
- Nerve gas damage.- The medic mumbled- The treatment will be over in three ours. do not tamper with the device.- He slightly bowed and left.
Informed on Kane's arrival Vlad went to greet him. He was wearing his fresh house clothing. within the recent year he excanged his typical army attire into something more civilian. Jeans and lumberjack shirt suited him pretty well. The healing aparatus was still on his hand. Vlad was holding a data slate as he walked towards the teleportation chamber.
- Dobroje vecher super No. 8867 Jack Kane and miss Melony.- He smiled with his typical fatherly smile.- You've done a pretty damn well job evading our surveilance systems, But now you've been added to our list. I'm Super No. 0024 by the way, and no, you cannot be dropped off it. Only I, Lena and the Evolon know about it's existance. I also mentined it to the walking zippo((hence Inferno)) who was here about half an hour ago.- His face turned more serious.- I see I'm not the only one who's caught some trouble.- He looked at the healing device on Melony's arm.
- Well, let's go to my office. If You like to stay here for a while I can show you where to sleep later. I've heard you've been doing some cleaning of your own comrade, but I'd like to hear it from you personally. I don't believe in rumors and newspapers.

Kane smiled a tight smile. "I've simply done mine to keep the criminals afraid and on their toes, nothing to talk about. I would have preferred staying away from your surveillance even longer, I do not really care for being rounded up and registered with a number. What is it your operation here is aiming to do?"

I'm along with Lena are cleaning up the town. The Evolon are manufacturing our weapons and helping wherever they can. we also aid them back in the Motherland. You haven't been contacted by our flaming friend or anyone else from his clique, have you?

- I can assure you, they will try to get to you. it's the girl they need. I'm not sure why, but melony and that shadow thing are sought by Inferno. I'll get to the bottom of this.

- Yes?
- I believe we found those who interfeered with the evolon operations.- She handed him a data slate.
- We need to visit Vova- Vlad said.
- Who's this Vova?- Lena was a bit confused.
- Vova? Vova we'll be a corpse!- Vlad smiled.
- You're coming Kane?- He asked.- We're going out for some old fashioned interrogation, KGB style.

Kane smiled slightly. "I've missed working with you, there's never a dull moment is there. I trust that your men on this base will take care of Melony? I won't let her stay here unprotected, and I am not taking her with me on one of your missions. At least not one where I might have to ... interrogate someone."

- Do not worry about that comrade, Melony is in the best hands. She may rest in Lena's quarters until we get back. But technically they aren't my men. more like allies. The men I command are in the middle east helping some rebels to take down a dictator.- I just go and change and we'll be ready.
After a few minutes, Vlad returned wearing some of his old leathers, to give him an appearance of a biker. He did carried several powerfull handguns
- Off we go- he said.
They went to the teleportation chamber.
- Ready to beam now- The technician said.
Moments later they appeared in the dockside. in one of Vlad's hideout garages. in it a black Dogde pickup truck stood.
- Paechali.- Vlad said and sat in the drivers seat.
